I’m angry about this kind of injustice

3 posts in this topic

I just watched a video about how the coffee break was supposedly popularized by the elite to sell more coffee. Whether this particular story is entirely true or not, it made me think about how many marketing tricks and psychological traps exist in our society to make people consume more.

I’m genuinely angry about this kind of inequality. I know it’s common to feel angry about the unfairness of the world, and I realize that this kind of thinking can sometimes turn into a victim mentality. But when I hear stories like this, I feel angry and powerless because I’m neither rich nor influential.

On the other hand, I have ambitions. I want to become wealthy and put myself and my family in a good financial position. But if I’m honest with myself, part of that ambition feels like revenge. I want to become powerful enough that I no longer have to feel weak in a world where it seems that those who already have money and influence can manipulate everyone else.

And then I think about how long and difficult the road to financial freedom might be, and it hurts. It hurts to realize that I can’t currently give myself and my family the financial security I want for us.

I don’t know how to deal with these feelings. I don’t want to spend my life being angry at the world or motivated by revenge. But at the same time, I can’t simply ignore the unfairness I see around me.

Have you ever felt this way?

@jacknine119 do you feel being reactive to the injustice in life is helping you or setting you back? I understand it can come as a shock. Yet I find that the "protest" behavior of for example a left wing, is leading rather towards passive aggressive behavior instead of progress and solutions. Life is unfair, but that doesn't mean you can't make the best of what you have and if you care about others, that is good, use it for a solution for the world. This is atleast my opinion, as I like to be in a more grounded state, then emotionally reactive to the the outside world and what is happening there. Feel free to have your own take on this.

You can only be manipulated if you allow it. It needs a fair amount of self-awareness and being stubborn but it can be done. What's worse is either threat of violence, or lack of choice. If everything you buy comes from one company (e.g. Amazon) then they don't need to manipulate you, you just have no choice. Being rich or powerful just means you have more choice or can hire more thugs than your opponent, it doesn't make you immune from manipulation.
