It seems like everything is tending toward virtual reality if you look at the history of technology. 

Even reading books alone is a kind of abstraction from being able to recite something in a social setting.

I predict that 50 years from now, everything will be 50 years older than it is now, and I am willing to bet my entire net worth on that prediction

If LLMs continuing improving even if at modest pace, it will be the most impactful technology, we tend towards automating everything, and better AI systems will allow for things that are currently impossible to automate.

History of technology is about automation/removing humans and resource's bottleneck, that's a given that will never change.
