Alain de botton thoughts on love

This guy is incredibly profound and wise.

People who like Leo's long form videos this guy is sure to the interesting. This guy has tons of material out there he's written over 40 books and many amazing interviews like with Chris Williams

For example the most mind blowing concept here is that just like we unconsciously pick up very complex language rules and habits from our families before we are ten, De Botton suggest that most of our thoughts and ideas around relationships are also unconsciously and very subtlety inhereted at this age. 

Given that relationships account for about 70% of our happiness, De Botton is surprised that schools and families leave love and relationships to chance and offer very little deliberate education on the subject. This is a the product of our age of Romanticism vs the progmatic approach taken by our ancestors and for much of human history.

Yes attachment theory is well known and it's the elegant and impactful way Alain talks about it makes all the difference for me. It's a lot like how Leo talks about ordinary spiritual things in an incredibly profound and effective way that makes you actually absorb the concepts.
