How to improve your thinking. The Peter Ralston Approach and other ideas.

1 post in this topic

I feel like cognition and how your mind functions is not limited to something concrete like the score on a cognitive test you took while in grade school that said you were smarter than your classmates, dumber than them, or worst of all dead average.

Now there is nothing wrong with being average or less intelligent.

However, the quality if your thinking abilities invariably goes to head against this minefield of survival we call life.

In many ways the cards are stacked against you so you can simply serve as a cog in the machine... or an even worse analogy -- to simply serve as a battery to power the endeavors of a wealthy individual you'll never meet.

So while there is nothing wrong with being "dumb" per say, not maximizing your thinking abilities is directly tied to your quality of life.

You need to become a strategic motherfucker, with the cognitive horsepower to escape the rat maze you've been placed into since the day you were born and assigned a social security number.

Overall a shift to more holistic thinking helps. Concentration helps.

Peter Ralston is a great example of achieving mastery in this thinking.

Not necessarily by adopting other frameworks or systems but by directly interfacing with a system in such a way until all the signals and information were acquired from scratch. No assumptions. Just a blank slate from which pure understanding could arise.

One of our struggles as human is that we are functioning from such a weak position that we don't even realize how depleted we are.

I don't blame any of you. This is by design.

Nutrition is a good place to start. Exercise. But also cognitive training. Whether using some EEG headset to address your specific cognitive profile. I also think you can intuitively detect your weaknesses by testing them systematically.

At the end of the day I do not think that you are confined to an IQ or something to that effect.

You can directly alter and make changes with the way your mind directly interfaces with the world around you.
