Lost after Disillusionment.

3 posts in this topic

I got disillusioned about the social game and have zero motivation to do something or be someone.

I am able to see everything and everyone is relative - all different identities, lifestyles, culture, beliefs, etc. And I think now there is no way to go back to where I was - chasing some identity or goals. I just can't stick with anything because I can see that it is another bubble of illusion. I have been trying my best to take an identity or go in to a certain field in life, but it just doesn't work and I have been dealing with so much confusion.

Sometimes when I just walk through the city or engage in some social activities, I become super conscious of everything that I can see clearly through the social construction at play. It is really cool and mysterious to feel that way, like seeing things from a third person perspective. But the issue is I don't know what to do with my life and I am completely feeling lost with no purpose.

I am sharing this so that if anyone can relate to this please share how you have dealt with this. Share some books or methods you found effective at this point in life - I have tried different books and ways, but all of them felt shallow and not had much impact.

I am 23 years old and I know I have a lot of potential in different fields, but I don't know - this realisation and seeing things clearly stops me from pursuing something and putting in hardwork because of the relativity of everything and meaningless from an absolute sense.

Cool, now that you know it is relative, you can focus on what you truly want. What do you want in your life?

It being meaningless from an absolute sense is a silly way of getting discouraged by life. That's like saying you can't have sex because there are so many other planets, so why are you just focused on your own life on this tiny planet here? Because here you are, my friend.

Nihilism is a bit interesting to study but it's ultimately a terrible ideology that will ruin your life.

Actualizing your potential and living your best life is the answer. The life purpose course is good for thinking about your highest goals and what you value in reality.

For me personally, I'm working on using AI to make a new kind of game that will hopefully end up being way better than most of the stuff we see today using eventually web 3 and VR. You can check it out here :
