Posture is very powerful, it does literally change your state of mind. Kind of like when you're sad or depressed if you force yourself to smile your brain will release endorphins and it'll help you feel better. It's not the only thing but it definitely lowers your self-esteem to have bad posture. 

Dominant posture if you're a single straight male is especially powerful. There are often times I've noticed recently when I have quite good posture girls with boyfriends on the metro will eye me up and often times I see their boyfriends with a slouched back, they literally look defeated I almost want to tell them Bro straighten that back imma take your girl if you keep standing like this!
