The possibility of nukes being used in US/Israel-Iran war

5 posts in this topic

If you asked me a few years ago I really believed that nuclear weapons were for “deterrence”. But now I must say I can actually see the possibility of Israel or the US using them on Iran.

The war with Iran has put the petrodollar at risk. It’s making America look weak and Iran looks a lot more powerful that we thought it was.

Iran is making more money from oil than has before

Iran is bypassing sanctions and trading with nations and building relations with nations that it hadn’t before due to

Iran actively taking control of the strait of hormuz has put it in a much more powerful position

Iran’s control and Strait of Hormuz policies are in direct conflict with the petrodollar system

While America looks weak the nuclear option can very quickly even the playing field.

I believe the US army looks somewhat incompetent and weak by being unable to open up the strait. This whole situation threatens to destroy the petrodollar system. I can’t imagine Trump’s administration allowing the enemy of the US government, Iran to take down petrodollar system. They severely underestimated Iran and there is a chance of a nuclear weapon being used to maintain US dominance and status quo in the world. Israel could also be the one to use nukes if they feel they’re losing the war too much

I think it will be used because they are batshit crazy but I don't see a strategic use case for it. Unless the plan is to use nuke for a strategically not key move in Iran -> alienate the EU and most of the world -> leave NATO and ally with Russia and China in a uno reverse card  move to become an axis authoritarian block -> crash the global economy -> use AI to dominate the population.

Strategically it can maintain the petrodollar which this war seems like it's on track to end

Can you explain how that would help maintain the petrodollar? I don't see it.

The strait of Hormuz is only open to those who have set up some deal with Iran where they pay in Chinese Yuan. Countries are also buying Iranian oil in Chinese Yuan. And now they're buying Russian Oil as well in Russian Rubbles and Chinese Yuan. Then middle eastern countries that have the petrodollar agreement with the US haven't been selling much of their since the strait is blocked I believe a few have stopped entirely. I'm not an expert but the Chinese Yuan. US Dollars are still important of course but they're just not as important as they were before the war. The importance of the US Dollar is being chipped away slowly. I'm saying this is the beginning of a decline. The dollar is still powerful, however and will be for years to come.
