You guys have a knack for turning insanity into a worldview or philosophy.

Consciousness is not a mental breakdown.

Instead of seeing "the work" - however you conceive of it - as a move from sanity to insanity, turn it around.

Metaphorically speaking, you're currently "insane" (ignorant, deluded), and moving toward freedom and truth, or true "sanity." 

But don't take that too seriously. Drug states are just that - chemically-induced states.
