It's so fascinating, I can't stop looking at and playing with it.

It seems to be some advanced form of the game of life.

I believe that it can teach us about the deepest secrets of life and consciousness.

If we know what we are, we may know what we may be.

That life seems to be a lot more trivial than I thought.

The rules of particle life are more complex than in the game of life but still pretty basic. And yet what it produces seems to be a big chunk of different modes of being.

What usually happens is that these particles start clustering in some ways, and it is usually the case that the most stable configurations start dominating. This already feels a lot like natural selection arising just from a bunch of particles with simple rules.

What's interesting is that each of these species has unique properties. Some are going superfast, some are just sitting still, some oscillate in some way, rarely, some even start reproducing.

All of this seems really lifelike and also mind like and human like. They all seem to have some state of consciousness. Some seem nervous, some seem calm, some seem majestic, some seem zen, some seem aggressive, some seem excentric and creative.

Also, they interact in interesting ways. I have found a configuration where one species tracks the other one down to repeatedly thrust into them. I've called this preset "the molesters".

I think the biggest thing I've learned is to ask myself: "What is the best case scenario?". What I've realized is that in the most beautiful configuration, there is some mix of stability and chaos. Usually most configurations end up in either some kind of stagnation where nothing is moving or some kind of chaos where one creature dominates and just flies around and sabotages any other lifeforms from forming. So what gives the most beautiful results is when there are some species that destroy structures that are too rigid with that species being able to be destroyed too.
