Anyone part of any In person non-duality groups?

4 posts in this topic

I go to a non-duality talk in Manchester, England every week with Zahir Kahn. He had his awakening about 20 years ago and has been giving talks ever since. The meetings are quite relaxed and open, and people can ask questions or just sit and listen.

I know there’s a lot of non-duality content online now, especially through Zoom meetings and YouTube talks, which are great in their own way. But in my experience it doesn’t quite compare to being in the same room with other people who are exploring the same questions.

The in-person setting makes it easier to talk to people afterwards, share perspectives, and sometimes build friendships with fellow seekers. It can feel more grounded and human than just watching a talk through a screen. For anyone interested in non-duality, I’d definitely recommend trying an in-person group if you get the chance.

No but yes when I lived in Portland.

I think it can be good for making friends / romance but awakening is always a solo activity.

Brutal truth is most people even in the spirituality scene and even the nonduality scene aren't interested in awakening.

@Chives99 maybe I was being too cynical.
there are obviously more people interested in  awakening at these places than on the street and at more basic spiritual functions.

Maybe I've been part of actualized . org forum too much and it's risen my internal bar for what counts as "interested in awakening" to pursuing awakening 24/7 and basically risking life and sanity taking psychedelics.

But also, I stand by what I said. In the general public it's way less than 1%, in the broader spiritual community maybe 2% and in the nondual / Buddhist community it's maybe 10% who want to wake up.

thats not a judgement, and i did find one person in particular irl who wants to awaken, aside from the teachers I mean.
