Life on earth, a mixture of heaven and hell?

Life on earth has many beatiful aspects, many positive experiences can be had, one can find tremendous joy in this world, love, beauty, art, sports, games, science, business, cooperation, romance, etc. But that isn't necessarily painting the whole picture of the world we find ourselves in. The other side of the coin (the darker side) is just as prevalent. One doesn't need to look no further than in nature, where might makes right in many cases, vicious animals ripping apart guts from a weaker animal. Predators and so forth. Hunger, starvation and also violence affects us human beings a lot too. Wars, corruption, degenartion, depression, sadness, sickness and becoming a paraplegic. And not to mention physical pain and agony without any limitation what so ever.

I find myself in situations, positive situations looking at happy people on occassion, mothers with their small children, and i think, they don't know true reality, what tragedies they'll soon face in life.

My message is to bring awareness to these facts, one ought to be equanimous, balance the two polarities in order to achieve unity and a full insight into what life is really about. God is love,  but god is also hatred.

Choose wisely.

Questions you may want to contemplate:

- What can one do to go from negative to positive? Being a solipsist leaves you with an blank canvas, you can choose to live more like a saint, and more like the devil. What do you prefer?

- In order to achieve peace, do you have to conquer your inner demons first?

- Are you more appreciative and optimistic of God's creation, or pessimistic? Or both?

thanks for reading. I hope i can contribute to a sincere conversation.

Yin-yang. Can't have up without down ..hot without cold ..pleasure without pain.

The most pleasurable thing in the world is drinking a glass of cold water after being thirsty and lost for days in Sahara desert. The water touching your lips ..Tongue..throat will be so sweet..but you don't feel like that when the water bottle is around you 24/7 drinking whenever you get an itch of thirst .

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."

Reminds me of the schopenhauer quote: "Pleasure consists in the removal of pain or discomfort; it is thus of a negative nature."

Not sure if that's his exact wording but uh....

Well it paints a dark picture that fact, that quote. There is such a thing as ecstatic bliss, orgasms higher than the basic ones of a lower nature. There is tremendous joy, love, and so forth so that quote may be an overly pessimistic view. But yes that is essentially what is being said (ying and yang),

Yes, you will find many saying you must be the heavenly part only, that is not what this place is for. Its to do both. The Earth is a realm in between both. you dont conquer your demons, you integrate them and accept them. A demon is always there its part of who you are.

Here is a story of King Solomon and how he reached heaven. He gives his demon the ring of God and the demon launches to heaven. The person narrating says it was a mistake but King Solomon does it strategically.

I must confess that i was in a quite anxious mood as i created this topic, because I live in a dangerous place on earth, and i've been a victim of certain tragedies regarding violence and so forth, And i think when i walk out the door on my way to work that "something terrible might happen to me", this may belong in a different sub-forum but yes. Life is not all fun and games, not a dance upon roses.

Now, i'm a newbie here and i am not making any request but wouldn't it be cool if Mr Leo Gura made an episode about navigating in the hood, or going through the trenches, alive and well...heh.

conflict, war, and all such things can be a great teacher with first hand experience about the truth of this world..

SPOOKY IMPLICATION OF SOLIPSISM: Only I feel the pain of torture and violence. I'm in a hell of my own creation:
