@julieweiss Thank you for your advice and for sharing the resource.

@jimwell Thank you for your advice and reply. Currently, I am studying in a Canadian university. To elaborate, I think you are correct that I should build the foundations first. Even though it has been like over a year, my brain still sometimes remembers or gets flashbacks of all the terrible events I had to face in my past. Sometimes, these traumatic events even show up in my dreams. I don't even know why my brain is still so attached to my traumatic Chinese university experience.

When I was in college, I was too internally destroyed; I could not focus on my lessons. Even when I forced myself, I couldn't do it. The rare times I was able to focus and learn, I would forget them the next day or 2.

I can relate to this. I think it is not realistically possible for a brain under depression, anxiety, and lack of focus to do the intense rigorous study of engineering.

So, I think my biggest obstacle right now is getting over the past and being in the present moment.

By the way, what was the cause of your anxiety and depression?

Important questions: Do you really need to go to university and obtain a degree? Is it because you are genuinely enthusiastic about it? Or is it because your parents want you to do it? Or are you simply conforming to the general life trajectory without even realizing it?

I am going to university because I am genuinely interested in building a solid foundation for the rest of my life.
