Politics need: people who think for themself, education, effective communication and engagement from the people. So dont quit for good. Becoming apathetic wont help anyone.

Other than that, i understand your reasoning for taking a break and i think its a good modus operandi. You take a break to concentrate on something else and then you come back to it when its right. I'll be doing the same. Gives you time to learn and grow.
