Attaining social freedom

4 posts in this topic

How free are you socially? I have created a term which I’m calling social freedom which is your ability to act in the way you ACTUally want to in an environment where there are people around you. Do you feel like you live in a cage where you’re afraid to look at the people around you. This kind of insular state is self focused and fueled by fear, why ?

Are you capable of dancing in a public place, talking to strangers asking them how they are. STOP LIVING IN A SELF FOCUSSED INSULAR CAGE OF YOUR OWN LIMITATION BS. The direction is to be outside of your self .. focus on objects outside of you — stare at people without knowing what to say and allow yourself to spontaneously and fearlessly respond serving them in the best possible way. or something :)

Hopefully u get a sense of what I’m getting at . If you want to do this start with something completely tiny just make eye contact with people as you pass them in the street etc. then ramp up until you can dance and sing happily with others around you.

When it comes to our actions we are not really free, especially social actions, we have laws right, and social norms/customs and such.. If I go to a mall and start dancing and yelling out loud because I am Blissed out I will be escorted out of the mall or maybe fined/arrested for causing a disturbance.. So we have to be careful when we use the word "Freedom", we can think what we want, almost express what we want as long as it is not hate speech but we cannot act out everything we want, some want to kill or have sex where ever they want, is that allowed?

Now in public and I am in public allot for my job, I make eye contact with ppl, I open doors for ppl, I'm polite and want to get thru the crowds peacefully and with ease, the other ppl generally are not like this, they are distracted by their phone or window shopping and not paying attention and are not curious this is 50% of the time, plus going up to strangers and making conversation well in this day and age we don't do that, crazy things are happening out there nowadays, scams, pickpocketers, criminals ripping  you off, you cannot trust most anyone that is a stranger today unfortunately.. Now if Your in a park and you have space do almost what you want to do other than break the rules or codes established...

Agree. Ine thing is to be fluid and authentic another is the be tone deaf and cluless about where you are and the cultural norms. I changed from one country to another and very fast I need to be aware of how things work were, since people here are in a sort of different matrix. I feel more free here and open but some weird people may use that openness to be intrusive, and to not be aware of that can cost your life in somr places.

This definitely goes a long way.  People returning the eye contact and a smile is all you need to feel seen.
