Why is that so?

6 posts in this topic

Following Leo’s work I wonder: who would I be if I didn’t find him?

But nonetheless, why is that so that to have amazing life that most of us on this forum are striving to, to have that life we need to be philosophical?

What I mean is naturally, I’m not skeptically or rationally minded. Only after I started watching Leo’s videos, I begun to care about truth and critical thinking.

Why is that so? Like out there exist people like me, who are naturally not inclined to have critical thinking and caring about epistemology, in example. Are those people destined for misery and “normie” life?

Like to me this sounds so unfair that some people are just genetically predestined to have better life…

I don't know how you would have been but I know how I would have been without this work, and I would have been a nazi fascist right-winger sexist, Mysoginistic Andrew Tate fanboy. I'd have been lost in complete group think, I'd be a conspiracy theory consumer, I'd believe that Soros is destroying traditions and religion, I'd have been a devout fundamentalist orthodox Christian, I'd be totally anti stage green. I'd have been at bottom of the barrel stage blue. Basically in a few words, I'd be exactly at the centre of gravity of my culture and society. I'd be exactly the same as everyone in my community is. And how everyone in my small village is today, I described above.

You are not special or genetically superior to the people from your village/city, you had been extremely lucky to find a wise teacher like Leo to have taught you this philosophical work. You could have never stumbled upon Leo and you could found only Andrew Tate who would have exploited you of all your money and indoctrinated you into a toxic sexist, mysoginistic, far right wing ideology.

Yes.

Because truth is the only thing that's real. Everything else is human illusions.

Living properly all boils down to truth. You can't fake this with human BS. Which is why the Greeks pursued philosophy.

Without philosophy you are just an animal.

I think you're underestimating the amount of effort it takes to be a big thinker. Being interested in it is not enough to make a serious change. If you're going to complain do it after you've exhausted every option you had, after you've completely nailed excellent health and after you've spend hours contemplating and seeking to grow.

Before I found actualized.org, I thought that the only way to get knowledge is through books. Like to me it never occured in my life that I can contemplate and think about stuff. What if someone has more outgoing and extraverted type of personality and is not predisposed to contemplative-like thinking?

I know you`re not omnipotent and omniscient in the practical sense, but why there are just some people who are prone to be anti-contemplative, per say, than others? Why doesn`t every human acknowledge their ability to think and use contemplation?
