The History Of Sugar

We live in a world so distorted that humans took what nature designed to nourish us; the sweetness of ripe fruit, and isolated its most stimulating compound: sugar. Then they recreated it artificially, stripped of all the balancing nutrients, and mixed it with animal fats, synthetic colors, and chemical additives. They even shaped it to resemble the very fruit it once came from, deceiving children into believing this lab-born imitation was food.

What was once nature’s gentle pleasure became a hyper-concentrated chemical trap, a substance engineered to hijack biology and behavior. Children and adults alike were turned into addicts, not by accident, but by design. The entire Western industrial food system became a grand science experiment, and we, the consumers, were its unwitting lab rats.

There is no real nourishment/nutrition in the food anymore, and that's 99% of the food at every supermarket these days.

So I've played around with it quite a bit over the past few years.

My 2 cents:

I've been using sugar as a nootropic for mental performance for a while now. It's jet fuel for the brain/body on an empty stomach or if you haven't eaten in a few hours as your brain mostly runs on glucose (or ketones if fasting/keto). I do it before important calls to stay extra sharp or before going out dancing / socializing . I literally have some candy in my pocket sometimes for repleting energy, just get smth that isn't junk.

Having actual food when I'm out or dancing or about to have a call just messes with my performance and makes me sleepy sometimes.

Apparently there's a golden ratio of how much glucose your body can absorb during a given period, which does seem to be true based on my personal experiments. Something like 50 grams per hour, or about 25 grams per 30 minutes  ( note , if I just lifted weights this ceiling is way bigger ).

If I go above that I get bad crashes like headaches, moodiness, etc and hit diminishing returns and actually the benefit goes away, just like too much coffee f*cks you up instead of giving you that nice high. ( I face the same problem if I take more than a 1/4th of modafinil or armodafinil )

Also, if I've been sedentary for weeks , haven't moved my body, haven't lifted weights or run then even a little sugar can make me feel tired and crash pretty quickly.

But if I take care of my body by exercising properly, I can have as much dessert as I want. Basically you deplete your glycogen stores, so your muscle "sugar pockets" are happy to take that sweet goodness in rather than letting it spike blood sugar.

BUT! SUGAR / CARBS desserts ONLY ! Mixing it with fats can be a knock out bomb. One thing the vid touches on that's worth noting: most "sugar" problems come from sugar COMBINED with fat i.e donuts, chocolate, ice cream, etc.

Pure sugar by itself behaves differently in your body than when it's mixed with tons of fat. Way more problematic for insulin response and fat storage

Table sugar is 50% glucose, 50% fructose. Fructose has to be processed by the liver. Dextrose is pure glucose, which can be used by your muscles and brain directly (hence the jet fuel analogy) without requiring liver metabolism first ( which is an extra step and is what the mainstream tends to demonize)

Also remember that everyone is unique. Different genetics and health factors can mean highly different responses. Someone with insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome would need a completely different approach.

SO yeah bush your damn teeth because cavities and gum inflammation caused by sugar are real. Especially before bed.
