Can a psychopath achieve enlightenment?

4 posts in this topic

Lack of empathy, remorse, guilt. Shallow emotions, manipulative behaviour and a life centered around ego gratification and status. Can a psychopath achieve the realization of the highest value of truth/love?

It depends.  If beneath all of this is a weeping child then maybe. As long as he has a certain level of intelligence and is underlyingly good he can.  Most psychopaths have severe childhood trauma or they were damaged in childhood.  No one just comes out evil but those that do would have a hard time becoming enlightened.  If you are Satan incarnate then no.  It would be no different than asking me if a dog could awaken.

Wisdom.  Truth.  Love.

Yes. Just like a cat or a dog. How their ego-mind interprets it is another matter. Because concepts will automatically begin to form, first abstract, and then concrete; even the most super-duper-hyper-enlightenedxD are no exceptions. Or maybe this won't happen; for example, they have aphantasia, and their ego-mind simply won't imprint it on their memory, but will leave its mark in another way.
This is purely my subjective opinion and observation.
But in any case, something...will happen....
