Islam and Sufism have Pre-modern biases

4 posts in this topic

If you think what I am saying is obvious, then you probably don't live in the middle east, or you don't didn't grew up with Islam.  It is confusing to admit that there were distortions in the message, makes me worry if this was expressed to the wrong people.

Some of the distortions:

1. Mohammad was not the last prophet

2. You wont burn in hell for things like adultery, being homosexual, and lying is not bad.

3. Life is not inherently meaningful.

It is difficult to move from away from the religion you were born into. A core motive for doing spiritual work needs to be changed to move more into a yellow territory.

I will post more distortions later

What do you think guys?

@saif2 Have you watched Leo's video on Islam? If so, what do you think about it?

When the secret is revealed to you, you will know that you are not other than God, but that you yourself are the object of your quest.

It's all metaphorical dude . Muhammad was born in what is now Saudi Arabia. No racist but pretty barbarian society even today at the 21st century. Imagine how much more barbarian in the 7th century. So he can't come up with a book telling those fools that God is pure perfection and to experience god lets raise consciousness by prayer which is a form of meditation. He had to tell them God will give you 72 gorgeous angelic virgins If you follow me and will fry your ass in eternal fire if you don't follow me .

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."

All religions have their interpretations and I find them as lenses to look through but do I take them seriously? Absolutely not like for example I see Jesus Christ as consciousness to wake up consciousness to ascend. I see Jesus as me and part of the whole it’s like Jesus…Allah etc is different facets of god consciousness waking itself up. ♾️
