Memo of 1971/ Powell Memo, created a massive influence on the market of that time, giving rise to Lobbying groups. 
of course this isnt the entire gist of the Memo but it gave birth to many Conservative businesses practices and infrastructure.
 

Personally, i think this is the main kernel of the rise of oligarchy.

I recently found the yt channel of Scott Carney from your blog. His recent video tackles the topic of Palantir.

The company's chairman and one of the founder, is none other than Peter. He has invested in almost every major corporation, like Facebook, Paypal, Twiiter, even OpenAI.

A deeper dive in his aim and thought process might be fascinating. 
He wants to abolish any type of government.

He later on goes to  fund  JD Vance governor's run in Ohio. And ofc Trump in his presidential elections.
