The U.S. Ice Cream Warship of WW2

Americans never fail to amaze me with how American they are. 

 

 

Apparently, during the alcohol prohibition era breweries pulled a marketing switcheroo and got the public addicted to ice cream instead. The addiction ran so deep that the navy refurbished a barge into a mobile ice cream factory. The beast could churn out 10 gallons every seven minutes and had to be pulled by tugboats throughout the Pacific Island Campaign.
