The U.S. Ice Cream Warship of WW2

Americans never fail to amaze me with how American they are. 

 

 

Apparently, during the alcohol prohibition era breweries pulled a marketing switcheroo and got the public addicted to ice cream instead. The addiction ran so deep that the navy refurbished a barge into a mobile ice cream factory. The beast could churn out 10 gallons every seven minutes and had to be pulled by tugboats throughout the Pacific Island Campaign.

I can see how that could be considered a moral booster. The Japanese were sweating their balls off, doing their best to try to survive, while Americans were munching on their ice creams. LOL

This is straight Family Guy material but it is impactful for real.

Even more importantly a friend of mine told me how drugs have a huge impact on the outcome of war. The blitzkrieg of Nazi-Germany in WWII was literally fueled by meth.
