Jordan's Meditation + Video Creation Journal

18 posts in this topic

Hello, I will be using this as a space for me to write about the meditation and video creating work I am doing. I just created my first YouTube video in a long time and I plan to start meditating consistently starting with 2 hours per day. Here is the video I made :D

I think it is ok for not making many videos before. I know I still have a lot to learn. I would like to make it a lot more entertaining and engaging. I made it yesterday afternoon and started meditating this morning with 20 minutes. I still have 1 hour, 40 minutes to do today. I am feeling really good today. I think because I finally released this video which I have been wanting to do for a really long time. I went to bed 1 hour later than normal and woke up 45 minutes earlier than normal. I will give an update whenever I have anything of interest to bring up. Feel free to give any comments or tips! :D

Hehe yes it was the first time I have used a green screen. It arrived the same day I filmed and I figured out how to get it working. It went quite smoothly and it looks a lot better than what the background would have looked like filming there. My next video I will explain how to make the meditation technique 10x more powerful then the 3rd week 10x more powerful than that :D If you are interested, stay tuned haha.

I have been meditating 2 hours every day since May 8th doing mindfulness meditation so 5 days. I haven't been able to get into a very deep state yet. usually I break it up into around 3 sits I will go through a phase of getting into a light concentrated state then after around 20-30 minutes it feels like my willpower runs low and it is hard to keep on task. I have been going to bed an hour late many days because I push off meditating till later and I have naturally been getting up 30-60 minutes before my alarm which is interesting. I have been feeling a bit more conscious throughout the day. As I drive I notice the color of the trees more. I haven't really gotten into a deep enough state so that meditation is effortless. I believe that when I release my video on Wednesday I will have the solution for this. I will add 3 techniques to my practice. The 3 techniques:

1. There is a breathing technique I have used quite a bit before that seems to quickly and easily get me into a relaxed, concentrated state. I will explain how to do it in the video. Then I will move onto the next technique

2. Mantra meditation. Repeating a mantra in my mind is super easy for my to focus on and seems to drown out other distractions. It allows me to go much deeper in meditation.

3. The forgetting technique from Leo's "guided exercise for realizing you are god" video. This allows you to focus better after forgetting things you didn't realize you were keeping track of.

After doing these 3 techniques, I plan to do my normal mindfulness meditation. This should set me up for a home run of mindful sitting and multiply the effects many times over.

I am looking forward to making a video today. I have been feeling good today and looking back on the week, I had a really nice Mothers day with my family and yesterday I had a great time with another part of my family where we went out for dinner and did an escape room. I think meditation really changed those experiences with my family because when I look back on it, I had a much better time than usual. I only did 1 hour yesterday but did 1 hour in the morning and plan to do 2 hours later today to make up for the hour missed yesterday.

I showed my 2 videos to some co workers and I got some great ideas from them for improving. I will redo the episodes and jump right into the meditation and probably have separate videos for explaining for people that want that. I can make it more interesting by having some photos or infographics, or zooming in or out come up throughout the video. Also I can gesture with my hands more. I could make it much shorter and separate the information in these videos into more videos that just cover one certain topic so people can pick what they want to watch and not listen to parts they don't care about. I will also get several videos ready to release all at once so people can go from one video to the next if they find it interesting. I will see if I can refilm these episodes today in a more entertaining, concise and organized way. Then I will have something better to share with my co workers, friends and family.

:D I meditated 2 hours every day for the last week doing the 4 techniques I shared in episode 2. I still have an hour to do later today. I plan to film some more videos later today. I plan to do a guided meditation, a separate video on how the week went and my next challenge, go over how I developed vivid dreams with a mantra meditation and predicted the stock market based on my dreams correctly 5 times in a row. I will focus on just doing the mantra meditation 2x 1 hour meditations per day next week and see if I can get the vivid dreams back and get some stock market predictions coming up.

I made 2 videos yesterday evening. The guided meditation is pretty close to how I meditate to get the results I get. I didn't add any music on purpose even though it might make a more pleasant meditation. I don't meditate with relaxing music and I think you will not get the same effects as without it so I don't want do dumb it down for people too much. Hopefully someone gets some benefit from it. Both videos have 0 views right now haha. My goal for this week is to do mantra meditation 2 hours a day 1 hour in the morning 1 hour in the evening in an attempt to get vivid dreams that will predict the stock market. I had 5 of these dreams in the past that were all accurate although it does take some interpretation to understand them, it wasn't that abstract and fairly clear to me what they were getting across.

I did an hour of mantra meditation this morning and my third eye is throbbing now 9 hours later. Hopefully that is a good thing. I guess I will find out.

Something clicked for me when driving to work this morning. It is the best choice to choose love in most situations. Love your fear, love your shame, love your hate, love your sadness love your weaknesses, love your life, love the current situation, love your choices, love your suffering love your job love your possessions, love the people in your life love everything as it is. Love is just knowing the truth of it and allowing it to be as it is.

I booked 3 weeks off of work starting in 5 weeks on Saturday (First day off July 5th).  I will use the time leading up to it to prepare my body for a lot of sitting. I would like to meditate as long as possible during that 3 week break. I might still play some video games on Saturday with my Uncle like I usually do and go rock climbing for a couple hours on Sunday but the rest of the time I just want to be focused on meditating as much as possible. It might look like this on a typical day:

4:30am -5:35 wake up and meditate 1 hour before leaving my bed.

5:35-6:30 shower, cook for the day, eat breakfast, drink water instead of coffee.

6:30-12:30 meditate. If I need a break I can go for a walk and still follow the meditation technique mentally.

12:30-1:30 - heat up and eat my food mindfully. Clean up

1:30-6:30 - meditate. If I need a break I can go for a walk and still follow the meditation technique mentally.

6:30-7:30 - heat up and eat my food mindfully. Clean up

7:30-8:00pm text my girlfriend / screen time

8:00pm - 9:30pm If I need groceries for the next day I will go shop mindfully otherwise meditate

9:30pm - 4:30am sleep

Up to 13.5 hours :D

Also I do have some 5-MEO dmt I could use. I haven't tripped for 3 years.

I did just want to give an update on how my meditation as been going this week. I have been doing mantra meditation and I feel much more tired than the 2 weeks of mindfulness meditation. I slept 7.5 hours last night and feel more tired than when I was getting 6-6.5 hours per night the last couple weeks before. I have not been able to focus well during the meditations. After 30 minutes or so I will get distracted without realizing it. I might even check my phone and start playing a game without realizing. While doing mindfulness meditation I wasn't entering much of a meditative state but I was feeling much better emotionally throughout the day with more energy and less sleep than this week. After today I will go back to mindfulness meditation and see if it gets better again. I might set a challenge of doing a 10 minute upper body and a 10 minute lower body workout every day along with 2 hours of mindfulness meditation. I will put a lot of effort into sitting with as little strain on my back as possible to prepare for my solo meditation retreat I have planned.

I didn't meditate last night because it was getting late and I was tired. I also didn't film a video. I have an idea for my videos going forward. I will do 1 minute insights where I share an insight and explain it within 1 minute. Here are some off the top of my head:

Doing 2 hours of mindfulness meditation per day is worth it
Happiness is proportional to how much you accept your current experience
Love is how much you accept things the way they are
10 minutes a day of exercise is enough to be fit
You can choose to think thoughts that make you happy.
Negative motivation can be replaced with positive motivation

This morning I did mindfulness meditation for the first time in a week and I feel energized now. The time flew by quickly for this hour. I did stop in the middle when I heard some rain to go out and close my car windows. I did it while following the labeling technique though. I feel great and I am looking forward to continuing with 2 hours a day of mindfulness meditation

Yesterday I went indoor rock climbing in the afternoon with some people from work. I was feeling really tired after. I meditated in the morning for an hour and from around 8 to 9pm then went to bed and woke up without an alarm at around 4am. I was very tired and couldn't get up or fall asleep until around 6am when I had to get up for work so I didn't meditate this morning. This is the first time I have felt tired on days after I have completed 2 hours of meditation over the last month. Going to bed even earlier might help a little since if I wake up early and can't fall asleep I could force myself to meditate for an hour then go back to bed for a while. I enjoyed yesterday's mindfulness meditations a lot more than when I was doing the mantra meditation I was doing last week.

The last couple days I didn't do any seated meditation. I did around an hour where I did my best to meditate but it was difficult because I had to keep crossing the road and stuff. It would make it easier walking alone far away from people. I decided to put a hold on seated meditation because I have some lower back pain and plan to go to my first jiu jitsu class today. I wanted to recover a bit of my back health before the class today. Hopefully it holds up haha. After the class I plan to meditate walking back and forth in my house and switch to visualizing everything I learned in the class. I want to see if I can improve faster than other people going 1x per 2 weeks but visualizing hours every day on what I learned in that one class.

That jiu jitsu class was harder than I thought. It was 1 hour long, I drank over a liter of water and I was still dehydrated. I ended up getting a migraine after. It took me an hour to catch my breath. I feel better now. My legs and shoulders are especially sore. I might go again on Monday since it is a free week trial I have. I will bring 4 liters of water.

I didn't meditate yesterday or the day before or this morning. I didn't do a video this week or the last. I will see if I can start up walking meditation again after work for an hour but I do want to play a phone video game that has an event starting today. :D Great priorities I know. My muscles are still very sore from the jiu jitsu class I did 2 days ago. Maybe I can alternate between playing my game and walking meditating all evening. I could drive out to a park and do that for a few hours after I eat dinner. I will see if I can get to bed early and get up and do an hour walking meditation as part of a new morning routine.
