Jordan's Meditation + Video Creation Journal

5 posts in this topic

Hello, I will be using this as a space for me to write about the meditation and video creating work I am doing. I just created my first YouTube video in a long time and I plan to start meditating consistently starting with 2 hours per day. Here is the video I made :D

I think it is ok for not making many videos before. I know I still have a lot to learn. I would like to make it a lot more entertaining and engaging. I made it yesterday afternoon and started meditating this morning with 20 minutes. I still have 1 hour, 40 minutes to do today. I am feeling really good today. I think because I finally released this video which I have been wanting to do for a really long time. I went to bed 1 hour later than normal and woke up 45 minutes earlier than normal. I will give an update whenever I have anything of interest to bring up. Feel free to give any comments or tips! :D

Hehe yes it was the first time I have used a green screen. It arrived the same day I filmed and I figured out how to get it working. It went quite smoothly and it looks a lot better than what the background would have looked like filming there. My next video I will explain how to make the meditation technique 10x more powerful then the 3rd week 10x more powerful than that :D If you are interested, stay tuned haha.

I have been meditating 2 hours every day since May 8th doing mindfulness meditation so 5 days. I haven't been able to get into a very deep state yet. usually I break it up into around 3 sits I will go through a phase of getting into a light concentrated state then after around 20-30 minutes it feels like my willpower runs low and it is hard to keep on task. I have been going to bed an hour late many days because I push off meditating till later and I have naturally been getting up 30-60 minutes before my alarm which is interesting. I have been feeling a bit more conscious throughout the day. As I drive I notice the color of the trees more. I haven't really gotten into a deep enough state so that meditation is effortless. I believe that when I release my video on Wednesday I will have the solution for this. I will add 3 techniques to my practice. The 3 techniques:

1. There is a breathing technique I have used quite a bit before that seems to quickly and easily get me into a relaxed, concentrated state. I will explain how to do it in the video. Then I will move onto the next technique

2. Mantra meditation. Repeating a mantra in my mind is super easy for my to focus on and seems to drown out other distractions. It allows me to go much deeper in meditation.

3. The forgetting technique from Leo's "guided exercise for realizing you are god" video. This allows you to focus better after forgetting things you didn't realize you were keeping track of.

After doing these 3 techniques, I plan to do my normal mindfulness meditation. This should set me up for a home run of mindful sitting and multiply the effects many times over.

I am looking forward to making a video today. I have been feeling good today and looking back on the week, I had a really nice Mothers day with my family and yesterday I had a great time with another part of my family where we went out for dinner and did an escape room. I think meditation really changed those experiences with my family because when I look back on it, I had a much better time than usual. I only did 1 hour yesterday but did 1 hour in the morning and plan to do 2 hours later today to make up for the hour missed yesterday.
