A little metaphor about the spiritual path and insights

The trick is, you never know what you're going to get. As you cast your net in the ocean of consciousness, you may wait for days on end and only get a couple small fries, or reel in a giant bluefin tuna that will feed you for weeks to come. But perhaps a shark will pull on your net, take you overboard, and rip you to shreds. Or a whale passing by will accidentally entangle the net on its fin and drag you into the abyss. That's a gamble you take, and you have to love taking it, that's what it means to be a mystic. If that's not for you, stay on land and live a nice life, maybe someone will bring over a gift of some canned meat every once in a while.
