  1. @purerogue You're absolutely right ?? But you're gonna miss me a lot Thank you for the reminder ❤️
  2. @purerogue You're right, and I'm already working on that. Although I have experienced glimpses of non-duality, but I can't tell a newbie that what I experienced was true until I am 100% sure. I have also found true happiness, does this count as work?
  3. @kindayellow If you're in your 20s, I don't recommend even trying to stop masturbation. I think it's better to have a girlfriend, but if you don't have and don't want to, then I don't think it's wise to fight against your nature. Sexual desire is like hunger, they cannot be compared to other addictions, although they can certainly become addictions if you try suppress them. And actually, if you lean into them moderately without feeling guilty about them, they can be the best source for happiness.
  4. @jim123 Yeah, I've watched both parts of "Samadhi" last year. You can look at it that way, I think it's healthy to doubt such information. The thing is, they're claiming that the information provided can be validated by us through direct experience, things that cannot even be believed. I don't know if that's true, I haven't personally experienced Samadhi or any other kind mystical experiences, but I'm open to it because I'm interested in finding out what this thing called Reality or God is. After all, what is not trying to seduce us one way or another?
  5. Thanks for everyone for your contributions ❤️ I've come to the conclusion that yes, it will actually be a lot more rewarding. I will try to completely cut off all of my addictions after Ramadan, I don't think it's wise to drop them all right now, although I'll start limiting some of them right away.
  6. @Inliytened1 This is so nice to hear, I love that ❤️ @Shin I see what you mean buddy, and I assure you, the how-to is not a problem for me. I'm trying to measure what quitting addictions can yield for me, is quitting them more or less rewarding than what I usually get from the addictions themselves? That's what I'm asking.
  7. @Inliytened1 I'm kind of following my heart into this, it feels better to not be attached to things. And I'm not even talking about finding Truth, although I want that too, I'm just talking about discovering deeper levels of peace and happiness. In your experience, can you sit comfortably and effortlessly without distracting yourself with any stimulations or activities? @mandyjw That's absolutely right Mandy. To me, it feels like Classical Conditioning: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_conditioning and we end up getting hooked up to stimulations all the time. @Anna1 I'm more interested in self-control and emotional mastery. According to Leo, an addiction is anything that you can't spend seven days without having cravings for it. I crave music after one or two days. I had developed that addiction (doesn't really matter what I call it) over the years while I was depressed, I used music as a distraction, but now it's an old pattern that I think of removing, along with some other old patterns. Sure, it's not hurting anyone, I just want more fulfilling and productive behaviours in my life. I'm not saying I don't want music, actually, it's really an enjoyable activity. It's just that I want to listen to music at will, not like I need to, and same goes for my other behaviours. That's all.
  8. @seeking_brilliance Are there any books or videos that can help me learn about that? it sounds like a great deal for me. I'm not worried about craving the dream world, I stopped clinging to things, my addictions are just old patterns from before I started getting into Personal Development. @Preetom That's what I wanted to hear. If it's infinitely more satisfying, then it's worth it. I was asking because right now music is satisfying for me, and I don't want to struggle against it unless I am convinced that there will be more satisfaction in the end. Thank you ❤️ @ajasatya That's great to hear, I'm glad for you, thanks for sharing your experience ❤️
  9. Of course. Keep asking questions like this and you'll find out soon enough whether we're lying or truthful. ❤️
  10. Maybe, I might decide to not give up my addictions after all. I'm not having any problems with them. If you could just tell me about your experience, then that could be very helpful for me.
  11. @Anna1 It's 1 or 2 hours a day, I think. But I'm not talking merely about music, there are other minor addictions, and they are using my energy, which I could use in more productive areas. @DrewNows Music is kind of my meditation, I use it to calm down my mind. I rarely meditate without music because I find it harder, music helps me relax, and I could get immersed in it to the point where I'd lose track of time. I wonder if meditation alone is better. @ajasatya Well, that's why I'm asking in the first place, I want to hear other people's experiences. I don't want to struggle against the addiction, it's a painful process, unless it's rewarding and worth it. @seeking_brilliance Thanks, that's interesting, I've never thought of anything like that before.
  12. Well, I can't usually spend two days without music. I enjoy music, really. But I don't feel good when I pass a certain amount of time without it. I think it's a habit and an addiction at the same time. Activities need energy and focus, I can use them in other more productive areas in my life, both spiritual and practical. That's why I'm asking.
  13. @jim123 These teachings are very advanced, most people can't accept them, so don't feel frustrated. If you believe in Jesus, that's great. Morality is a very good thing to have, as long as it feels good for you. Just keep an open mind, love others and accept them for who they are, and you will find God right there. ❤️
  14. @Ponder Well, I can't blame you. I saw two of your topics being raped by irrelevant discussions, so I am sympathetic with you, son. 16-17 years old, I guess.
  15. @sarapr You sound very depressed, and stuck in a loop of negative thoughts. Well, the good news is that thoughts are not reality, so why not having positive ones instead? For example: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belt_and_Road_Initiative Most of what you said is fine, but still, there's more work for you to do, you deserve better, start thinking positively and change will happen naturally. Don't give up on life, that's the point of the future being unknown, is that it always surprises us. Who knows? You might get married to a knight with a shining armor who is capable of changing everything for you, and I don't mean only financially, I mean literally everything. Until then, learn how to look at the full half of the glass, do your best, keep doing what gives you light and hole, forgive yourself and others, let go of imagination, keep following Leo and spirituality, give yourself the time and space to feel good and explore new things. It's just a phase, and you are doing great. Stay strong.
  16. I know, so let's just drop it. ❤️
  17. @J beastly I'm sorry for your loss. Remind yourself that death is natural, and that with every one death there's two births, life is always expanding. With the death of a loved one, life gives birth to two possibilities depending on how you act on the matter. I know it's hard and that there's no way to avoid it, but there's also the path of peace, which you should choose and let your mother rest in forever, that's probably for the best. I hope you get through this hard time, and I know you will, only coming out more stronger than before. ❤️
  18. @Ponder That's how every mental masturbation starts here.
  19. @Leo Gura I assume you're speaking from experience. What is your experience with prayer?
  20. The point is that direct experience is equal to belief, not superior to it. It's up to you what you choose, it's dependant on how your mind has been wired since you were a kid. I assume it also depends on your brain chemistry, perhaps some people are born naturally skeptical and others believers. You're welcome dude ❤️
  21. @abrakamowse To define something we need to contrast it against something else, which is usually the opposite of it. Doubt vs. Belief. Skepticism vs. Faith. Doubt is a conflict, an inner battle, that basically arises from insecurity, which arises from misidentification of reality, confusing the map for the territory. Conflict ends when the veils of experience are removed, and when everything is seen as it truly is. Or, conflict ends when an idea is taken for granted, so that idea becomes a reality. Evidence is not always relevant, often times the sources of information play a vital role in choosing between doubt and belief.
  22. @mandyjw But I'm not laughing at you like Tom is doing Might as well be literal too. Eloquence ❤️
