  1. @Space its understandable by your username lol
  2. Being rooted in the present eliminates the problem.
  3. @Moreira social skills are a question of practice and mastery, you can be a buddha and still lack those if you lived in a cave let's say, about the anxiety i think he has that because he's taking himself too serious, i dont think he lacks confidence. A part of me admires him and a part of me thinks he's a lost opportunity. At the end of the discussion is what @star ark said. We need more Elon Musks or more Jim Carries in our society to grow at the same pace internally like we do externally with our technology?
  4. I'm very conscious about my criticising, isn't a problem at all... @Joyboy i'm 24/7 with engineers around and they hold musk picture in their wallet as a saint. . . But should we really? Isnt that a deception? That's why i'm asking you . .. @aurum 100% action without thinking isnt possible, we have to study the current models in our society first. If me or you were in that state where we got everything figured out by experience we would not be in this forum right now. . . That's why thread are. . . To discuss, to share some points of view
  5. He made a huge 180degree shift, people are not used and scared to that . . . Or better the ego is scared to that, it was expectable, he was a comedian who became an actor who became an egothreat? And yet some people are into this path thanks to him so. . .
  6. His vision and purpose is not having or not 12 billion , is traveling to mars himself. . . I sad earlier he fulfills every straight in maslow's pyramid so from that point of view he could be considered an actualized person. The problem is that these people usually have the power to change or at least move a bit societies and if they use their energy in promoting the same paradigms people will lose another chance to get hooked in the inner work. Technology and exploration are fascinating but dont resolve any of the problems like depression, obesity, bigotry, ect. Ask your mother or father if they witnessed the moonlanding, the rising of computers, of internet, of smartphones. There was nothing like that in the 60's and still what there was in the society is still up today, like racism, violence, terrorism, lust for power, addictions, hunger caused by disparity in wealth etc. If we dont work on individuals or at least try, especially people like musk, we gonna end up from fighting and killing with swords, guns, tanks to robots etc. . . Im not saying that he should quit his companies or dreams im saying that he got the possibility to promote the same amount of inner exploration like he does with the external one. And it may result being good for business too in the long term who know, the fact he doesnt is that he acts form a egoic point of view which makes him equal to the mass. Or even if it doesnt benefit what is the problem? In my country there is a wealthy businessman which introduced mindfulness meditation to the masses and he gains nothing out of it. He's just passionate. Musk could do the same. Nobody would ridicule him for telling people to meditate 30 min a day lol. Anyway that's what i think. . . I may be wrong. . . Maybe this is how things will forever be. . . Maybe i'm thinking to much and criticizing musk without purpose . . . Maybe i should shut up @star ark
  7. Consider breaking up, socialising, making new friends new hobbies step by step. . . At least my ex gf left me when i got sucked up by videogames and desperation because i wasnt graduating on time. . . It did good for her because she got a job, made new friends there and found a more suited boyfriend and did good to me coz i woke up and started the actualisation path. . . I graduated which was a milestone for me (electronic engineering' very fuckin hard) , slowly starting to remove all my gaming addictions and going out more, flirting more and having some medical problem solved , moving out to my apartament from my parents home, meditating, running , quiting sugar . . . I dont think age is a problem but since you're in this forum it means you're in some kind of actualisation path so you wouldn't want to be with someone who isn't doing the same as you. You will grow apart more and more as time passes.
  8. What relaxes you is already inside you in the first place you dont NEED music to walk you just walk . . . Resonating to the outside frequencies make it less emotionally painful maybe but in the end is still you walking. . . If i were you i would try to separate music from a helping tool to accomplish things (like cleaning house etc) by doing those things without to see how it goes ... If you did that you would be able to enjoy music even more because there will not be any meaning in it. . . Just enjoying it. . . enjoy
  9. @JustinS lol yeah, actually is not a problem for me at all, it became a problem when i wanted to try 1 month of nofap and i realised i couldnt lol. . .
  10. What do you mean? What genre in particular . . . .? Addiction is a compulsive behaviour in which your brain rewards you with dopamine and make you crave for it if you dont. . . Usually when addicted your life rounds up around this behaviour and is controlled by your lower self. . . .music is a part of the higher self . . . Notes are pure frequencies that have no meaning in itself but gives us emotions, vibrations, energy. . . How can be music related even by mistake with such lowerself primordial reflex as addictions are? Tell me more about it i'm curious but i think you're not addicted to music but to what you do when you listen to it so you relate those together . . . I personally listen a lot of power and heavy metal during the day. Sometimes i stop at all, sometimes i listen 5 hours straight . . . Im in total control it has no power in my life whatsoever. . . Music is pure joy Ps:
  11. Suffering is inevitable lol, what do you think happens after you die. . . You cant escape suffering by causing more suffering. . .. just work on thing you could work on and accept everything you cant work on. . . It sounds simple but it actually needs emotional labour and consciousness . . . Start with a meditation habit. . . . Death is sure to come maybe tomorrow maybe in 40 years . .. . Kill your ego and live those 40 years as a bonus
  12. If it is a longterm resolution ofc you can pause it sometimes, your mindset should be "i will train for the rest of my life whenever i can" . . . Now you can 3 times a week sometimes 2 etc . . . That's how i think about resolutions not "i will train for 3 times a week for entire 2018" because you might fail, feel worse and that might take you lower than you were before. . .
  13. I've heard that there are people around where i live that are considered mediums, healers or alternative doctors let's say, so since this forum got people all around the world i'm curious if you have any personal history and if these kind of "powers" manifest everywhere around.
  14. I already survived 2weeks with just a tea spoon of honey i got from my father's friend who's a beekeeper . . . It's ok for the daily dose of sweetness . . Also i learned to have coffee without sugar, first with milk then just coffee. .. thanks everyone
  15. I think you need protein .. . Like the babies when they need calcium so they start to scratch and eat the walls lol
  16. Internet in itself is useful the problem is the addiction . . . I personally started to cut out unuseful stuff like twitch (deleting my account), unfollowing all the videogame channels in youtube (90% of my yt subs were gamers or news about gaming like IGN), not checking anymore kotaku or neogaf ect. . . If you reshape your internet usage in order to serve your personal development or even for playing while you're conscious about that its ok . . . The last thing you gonna be addicted is this forum lol
  17. The universe is not human natured. Lao Tzu
  18. In fact the thing i noticed is that i did more cardio (running/bike) than i'm used to. . . And i dont get that burnout feeling when i finish (usually i craved for sugar after that) its a more natural feeling. @Michael569 thanks for the advice. Ill treasure them (especially the aspartame thing lolz) @pluto dates honey and figs will do just fine. Thank you
  19. How are you?
  20. I tried it twice since its common where live but never felt any result meditating in group if it isnt a retreat or smth. . . Im more comfortable in my self taught zazen
