  1. It was a strong word to use but felt right with the analogy that was being used at the time. It did highlight one thing from another post, problems create comfort as perfection might just be too relaxing - which I thing you touched upon at some point. Unless that was me, ah nevermind, it's all the same thing.
  2. @SOUL The wave-aicle thing I touched upon in the reality vs game thread. All still content (which is enjoyable btw) so not much to relate too. Can you use something else that isn't content to describe your position?
  3. @SOUL Sure. The second one attempts to even bring it up, it all becomes relative and not Truth. But thats the playground and language is the sandpit we find ourselves in. So it's all relative in this domain. Speaking about it creates a separation and makes it into something it's not and that's why I'm just as deluded as everyone else right now, out of choice I like to pretend. No speaking about it, it's all as it should be and life goes on. I guess i'm creating problems because I miss them.
  4. @Timotheus Yep, and my presence here can only mean one thing, I’ve walked into the same snare just to contribute and play in maya. It’s getting more painful the longer I’m here though. Talking to oneself is apparently crazy no matter the medium, it’s comfortable though, until it’s not.
  5. Only maya can suffer. Thats why it protects nearly everyone with her beautiful nonesense. Can’t you see he’s having fun, it’s not serious, the only way it could be is that there is a trap that everyone will find themselves in. He’s pointing at the snare around folks feet and everyone says that the snare is more important than getting out of it. The snare is comfortable from their point of view, once out of it things look very different.
  6. What if it’s not a belief and just an description? One that most can’t grasp or are comfortable with. In many ways everyone’s experience from the step back position, is the same. The only difference is the baggage of things we identify with which makes things very different. I still in many ways want to be proved wrong, none of Leo’s or anybody else response can real sway the Truth of things as in the quote you quote, it’s all or nothing. And that’s why is so easy to see it in others, especially those that try and teach others without doing any real work to get there.
  7. I was curious why I found myself on here and then saw this a literally burst out with laughter. Assuming it happened, You do realise this same attitude was given to Jesus as he spoke the Truth. Anyway, funny stuff
  8. You know you're crazy when you find yourself arguing with ones self. This has been fun. Despite the nonsense that came from me during this time, I guess I was testing something out. I can only pretend thats the case as thats all I can do now, is to pretend. As I enjoyed memories of self-development, there are a few things that really skewed my search for the simple Truth once that became my new goal, when it still was part of self-development, rather than self-destruction. Drugs will never get you there. It will create an experience, followed by whatever story you had of it. Elevating it to something you'll eventually have to move past from. Asking random questions about enlightenment, along with all the answers, will just distract and load you up with more to get rid of once the real work begins. Before asking anything, find out for yourself. Don't be lazy and assume others can ever know more than you. Discovering the so called Truth is never that fun. It will take everything from you. So if you really need to know, you'll never really stop, no matter how many egoic hoildays you take. In that regard, it's all good. Just remember. All the people that found it used only their experience in front of them, they used one tool diligently, and they never stopped no matter how uncomfortable it became. It's free, cheap and everyone can do it. You can maybe see why it's better/more profitable of talking about the place rather than pointing the right way so people to see it clearly, just as it is, and in the process lose a person/customer that might end up as follower of a stucture where this none. Wait, all the above is bullshit, less bullshit maybe, but still bullshit. Enjoy.
  9. Spoilsport. I hope it wasn't anything I said. All the best.
  10. @Speedscarlet Imagine it being the internet. It's collecting boat loads about people, ideas and everything else. You use it to search what you need to know at the point of not knowing. All relative and helpful ifrom one place. All nonsense and pointless in the other.
  11. @Thanatos13 Can you reply to my posts please? My ego needs closure, it made up two of them.
  12. @Thanatos13 So I fell back on something, which i'm now wanting to express. Not sure if helpful but always seem to make me smile. This thread, and all my replies all seem so serious. Simple question, whats funny about all this? If everything is meaningless, including your apparent predicament, what makes it funny and silly in the context of what you know?
  13. Of course it is, it's intellectual sloth and noise all rolled into one. You want an intellectual escape route from where you're at. A random poster on the internet telling you, yep, been there done that, just get passed it - isn't really helpful. Practical application will always trump intellectual theory. You want dreams and desires, and you don't have them anymore. This created the conflict with your reality right now. Deal with it the same way you got to that place and see passed it. Using logic and honesty of what is. It sucks not having dreams and desires I get that, but they were never yours in the first place, it was just ego and maya's. You are who you are. As I said, the more you reply and reinforce this position, the more time it will take to unravel - which is always the case for any place within maya, the most comfortable place on earth.
  14. Yep, all theory and no practice. You want me to tell you how it’s true or not? Sorry, not how it works, that’s something that will always be on you. Asking others to solve this riddle on this thread is lazy. its understandable though, go through it and see what’s at the other end. Or just stay in this story for a while till you get bored and start getting curious again.
  15. @Thanatos13 The more you reply, the more concrete your story becomes. Although it a place that one might find themselves, it’s not true, it’s just noise attempting to describe things as they currently are. Sometimes when we focus inward, we can get contracted and locked into ideas that are superimposed onto life. Its common to drop things that were run my ego. In order to expand so to speak, annoy yourself and do things despite the pointlessness of it all. That way you’ll be testing who you really are in new ways from a new perspective, challenging everything.
  16. @LiakosN In many ways, karma is just cause and effect. The feelings you have are the karma. To annoy myself, I’d end up buying the same bar from another branch, rock in and go up to someone who worked there and flat out tell them what happened and return it to their hand. Other option is to do a reverse steal, walk in with it displayed in hand (cameras) and just put it back. The feeling you’ll get is also the karma. What really happened, whether understood or not, is that you stole from yourself - so just return it. I have a memory of once returning a coin that they gave me by mistake, went in and gave it back in front of everyone at the tills. Our errors can be teachings to others...even if it’s the one employee you give it back to. I wasn’t thinking that at the time though, just made me smile.
  17. @Sri Ramana Maharshi There does seem to be a lot laughter coming from me these days. We are so silly and if we can't see this, it will lead to a greater seriousness, all of which is ego's domain. @Joseph Maynor Emotional reactions to life is a great teacher. Wasting time on straightening others means one is not focusing in the right direction. Just like this post. The only difference is that it's coming from life not ego, as what it's suggesting will lead to ego losing it's power.
  18. @Truth Addict The new buzz word, mindfulness, may be more helpful than meditation. Meditation is great for the mind and body but it might takes a while (or never) as what you end up doing is watching the world in a very specific way - not in all it's glory within daily activities while your thoughts and emotions react to it - those are the times we could put inquiry to better use - either in the moment or later. Who am I, not this, not that etc. I also recommend using the mind's logic and honesty to discover what the mind itself is blocking so that one can see things clearly. This can't be done in the mind alone and thats why some say write it out int he physcial world. Like a diary of uncovering the blocks, where each new attempt destroys a past truth you held true. Drugs will only give you expereinces, and if you're not careful they will be elevated to something special and do more harm than good in uncovering the false. The fact that you say "and also trying to get to enlightenment." is making it into something that it isn't and therefore easily missed by the luring lights of mayas illusion. Do you really want to see the true nature of reality? Even if costs you everything, including all your fun beliefs and emotional reactions to life? If it's just another ego notch on the bed post, the energy you spend on it could be better spent elsewhere.
  19. @hundreth If you're thanking others, don't forget to thank yourself. It's all the same....apparently.
  20. Keeping on chopping wood. Life continues, with all its beautiful contradictory content. You have any freedom you perceive to be true. What you do, is what you do. Apprently the Socrates fella lived with a wife that wasn't too friendly and supportive for him (it's all 2nd hand info!) . The apprent Socrates stayed with her. The thing is, the world will always change, but you won't . Explore it's most mundane aspects while the ego tries to tell you it's not enough. Never forget, the wood still needs to be chopped.
  21. What if we tricked ourselves that there is a journey in the first place? If the enlightenment journey implies someone achieving something that they don't already 'have' it will ensure continued ignoring of the obvious. Personal development journey makes sense, build your character and build a better dream...sounds like a fun journey. Although, ego is never truely content so maybe be weary with that one Enlightenment however could be something very different. The journey stops and you got feck all to do but enjoy what seems to happen. With no chasing it could become very relaxing,. Once all the ego and illusionary nonsense is seen through though. A lot of work and absolute honesty with what is ...which could takes years, maybe decades if we have blindspots.
  22. @ItsAvi One thing you may find adapting to is to conversations. You have to pretend a lot in regards to the beliefs of others and from experience, it won't help them by pulling the rug out the carpet and telling them its all made up and that they're believing things that aren't real - even though you see it's causing them suffering. Most of our errors have to be resolved from our own work looking at things closely. Having others tell us, never creates a deep understanding of issues. I found the error was mine for the above issue when I was honest, I pre-supposed that something needed to change (their suffereing), which meant I was back in duality/seperation again and ego was running the show. Like it is right now by replying to this thread. It's also making the excuse that this is justified for one reason or another. All lies and shows there will always be work to do, until there isn't.
  23. In the end, the best advice I ever got was to just to stop what I was currently doing (in the search for enlightenment) and take a good inventory check of myself and my surroundings as they are. Most of the people that we use as source material didn't use drugs, have the internet for endless watching/reading/distraction and only really used reality as it was in-front of them. Everyone has those same resources and are therefore no different than anyone else. The only difference is one thing. Baggage. You can either pick some more up as you go along, or drop off what you already picked up. I tried the former and it got a bit heavy of me and there were too many contradictions. Guess what happens when you drop the baggage instead? Life gets lighter. Do this till there is nothing left to drop and you'll be left with the only thing that can't be dropped. And they wonder why they call it enlightenment.
  24. Thank you for calling out my delusional behaviour. This kinda of reply might make want others to really listen to something that comes from you. It's strange when you are aware you're doing it and when you're not. When it's seen through it can't be unseen. It's also strange to care enough to get involved, people talking from beliefs will never change, so I might as well, sit back and see perfection in the imperfections, and post if I post....for now.
  25. Go for a walk and breathe. The mind will settle soon. If you need to work through something with language write it down and create a framework for yourself for now
