  1. I mean we don’t “know” otherwise do we?
  2. If consciousness which is thought is a material process doesn’t it take place in the brain?
  3. @Mahmoud Bishr Kebbeh ....Be alone is right We have to be a light to ourselves ??
  4. Scientific dogmas like religious dogmas are similar in that an idividual tends to develop a vested interst in a presupposition, premis, or belief. Part of the reason why thought tends to be limited is the non awareness of this bias position that is held in a theory, concept, and idea. There is a need to self sustain and validate onesself in order to maintain a sense of security and so on. Thought without perception of this actuality in movement will inevitably deceive itself in what it stands by as fact. Now it’s seems rather obvious that the dogmas of science are much more subtle than those of organized religion. Organized religion has no sense of subtlety. Never the less the dogmas of scientific theory were born in the death of the dogmas of organized religion. Same pattern different convictions. I don’t know much of these scientific characters listed above but anyone who sees the actuality of the process of the self would tend to be less dogmatic. At least I would think so.
  5. A great scientist needs to see and understand the nature and structure of thought itself. Which means they are also aware of there conditioning and the various dispositions that they hold. Conciousness should be understood when it comes to having a solid foundation for a scientist to keep a line of rationality going without any kind of distortion to what is being observed. A good scientist not only needs to have great capacity to accumulate various forms of knowledge, but also needs to understand the substance and limits of knowledge/thought. Science is important for the obvious reasons and thought has it’s place. In this art/form of discipline, objective observation can be applied with great care. However thought not applied with care is very dangerous and creates such insecurity in the world. Both in our views and dispositions of our place in the universe which effect relationships with one another “division”, but also the obvious technological advancements that can wipe the planet out. If we are going to use thought to our advantage we should know it’s limits.
  6. A capacity to see beyond ones conditioning.
  7. This is something that one can see by inquiry into thought which is knowledge. Its obvious to anyone who understands the limitations of themselves.
  8. As long as scientists know that knowledge is limited there is no problem. Knowledge is always partial, limited, and can only capture a fragment of the whole. It’s the narrowing down from the whole and the process of classification. The whole can not be captured by that which is a part. This is a fact that few great scientist understand.
  9. To seek happiness is conflict. To avoid sorrow is conflict. So what’s left? To accept that there are times of sadness and there are times of happiness Use this pain u have to energize your inquiry into why you are having these thoughts, fellings, and conclusions about yourself. Learn about who and what u are. This learning never ends ??
  10. It’s also nice to be able to communicate with those who are interested in more than the daily grind. To share about this common trait of thought. From those who are on a path and those who seek the pathless.
  11. yeah lol... I’m sorry but pine cone shaped gland never enters into the realm of what is. If You lived in the realm of what is you wouldn’t have this desire to lucid dream or what ever this jive is. One who doesn’t take a fact “what is” and then project it into an abstraction of what should be in accordance to there pleasures, desires, and so on, lives in the realm of what is actual.
  12. I don’t know what to tell you friend.. It’s simple though. If your mind is quiet “orderly” all day that orderly mind carries on when your sleep. Order can not come about by control or suppression. Dream teacher lol Why do your want to control your dreams anyway. What is lacking in your daily life that drives you to fantasize in the dreaming state? I personally enjoy not dreaming. Anyhow pleasant dreams
  13. If u haven’t experienced this non dreaming state than I would guess your mind is not quiet. Idk lol I don’t assume this is so, I live it. It’s actually happening
  14. Relationship is only when there is no image of yourself and the other. Love would imply the same And I don’t know anyone in my daily life that see that fact so I guess the people I see daily do not love. Maybe someone else on this site knows this though. One who has the capacity to stand alone psychologically/spiritually is one who knows relationship and love
  15. Jeez friend.. books are great for functional knowledge. To learn mathematics, language, science, and so on. If your are reading these books I don’t see a problem. If your are reading books about psychological, spiritual, and so on then that’s ok to. But remember in the psychological realm the book of yourself is all u need. “The book of man/woman” How can we learn about ourselves through the theory that somebody else has formualated? And a good question to ask is what’s the motive behind this addiction to knowledge? Be honest with yourself. U just might get an answer.
  16. If your mind is running when you sleep you are not getting the rest that you could if your mind was quiet.
  17. Leo is in the same boat as the rest of mankind, No better no worse I have only watched one vid he has posted and he seems to be leading people in a favorable direction. But you have to go beyong what he is showing you. I personally have taken his advice and went deeper into my investigation in various ways or methods and found that there is no path or method in this self learning and self knowledge. We have to go beyond any authority and be our own teachers. One thing I do appreciate is this site that Leo has put together. It’s just what society needs.
  18. Nice ??.that sounds like an excellent adventure...I just appreciate when the mind ceases so when wake I feel totally reenergized.
  19. @Shanmugam ...absolute infinity is still speculation my friend. And creation implies a creator. So I don’t think that sounds like rational way discribe the start of this happening. And I question anyone who claims to be a yogi. If we are inquirers of thought,knowledge/time/ego. We have no need to follow some “yogi”
  20. @Dodo ..dreams seem to merely be an enxtension of our daily lives. The feelings, thoughts, and rememberance is carried on into sleep. The disordered mind of the day becomesthe same when we sleep. Fortunately I don’t dream or am lucky enough to totally forget them.
  21. We’re we created? Who’s god in this case? Is this an attempt to gain security in an idea? Can ideals ever solve the problem of division in relationship? Or does this very attempt to bring about security through an idea accelerate insecurity to greater extents?
  22. The enjoyment of life is important. What you hold significant is important. Understanding yourself which is thought is important. Everything else is secondary. Dont get caught in the motivation through fear game. That will only bring about conflict in your life and will manifest as psychological disorder down the road. If You can get paid to do what u enjoy, awesome. If you enjoy it enough you will become good at it or maybe even great, but being great at it shouldn’t be why you want to do it. Doing something u love even if you were not getting paid for it is an intelligent way to live. Getting paid for it is a bonus. And finally just live for heaven sakes. Death is always closer than we think. Don’t waste all your precious time in the realm of thought “fear” relax friend...inquire into yourself which is investigation into thought and action will become evident. Remember in an age of leisure it’s important that we enjoy oursleves. If we don’t the world will fall to pieces. Conflict in becoming can be very destructive when everyone of us are slaves to desire. Good luck friend
  23. How do we know we think differently? How do we know how others think according to Mr Jungs ideas, theory’s, and conclusions? Is this something we need another’s account of to find an answer to?
