  1. "Emotion" doesn't capture the magnitude of the experience. The feeling I get from music is identical to the feeling I get from awakening. It's Love. The immersion in the present moment is completely perfect; subject and object duality collapses. I understand it might not be like this for anyone, but for me it's undeniably so. People are different, but I believe every person must have atleast one thing in their life that resonates with them on this level. If not, I don't see how one can live life. The is-ness of sound is so profound, any description fails to capture it. Sound doesn't "create feeling". Sound IS, and it's completely amazing! You are the sound The depth and richness of sound is completely ineffeable.
  2. For me, asking what value musicians provide is like asking what value food, water and shelter provides
  3. If you have to ask that question, I feel very sorry for you
  4. How does that work specifically?
  5. My definition of 1st world country is essentially synonymous with social equality. If life is shit for a large percentage of your citizens, then it's not such a great nation after all.
  6. Because reality increases exponentially in complexity as it evolves
  7. @cle103 Best video about nutrition and health ever. Love the systems approach.
  8. Narcissists have to live too you know
  9. Trying to explain what intuition is to a highly intuitive person is most likely unnecessary because they'll just intuit it
  10. MBTI defines intuition through its two cognitive functions Ni and Ne (introverted and extroverted intuition). If we focus on introverted intuitives only, INTJ and INFJ are Ni users while INTP and INFP are Ne users. I suggest reading up on them because I will most likely butcher the explanation, but I'll try to give an analogy: Ne is like a monkey jumping from tree to tree while Ni is like a bird landing on one of the tallest branches. Here is a picture I just found randomly: Take from that whatever you're able to I guess (I honestly know very little about this ).
  11. What do they say — the most simple is often the most profound? Hey I'm just a humble INFP
  12. Seems like these type of studies use "academically gifted" as a measurement and not intellectual giftedness, my bad. It's understandable as it's much easier to gather data that way. I can't actually find the specific study that the graph is linked to, but there is a similar graph that was based on academic giftedness.
  13. So Green I turned into a broccoli smoothie-sipping Hulk.
  14. Intuitives make up only 26.9% of the population, introverted intuitives 11.3%. If intellectual giftedness is associated with the need for understanding and truth, then I guess this is one explanation
  15. No, not enough power! Twice a day does the trick - you'll have that lazer vision in no time :
  16. We were talking about France. I don't consider the US a first world country
  17. You think a first world country in 2021 will purposely starve their children of essential nutrients?
  18. But are there any immediate ways of knowing if you're getting damaged other than the damage itself? I'm asking because as far as I know, the retina contains no pain receptors.
  19. Meditate your ass off and then don't even bother thinking about it for the rest of the day.
  20. Top positions have high attention trade-offs. You have a limited amount of attention, and getting to the top of a field requires deep specialization, which means prioritizing one thing over another and narrowing your focus. In other words, attention trade-offs generally skew towards analysis and away from holism. Another example would be career scientists. They've invested so much time and attention into looking very closely at some very particular details (analysis) that they lose the big picture view (holism; metaphysics, epistemology). High consciousness and spirituality is fundamentally holistic.
  21. Oh no you did not just do that . Are you really this good at puns or is it just all in my mind?
