  1. And how do you know that isn’t a paradigm?
  2. Naturally-occurring, rather than a synthetic research chemical.
  3. @Sven That video is so awesome ? I would say it is a Turquoise-level state of consciousness. 20 years ago, adrenaline was the big thing for thrill-seekers - bungee jumping, roller coasters etc. Now I’m seeing more and more people seeking flow states.
  4. I think the No Free Will realization puts the largest crack into the self delusion. The self will avoid this realization at any cost. Once this realization occurs, the self’s days are numbered
  5. Perhaps Leo will give us a hint. . . Is it a RC?
  6. Take an interest in them. Ask questions and listen. . .
  7. It's all a dream. Of course the dream will change. That's why it's silly for people to identify with concepts and believe ideas are True. Humans are obsessed with a desire to feel grounded.
  8. @Pilgrim Once you get through the free-will / choice mud, things get *really* interesting. Try this out: drop the whole idea of free will / choice. Drop entire life story of who you are. Now consider all the input that has shaped you. Then think of all the input that shaped that input. Then all the input that shaped the input that shaped the input that shaped you. Before long, you will arrive at infinity. You are infinity. You are the universe. You existed before you were born.
  9. It seems like you are assuming there is one passion. Most people have multiple passions - I think the average is about 7 passions per person. As well, seeking "the best" version of oneself is a fallacy. The quest for an unattainable "best" is the enemy of many "betters". There are many versions of meaningful lives you can live.
  10. The power of direct experience. Once a person transcends rationality, they will relate to post-rational being very differently.
  11. I was immersed in the meaning-meaningless thought space for a long time - then the distinction between meaning and meaningless dissolved. . .
  12. @Ampresus You betcha. Try this out for size: During meditation close your eyes and observe any thoughts or sounds that arise. Notice how your thoughts feel inside your head and sounds feel like they are outside your head. How can a sound be outside your head? Because that is how we are conditioned. Try letting go of that conditioning and observe thought and sound together in the same space. There is no "inside" and "outside" Fun stuff.
  13. A beautiful example of social consciousness. Humans have no problem seeing how individual cells emerge as an organism, such as a tree or human being. Yet, humans have the darndest time seeing how individual entities emerge as a social organism.
  14. 6 weeks @SaltyMeatballs 22mg plugged. Sub-breaktrhough, yet still profound.
  15. To push it further into the post-rational zone. . . 1. Can thinking and direct experience be integrated? 2. How is an intuitive impulse the same/different than a rational thought impulse? Imagine you are a scientist that has conducted a few experiments on fundamental aspects of cancer cells. You have spent weeks observing cancer cells and collecting data. How would an intuitive impulse to do a future experiment be similar/different than a rational thought to do a future experiment?
  16. Psychedelics disable rational thought. To a rationalist, the experience will seem irrational - because they have not transcended rationality.(i.e. an orange level rational thinker) The experience will be very different for someone who has transcended rationality (e.g. a yellow level being). They will not dismiss the experience as being irrational since they understand deeper modes of being.
  17. There comes a point where the self must surrender and give up control. The self doesn’t decide what’s behind the door. It could be absolute bliss or absolute terror. The absolute doesn’t “care” if “you” experience happiness or pain- the absolute is *both* happiness and pain.
  18. Most humans have some fear of the unknown and their own death as they journey toward Truth. The self doesn’t want to die and fear is a mechanism of self preservation. It sounds like you go through ego death with joy and excitement. I’d consider that lucky,
  19. @Baldmunt Texting in a long distance relationship can be awkward. I don’t like it either. I’d casually tell her I prefer skype conversations and slip in the basics of what you wrote - I’d be easy going about it. I wouldn’t escalate it into some mellow dramatic “issue”.
  20. I’m @DrMobius IKR. 5-meo is my #2 gentlest psychedelic and #1 teacher. I get some body load discomfort - somewhat similar to motion sickness. But not too extreme. Like a 5/10.
  21. Similiar for me. So intense. Have you done sub-breakthrough trips? I’ve found those beneficial as well.
  22. The OP is is approaching a spiritual space, not chasing an experience. There is a dreading of the ego death experience. One can learn about the psychedelic experience from others, but that is NOT a substitute for direct experience. Ya gotta go there yourself. That fear, joy and excitement idea is delusion of avoidance.. We are not talking about riding a roller coaster - we are talking about dying. Of course fear may be part of the process.
  23. Once you breakthrough it’s smooth sailing. I don’t go to breakthrough depth very often because it can be so intense to get there. And the lessons are difficult to integrate. IME, the ego and resistance lessens and surrendering becomes less dramatic
  24. IME, the sub-ego death zone is the roughest part of the ride. Above and below is smooth sailing ⛵️
