  1. kriya specifically as far as was mentioned in the book is meant to bring you to a state of samadhi, utter concentration and unity. the side effects are fulfillment, calm mind, delusional beliefs dissolve, religious experiences (getting high lol) and a bunch of more stuff
  2. in lesson 4 you will be introduced to the "meditation" at the end
  3. its useless really to explain with words, but it was just being. you were just existing. what is not useless though is to get to that state again right? well, meditate and study non duality. try alan watts videos on youtube. stop trying to figure things out and just be, dont think when its not needed, what you will notice will happen is that the mind starts chatting again, its ok, be the observer, become aware of it and it will calm down. this state is already here, but you're not aware of it. meditation and all the other stuff helps with becoming aware of it.
  4. @Guillem it depends on what you define enlightenment as. if you define enlightenment as the absence of ego animals are definitely not enlightened. they want to survive. I also think that the terms "enlightenment" or "awakening" imply to be in ignorance or asleep before a certain happening. if animals were "enlightened" they would definitely be enlightened since birth, so those terms have little meaning. dont confuse enlightenment with being in the present moment. animals are probably always in the present because they probably dont have much the ability to plan (depends what animal) or reflect on the past. they probably dont suffer, because suffering comes from the future or past. they might have pain or sadness, as an enlightened person might have, but they wont suffer for it, also as an enlightened person, but that doesnt mean theyre enlightened.
  5. watched the whole vid, thanks, that very improved me. It connects really deeply to the last trip i've had, where in the afterglow I just knew what to do, there was that intelligence, intuition and creativity far beyond me, just because I didnt stand in my own way. personally in my life my mind is ALL THE TIME clogged with analyzing and how can I do better, and its forced and i feel like i have to force it to improve, yet i observe no results from it at all. maybe this is what prevents growth from happening and true growth only comes non-thinkingly, intuitively, flowingly, when you grasp with your consciousness and not with your thoughts, and you do that by just observing. fuck man, as im writing that my mind is blown, this point has been such a huge struggle for me and now finally the dots connect, thank you so much.
  6. then enlightenment is not for you. the payoff here is knowing truth, which comes with dropping dead. you cant get truth without being willing to drop dead. erase the distinction of egodeath and physical death because from your perspective its the exact same thing. you will literally die after awakening, there will be no you to enjoy the fruits of awakening, just a walking body.
  7. that shit was fire, im so glad i happened to enter this post
  8. The thing is that both quantum mechanics and general relativity are both extremely well tested theories, while one works with very large objects and the other one works with very small objects. because of that there are a bunch of problems when you apply general relativity to small scales, for example you mightve heared of the "singularity", the center of a blackhole. according to general relativity it is infinitely small, but quantum mechanics says there cant be anything smaller than a certain size. with that in mind, "time" is explained by general relativity, as you said, spacetime and stuff. The big picture is that time is not "time" but just a property of the geometry of that "spacetime" thing, i.e. how it curves. i know, doesnt make sense much, my guess is that einstein was growing some special weeds. the point is that the ideas "time" travel, "energy", "electron" are not well defined, its just a theoretical framework to predict experimental results. not only that, but it contradicts itself. our minds get fascinated by ideas, which are inherently false because the map is not the territory. it's just a playground in our mind. with that said, it doesnt mean that we shouldnt play, but we should be aware that it's a playground and in reality there's no such thing as "time", "levels of energy" or "electron". thats why im skeptical of all the new age stuff that connects its ideas to physics and such, because they might not understand the actual physics but draw conclusions, thats a thing to look out for. ultimately the uses of physics are mental masturbation (doenst have to be negative, just an appropriate term) and inventing stuff, lol.
  9. haha, the whole of physics relies on observations. beautiful
  10. kriya is perfect, it was made for the short on time householder, you dont have to do anything beside a 30-60 min practice a day. I like to add on top of it a 20 min meditation but thats me.
  11. if you ask for the technicalities, quantum mechanics operates using 3 basic axioms. people just came up with that stuff to explain experimental data. it mainly uses linear algebra i.e. matrices and vectors to represent ultimately the probability of having a certain measurement.
  12. I study physics, quantum mechanics is a course I take right now. "time" in physics is much different than time we normally talk about. it's all in the equations, you dont have the intuitive level of understanding which would allow you to understand what's REALLY described here. when people describe a physical experiment they dont use the same meaning of the words which most people use. Also, time is explained by general relativity, and general relativity doesnt go well with quantum mechanics as you might know. since we're talking about quantum mechanics here that stuff has nearly no meaning, because the theoretical framework upon which all of this is built is somewhere false.
  13. You could try to go to a psychologist if you havent already. Im planning to, soon, even though my life is not in shambles, it's kinda tough though. it's really comforting I would guess, just talking to a person about that stuff already gets you out of your head. lack of communication leads to disaster usually, I know because Im alone most of the time and i've realized on a recent lsd trip i've had how much it hurts.
  14. sometimes I practice semen retention. After a few sessions of shamanic breathing, a lot of emotional release and an LSD trip, just after a few days of semen retention I start to feel energy in my spine, medulla, in the chakras basically. I notice I can direct this energy sometimes. The thing is that I feel like this energy wants to explode, like it wants to increase a lot in intensity and explode. I guess this is similar to ejaculation but I feel like it's more than that, since ejaculation doesnt satisfy usually and the energy doesnt go high enough. sometimes that energy comes with some vibrations in the body. This energy is pleasant somewhat, but at the same time that desire to explode makes me anticipate something that I guess wont ever come. sometimes i realized it's an illusion and im just present with that energy, but fairly quickly the realization fades and I go back to desiring to explode. im curious about that, it's very weird and I wanna know more or what to do about it. I practice kriya yoga but i havent even started the first kriya. edit: im also more emotional when I practice semen retention.
  15. @Crystalous thanks, that really helped
  16. do i have to do kechari mudra during first kriya pranayama? firstly i cant do it, and the limited kechari mudra is very difficult, my tongue starts to ache. i would guess cut down the duration of the breaths, with time the duration will increase.
  17. @Pallero Thanks. I have a question. in Ujjayi pranayama the author tells to expand the chest while breathing with the diaphragm, although challenging, I managed to do that, BUT then, when I come to the first part of kriya paranayama, he tells not to raise the ribcage? is this breathing different from Ujjayi? or did he mean to breathe from the belly since the very beginning?
  18. not much, i would guess around a week
  19. I dont understand what to concentrate on during the concentration period. the author said first on bhrumadya, but then he said not to focus too much on it in the tips, he also said to focus on medulla, and on a bunch of sounds if they appear. i havent heared any sounds yet. what am i supposed to concentrate on?
  20. I think this is a huge sign of progress, heared of sanskaras? it's like boss battles on the way to the final boss: the ego. its deep mental habits that get uncovered after spiritual progress. read a bit about this, dont stop when you start to get agitated, just be the witness of the agitation. read "conquest of mind" its an insanely great book that presents a lot of good information on how to advance spiritually.
  21. how do you fall asleep on the night when you took the psychedelic? it took lsa and lsd and at both times I wasnt able to sleep and the next day was very hard.
  22. everything is inherently meaningless, but I apply meaning to stuff. when i realize i apply meaning to stuff, i realize its meaningless inherently and the meaning i give fades. how do i function when i dont have that meaning? how can i be motivated to do anything without meaning? is there such a thing as artificial meaning, created deliberately? and if so, how does one do that?
