@Husseinisdoingfine which Isha techniques have you tired ? Were you initiated into these practices @GreenLight ishas practices do work, they are some of the best out there. -

@Ether12 have you tried any other of ishas practices apart from the 2 you mentioned. Are ishas practices the most effective you have came across. Do you think shambhavi and surya kriya are effective practices for spiritual advancement rather than just for well being -

@EmptyVase that was then only intiation I have had, sadhguru addresses your question here, and says the intiation works just as well online as in person -

@EmptyVase the actual initiation itself only lasts about an hour. Half an hour, then another half hour about an hour later. He gets people to do the shambhavi practice along with him, while he sings and claps his hands, then they play some music at the end. It's a strong intiation though. Some people who were there with him were screaming out. The other 7 hours hes just answering questions, telling stories etc, it's just to make people more receptive to his energy I'd imagine -

@Swarnim go to Isha main website, you can register there, there is one on next month Its 120euro to do the inner engineering course Then 190 euro for the shambhavi initiation You have to do the inner engineering course first to be eligible for the shambhavi. Inner engineering course is just 7 90min long videos you watch. Recorded videos you watch at your own pace -

I done shambhavi online a few days ago, my energies went crazy, after the transmission, when they played the music. Done it cos it was recommended by a friend. I think sadhguru is the real deal though. Apparently the hatha yoga is very good for spiritual gains, buddta shuddi, surya kriya and yogasanas. Haven't tried them though -
Anybody been initiated into any of Isha's practices and done them for a decent period of time, what is your experience of them, are they high level spiritual practices? Have you come across practices that are more effective than ishas? List of Isha practices Bhuta shuddhi, surya kriya, yogasanas, shambhavi mahamudra, shoonya, shakti chalana kriya

@Leo Gura what practices are you doing at the minute? -
bobbyward replied to Vision's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@PurpleTree I wouldn't class that as bypassing, as it is life giving you no other option but to go down the spiritual path and wake up. That's what happened in my case. If suffering or the unwanted didnt exist you wouldn't put in effort to change things. But telling yourself the world doesnt exist or ignoring worldly problems instead of looking for genuine solutions I would class as bypassing. You need to take positive action to change things, spiritual practices is one way of doing it. -
You dont have to do semen retention to awaken, but it will help. More of a good thing doesnt necessarily mean better. Ejaculationing once every 2 weeks works well for me. Excessive ejectionition will make waking up harder.

@Danioover9000 what is your experience with no fap? How long do you usually go for and what are the benifits ?

@Meta-Man what is behind your thinking when you say, dont try to force through any radical changes. What's the down side or problem with that ? -
@Shiva99 do you think after a certain period of no fap, like 3 months just say, you stop getting extra benifits, or the longer you go the better it gets? Did going on long no fap streaks have any negative impact on your sleep, finding it hard to get to sleep? The longest I have gone is a month
-
There seems to be no drawbacks from your no fap from what you are saying, so y not stick with it. Or have more of a balance, fap once every 2 weeks or once a month. Seman retention is a good thing, but more of a good thing doesnt necessarily mean better.

Chanting certain mantras is the most effective spiritual practice I have came across. Try this one, shakti gayatri ōṃ aiṃ aiṃ aiṃ klīṃ klīṃ klīṃ sauṃ sauṃ sauṃ (ōṃ) bhur bhuva suvaḥa tat savitur varēnyaṃ bhargo devasya dhimaḥi dhiyoyo naha prachodayat -
It's not necessary, but it helps. I had a kundalini awakening while masturbating every day, but am doing seman retention now, as it helps with spiritual transformation.
-
@Dodo how long do you retain your seman for, and does it have any negative impact on your sleep?
-
Psychedelics are effective, if you want to do them you should. Although in my experience I have found kriya yoga or chanting certain mantras to be more effective than psychedelics. But psychedelics will get you further than meditation or self inquiry

Can you share some of the practices? -
@Kshantivadin how has it affected your sleep? Some people report finding it hard to get to sleep, because of too much energy and mind racing
