  1. @Leo Gura Obviously can't buy a condo with $10k lol, but was thinking I'd get a mortgage and pay a 5-10% down payment. Well what are my options? What could I do with $10k
  2. @Tao-izm @dalink Could be. But for me its more of a peaceful, silent static noise coming from a blank TV. Its not irritating or annoying at all. And rather than coming from my ears it seems more like its coming from my mind. I’m in my 20s, tinnitus seems more like it comes with old age. And I haven’t had any exposure to any loud noise recently. Overall health is good. I noticed it as soon as I was done a yoga class.
  3. @Nahm You’re right, I get what you’re trying to say. My current ideas about spiritual work are based on other people’s experiences and my theoretical understanding of it. I haven’t experienced spirituality to be “negative” but based on a few cases of other people’s experiences it seems a bit terrifying. For example, I’ve read that people talk about the “DKoTS” in Kundalini, which is said to be a depression phase, which I don’t doubt. It’s said to be a “layer” that we peel like the layers of an onion. Its facing the dark side of your past in the process of purification. I understand though that spirituality is unique to the individual, so people with have their own unique experiences, and some people may or may not experience these things. But maybe I have a dark past and fear is holding me back from facing it? That could be a reason why I have these concerns. Then there’s Leo’s videos on spirituality. With years of watching his videos, I’ve experienced and found most of his content to be true. Topics as ego backlash, spiral dynamics, learning = behavior change, etc. Of course I have to take the theory and experience it for myself and not just blindly believe in everything he says, but I’m quite open-minded and I don’t doubt a lot of what he says. In my own understanding, spiritual work is about destroying the ego or stripping away your own identity as a human being. And that definitely can be threatening to us. That means we have to let go of certain things. In my direct experience I’ve already experienced that myself on a smaller level. I’ve had to let go of certain friends, thoughts, experiences, in this process of purification. So if I’ve experienced purification on a smaller level, taking it even deeper is just what I’ve already been doing but by 10x or 100x. I’m 23, I’ve still got many attachments to this material world, I still want to put myself in a good position financially first and I want a girlfriend, before anything else. I still work a job, I still live with parents. Spiritual work seems like it disregards all that throws it all away. But here is why I ask my question. I feel that I would get too deep into spiritual work that I may potentially have little to no desire for these material things. In Leo’s recent video “The Dangers of Spiritual Work,” the quote in the beginning says, “Its all fun and games until someone loses an I.” That quote is so deep and it really spoke to me. It seems like there is no turning back and will interfere with our daily lives. It’s great and all, unconditional happiness, destroy fear and other limitations, but I’ve got my life ahead of me and it feels like I’m throwing it all away at a young age. I don’t even hang out with anyone anymore and do things I used to because of how deep I took this. Another reason for this thread, my membership trial is ending very soon at the yoga studio, and to continue would be $100/month. To continue or not to? I don’t know. But the main drive for me to continue is that maybe I could meet a girl there?
  4. @ajasatya I’ll replace the word “finding” with “understanding.” @Nahm @ajasatya Main reason for this thread: I don’t know why I do the spiritual practices. Spiritual practices lead to awakening right? And the reason for holding myself back, is that I focus on the “negative” sides of spirituality. Do I focus on it too much or is it rare for those things to happen? Plus, I don’t know what I want out of this. I treat it like its just a regular hobby of mine.
  5. I feel that I’m quite happy on my own, I love my solitude. I don’t feel like I need anything really, other than to grow myself and to reach financial independence. But then comes along an attractive female that I see at the gym or at work. I often try to prepare before I see her so I can maybe finally talk to her for the first time. Drink my tea, do yoga, meditation, listen to motivation audio, sleep well, etc. But then I don’t talk to her. These moments are the only few times I feel unhappy in life. My dating life is non-existent and makes me feel worthless. Crazy thing is that I used to do pickup and approaching a stranger is nothing new to me. I’ve done hundreds of approaches back in the day and despite all that, it still feels difficult for me these days.
  6. @AlphaAbundance I haven’t done consistent pickup since 2016. Haven’t really been out much since then. @Leo Gura Thanks for the straightforward answer. Being blunt is so me, which is probably why I resonate with your teachings.
  7. I was listening to Leo's video on Conscious Politics Part 3, and he brought up a good point on the fact that those who are lower on the Spiral, won't care about these deeper topics like universal love, if its a starving homeless man on the streets for example. He mentions that those who haven't met their basic needs yet, won't be focused on Self-Actualization as much. So that made me think, IF the Actualized.org community's biggest obstacle is money or reaching financial independence, should Actualized.org focus more on helping those who need to overcome this obstacle so we can focus on actually doing the work? I certainly don't know where everyone is at on the Spiral or where they're at financially, but I'm just making a suggestion. I know personally I'm not where I want to be in terms of my finances yet, so that somewhat holds me back from doing most of the work. It's great to see the direction the videos have gone so far, and I'm sure there's a huge list of advanced topics that Leo needs to cover. But what about the more practical and basic topics such as achieving financial independence or potentially a Money Psychology part 2? Will we never see those on the channel again? It definitely seems to me that with the current direction the videos are going right now, those who have stuck around for a while will understand the new content and grow with Leo, but new viewers will come in, see the advanced content and leave. Unless those new viewers come in, and binge watch the videos for mental masturbation. I shall add a poll to this thread, Agree or Disagree.
  8. @Meditationdude What business or source of income do you have to become financially independent? And did you already have that source of income going before you quit, or after?
  9. @John Iverson Great, hope you have an enjoyable experience with it Maybe start with once a week, then you can try increasing it to once a day. It's really up to you and what works for you. I would do some further research on it though if I were you.
  10. @John Iverson You can try it for yourself and come to a conclusion based on your own experience. People experience marijuana or any other psychedelics differently so try it for yourself. In my opinion marijuana isn't that much of a big deal compared to other psychedelics like LSD or Shrooms. It's legalized here across Canada, and people have been using it for medical purposes for a while now. ADHD is one condition that is said to be cured by medical marijuana. I will also say that I was a frequent user in Highschool, and was able to quit whenever I wanted to. Personally it was not addictive for me. But addiction depends on the individual. Some may find it addicting, some may not. These days I only use it at low doses when I feel like it. Lower doses seem to have a bit of a meditative effect on me, higher doses turn me into a potato who contemplates nothing or even fearful thoughts.
  11. So we know the theory of the truth of reality, but does that actually do anything for us? We understand the theory of why people are the way they are, but sometimes we still feel that we dislike or hate them and their habits? We understand the theory of all these other things but what purpose does it serve other than to feed our interests of the complexity of the world?
  12. @flowboy Honestly I have a ton of books I have yet to read but I’m thinking of buying that one to give it a read. Care to share a bit of tips you found helpful from the book?
  13. What is a good plan for eventually becoming financially independent?
  14. Looking for a good website that supplies vegan protein at a decent price
  15. @Rigel Not in the trap, but need to be able to sustain the muscle I have. Of course I’m not going overboard with it and taking in more protein than I need. @effy01 Will check it out. @Michael569 No shipping to Canada?
  16. It’s so easy for us to theorize about this topic when we’re the ones sitting comfortably behind a computer or smartphone, and not the one experiencing the devilry in my situation. Not saying I have an extremely terrible situation but it does bother me to some extent. I live in a city where a good portion of the population, are asian people. I’m asian myself, I’m filipino. Throughout my life out here, I’ve encountered a handful of Chinese people. I’ve made friends with them, and worked with them. In my experience, I’ve found them to be the most manipulative people out of any other race. I believe it is the way they grew up. In my opinion and observation, asian parents tend to think that verbally harassing their kids is a good way to get them to learn. Then this grows onto their kids, and they grow up to be a psychologically dysfunctional adult. Last year I dealt with verbal harassment from a Chinese boss in my workplace, then was illegally fired. Now in my current situation, I started working for a stage green vegan company, but we recently hired a Chinese guy and I still experience the same subtle manipulative bullshit. His insecurity leads him to try and make me feel stupid. If he does something to make himself seem stupid, then he seems to feel the need to make me look stupid too. How does one live with all this? Does years of spirituality and self-actualization work really give you the ability to be fine with this in YOUR experience, or only from an outside perspective?
  17. @mikelyons Helpful, thanks. I live in canada by the way.
  18. I will definitely become a patreon for that
  19. @ivory Honestly I usually do stand up for myself and call them out. I’ve always sat down with managers at previous workplaces to express my thoughts and feelings about my problems with other co-workers. In fact, my last workplace I was illegally fired for being a whistleblower basically. Now handling some stuff against them.
  20. I was the same way in highschool, and still somewhat dealing with this issue at this point in time but it's gotten a lot better for me these days. Based on your username, I assume you smoke weed. Personally I've found that weed makes me paranoid and anti-social with frequent use. I've read online and on medical marijuana packages that with using marijuana, there's a chance of the user developing schizophrenia. And of course, lack of motivation and reduced social engagement is one of the characteristics of schizophrenia. BUT, don't take it from me, definitely try and look into it yourself. What worked for me is just working on myself in any way possible. Whether its the gym, eating healthy, reading books, etc. Another thing to add to that is that I pushed myself to work in customer-service based jobs where I would interact with customers and co-workers. I worked a handful of front-of-house restaurant jobs and I would definitely say that helped me. The final thing I will say is that, it will get better with time as long as you are making an effort to change it. Once you stop, then your progress stops. So find a friend or some friends, socialize with them and keep them around. That will help to develop your social skills.
  21. The main goal, would be to get your money back, but not destroy the relationship. What are some healthy ways to handle the situation of family members owing you money? I'm sure there's many manipulative ways to get the money back from them, but that only hurts the relationship. I often fall into this situation myself. At this point, it doesn't matter who it is, I don't really trust anyone with money. There needs to be some sort of collateral before I start lending anything. I could name a couple people in my life and in my past who owe me money right now.
  22. @Truth Addict Actually I didn’t go into much detail about the ticket. Me and him went on a vacation to our home country, he wanted me to go, first time meeting my cousins and aunties and uncles. He said he’d pay for my ticket cause I’m frugal and $1000 on a vacation is not a wise decision for me. If he’s paying I’ll go so I went. I stayed for a month, he stayed 2 months. After I left he gave me the $1000. At that point its like cool he paid me back. When he was coming back home, he had to buy a one way ticket. He has no credit card so I had to use mine and buy the one way for $1000. Then theres the money gone again. When he got back he only gave me $200 when I asked. So technically he didn’t pay me back in full for me buying HIS one way ticket back home. But who cares, I’m asking a general question and my situation doesn't matter. Even google has better answers than these ones here
  23. @dimitri Nah don't like that answer. Leo posts a recent video on letting go, so now all forum members start theorizing and answering threads saying "Just let go." Letting go is mainly a technique of letting go of the emotions attached towards something, not to sit around and let people step on you and take advantage of you. @Truth Addict Good one. What information? The question is there, how do we handle this situation in the healthiest way possible? Doesn't have to be my situation, just the situation in general. Want information on my situation? Dad said he'd pay for my flight ticket, had a great 1 month vacation, went back home, didn't pay me back. -$1000. Years ago he also didn't pay back car payments that he said he'd pay me back for. Never got that back either cause I didn't do anything about it.
  24. I don't know if I would say it helped me grow spiritually but just an interesting game I played recently is "Untitled Goose Game". It's a new game that came out 6 days ago on PC and the Switch. Basically you play as a Goose and run around town messing with humans doing their everyday life things. It's a beautiful game, silly but fun and interesting to play from the Goose's perspective. I know you're talking about spiritual growth here but Runescape is one that teaches me about markets, finance, investing, etc.
