  1. Well, according to the forum's trendy solipsism belief it would mean that god imagines itself to be a masochist
  2. Yea, if you got eaten by a lion it probably wouldn't be hunan, most likely just eaten raw.
  3. It's because Republicans are all for big government theocracy that love authoritarian dictators and hate freedom despite what they say to the contrary. If Trump was the president the US would already be in the war... on the Russian side and he'd be trying to drop nukes on Ukraine because he wants that to be part of his legacy.
  4. @AdeptusPsychonautica Were you referring to my sarcasm as a derailing force in the thread? I hope it did derail the hostility of the posting because we can discuss the topic and points without the antagonism and personal vindictiveness. Even if you didn't start it or weren't the worst or whatever I do understand how being attacked online can dehumanize the whole discourse but I appeal to your humanity and understanding that if you rerail(?) the discussion back on topic you do so with compassion. Thank you for your consideration and contributions.
  5. @Inliytened1 It certainly is in light of how the current political landscape has become. Looking at how the political parties have become almost like ideological cults with some extremists on the right even openly and eagerly talking about civil war and violence as the only way to 'resolve' it.
  6. @Danioover9000 My impression is that culty behavior is way more prevalent than people realize, so much of society is ruled by it from social norms to religious belief to consumerism and on and on. Even though there is definitely a concerted top down effort to control people, their thinking and behavior through all the means of society it appears people willingly volunteer themselves to be culty because of the desire to belong. Even if Leo took every possible precaution to distance from any cultiness people would still behave this way because it's been ingrained in their conditioning to do so. It may even be accurate to argue that humans have a natural social disposition that leans towards it.
  7. ...if you're the only one who e.... eh, never mind.... I mean it.... NEVER MIND!
  8. @Danioover9000 This is the cult thread, the solipsism thread is all the other threads until Leo comes out with a new video topic, then all the other threads will be that topic. Although, remember, you're the only one that exists and everything is imaginary including this reply... so why are you taking to yourself?
  9. The feature film is imaginary, the viewer is imaginary, the screen is imaginary, the popcorn is deliciously imaginary, it's all imaginary!!!
  10. ......but since you're the only one who exists doesn't this mean it's your own criticism of yourself and you jumped the gun and you who is replying with this to you as a reminder? So apologize to yourself for it!!!! HAHA
  11. There sure are alot of posts from those that say they don't exist.... or is it only my imagination? HAHA
  12. It's kinda amazing but not surprising what is going on in this thread about cult accusations, ironically this is some pretty heavy culty cope. Rather than severing attachment it seems some are growing more attached. Take a deep breath and just let it be.
  13. @softlyblossoming Well, since you took the time to rephrase it to ask I can say the short answer is... yes. The longer answer is it isn't something to be done in 'each' moment as if the present moment is a bunch of individual moments strung together. The mind will try to 'taskify' our being present as 'doing not doing' that it has to keep doing to accomplish the 'not doing'. Seeking answers to questions, gaining knowledge, understanding or finding truth becomes a task that the mind will use to distract from being awareness. These are used by the mind to fill a void, an existential yearning which creates so much self suffering instead of it's cessation. Even meditating gets taskified by the mind as a practice to do, set aside time to do it, and 'oh I haven't done my meditating yet so I better do that or I won't get the thing done I'm seeking to do'. Abiding in being awareness is presence in the now and is effortless, seamless and timeless. We may 'practice' meditation at first to help us become awakened to our awareness so we can view the activity of the mind and not be consumed by it. Although, ultimately to be in 'abidance' without efforting to be present will transcend any activity the monkey mind creates. So, to be clear, there will be activity in the mind even though we are abiding in awareness. All sorts of thoughts, emotions, inner dialog, impulses and urges will spring from our subconscious mind. Not to get distracted and attached to them as our identity will cease self suffering. Eventually, abiding in awareness will inform the mind to be attentive to awareness as well so the activity of the mind will reflect that presence of being. It's rare to happen instantaneously, most often it happens gradually like a flower softly blossoming.. :). I would encourage everyone to be aware that any work we may be doing as 'spirituality' or 'self actualization' or however one wants to call it isn't allowing being awareness to happen, it just happens. All that work does is discipline the mind so it's not a distraction to being awareness. Though, the common issue is the work that is supposed to cultivate the mind to be less of a distraction to us abiding in awareness serves as one of the largest distraction to being presence. We become so focused on the path we get lost on the journey. So, yea... there's the short answer and the long one. haha
  14. @softlyblossoming Reading through this thread I can't help but see the 'conditional' mind at work setting up hoops to jump through, obstacles to overcome and goals to achieve for something that doesn't require any of them to be..... just being. Even 'seeking' is an inner activity the mind sets up so it preoccupies our awareness to search for something it imagines we don't have. To acquire a state or level instead of simply awakening to the realization we are already complete... in being. All that activity is a distraction from being present, it's motivated from desire because the mind attempts to fill what it perceives as empty. Of course, you will read these words, maybe understand them but likely not enough to satisfy so compelled to do more activity. Leave the activity for the body to do what it needs to survive because as the cliche says, before liberation chop wood, carry water, after liberation chop wood, carry water. Awakening isn't doing anything, it's realization that there's nothing to be done, it is being. Or you can just keep doing stuff you think will make something happen...
  15. I would add that the word enlightenment, the conceptualizing of it, the seeking of it and much of what is taught about it serves as a distraction from and stumbling block to the cessation of self suffering. So purge all thought about enlightenment from the mind.
  16. I haven't watched all of DrK's videos but the only instance I've seen of him mentioning ayurvedic ideas, that dosha stuff, and covid is when he said his colleagues in India were able to predict the COMPLICATIONS associated with covid, not whether someone will get it or not or whether they will die or not. My assumption would be that these colleagues were looking at patients who already had covid, were using the dosha types to make a prediction of what complications the patient would experience and then seeing how accurate those predictions were. Who knows if true but DrK doesn't appear to be making any medical recommendations from it. I'm not advocating for or against it and sure I have no desire to spread pseudo science or misinformation but I also see accusations that don't match up with what I see going on. There are fair criticisms to make but it doesn't help to exaggerate or fabricate just to make them. Not accusing you just pointing out it seems to be happening.
  17. There's quite a bit of legal and regulatory concerns that I know very little about so won't offer a conclusive opinion but to the layman's eyes there definitely can be things that seen happening. The idea and practice of addressing mental health issues over the internet, live, while streaming to an audience that are compensating both participants in the event is quite a new phenomena. Any professional that ventures into this uncharted territory will likely make some mistakes which could effect their practice but it also gives some material for regulators to build a framework of guidelines that protect the patient and allow it to happen in a productive way. The participants who went on with DrK were doing so willingly, there wasn't any coercion but it can be argued were they fully aware of what they were getting into? I don't know. Can there be a set of guidelines created to better protect the patient, the professional and the process? Surely there can. Possibly ensuring that there is no open declarations of the doctor-patient relationship, that it's all taking place under the guise of education and the professional can not diagnose, prescribe or directly discuss any previous or current diagnoses or prescription. I'm not saying anything for sure, it's not up to me to decide these things but I think it's beneficial that people get exposed to what has some of the appearances of therapy, see it's not threatening and can actually be helpful as well as the stigma around having therapy is eroded. I don't know that DrK in this particular circumstances should be legally or professionally held responsible, liable or have his license effected by it, it's not my decision to make. I just hope it doesn't go completely away because people need help and online is a way to get it when it was so difficult to previously. As far as the ayurvedic stuff, there's even been some body typing that has happened in the west like with the 3 'morph' body types developed by Sheldon in the 40s. I don't know how effective that or any of these typing systems are for anything health related and I wouldn't care to guess what help or harm could happen if they are incorporated into mental health therapies. Obviously anyone getting into a convo with DrK should be aware he may talk about this stuff and they should have the choice to veto any inclusion of it if that is their choice. Yet, people are saying he's spreading covid misinfo with it but I only saw one quick mention about predicting complications using that typology, I don't see any medical recommendations or prescriptions based on it. I wasn't aware of him saying don't take precautions or not to get the vaccine or anything like that because of it, just some vague comment that it appears he hopes would add some unspecific credibility to it. Not a good look but not necessarily dangerous unlike the misinfo coming out other places that has caused so much confusion and conflict. This is definitely an interesting situation to watch unfold and it will be even more interesting to see how the profession sets new guidelines to regulate this. Well being is a primary focus of what I prefer to engage with online as well as in real life of course because so many are self suffering. I just don't want this to be another distraction and actually add to the likelihood that self suffering persists or increases.
  18. @aetheroar Your whirling mumbo jumbo is right out of the new age bullshit generator... you fit in here. Just be.
  19. I see the conquering hero has returned to look down their spiritual nose at everyone here to judge them not fit.... at least according your own beliefs. You really said this in the middle of all your naming and conceptualizing? If this is your truth you would live it but since you say one thing and do another there's another word and idea for that. You could have just posted this and left everything else out, someone who has the realization of this wisdom would recognize that yet it's just a word salad without being 'one with knowing'.
  20. Let's be clear here folks.... it's all story. So when someone is selling books, retreats, courses and such they aren't selling anything except a story that distracts from the old story by giving a new story. Leo is just a very gifted story teller... a story of nothing. If you think it's anything more than that you are just telling yourself a story. Transcending our story so just being presence.... now that's quite the story.
  21. It seems the phrase 'abiding in awareness' is an accurate expression of it. Being awareness as well. Any of the insights and wisdom one would perceive in being awareness are just artifacts of the experience and the presence or absence of those doesn't add or detract from 'abiding in awareness'.
  22. Jokes on you.... I was never here because there is no one to be here, no here to be and no you to have been joked.... at least that's how the story goes.
  23. Wait.... aren't we already in a time share? Since we are in a god share which the time share is a subsidiary of it along with consciousness share, space share and experience share. Maybe if I sell all my shares I can afford to retire because I'm so tired of this sheet, so tired I need to be re-tired. Thank you.... I'll be here all week!...maybe.
