  1. @Thanatos13 You are not the one who chose to manifest into this body, so you have no authority over when it should end.
  2. If one were to really want to progress in consciousness-work, how much time of meditation and self-inquiry is recommended? I know I must find my own balance, but I’d like to have a standard set that I can work towards or stick around so that I can be sure that through the years, growth is happening, and remind myself of that. Right now I meditate 1 hour in the morning and 30 min in the afternoon. Next to that I do 30 minutes of self-inquiry in the evening.
  3. @Girzo I plan to do that in the future when I have all the time in the world to commit myself to this. I might even go and live in a monastery or ashram for a while. But for now, I want to meditate and contemplate as much as I can next to finding my life purpose, studying hard for school, and reading books.
  4. @Joseph Maynor @LaucherJunge @Danielle @nightrider1435 Thank you guys for your suggestions. I’ve committed to always being mindful throughout the day, which already I feel has been becoming easier and easier. So that is a big component of growing spirituality that I’ve added in my daily life. It’s very difficult but very satisfying. I guess I will just keep experimenting with different amounts of time and balance between contemplation and meditation. I both love these very much, so it will take some time to figure out the right amount of time for both of these.
  5. This week I am studying for a testweek I have next week. The things I have to study are Economics and Mathematics. Just now I was really wondering, if I contemplate what the nature of Math is for example, and get a direct hit of what it really is, will that help me study and grasp the material better?
  6. At the end of this month I will get to the 90 day mark
  7. I’m 18 and got it together. You have to be strategic and find ways to earn money and save it carfully. Saving money is one of my weakest points but I still managed to do it. Just find ways for yourself. It’ll payback more than hundredfold.
  8. @Charlotte Me too! I’m going to try Kundalini yoga. Have fun ?
  9. @Tony Tellez It is very inspiring and gives peace of mind since every time you come across an obstacle, you remind yourself of the Hero’s journey and how it works, that gives some relief.
  10. @Tony Tellez Watch Leo's video on the Hero's journey. He covers these points you are talking about there as well.
  11. I really like the new system. Everything is much clearer and the Hierarchy on the forum feels a lot more flattened out. It’s easier to just read everyone’s comment without getting distracted about how high they are up the ranks. @Leo Gura
  12. @ajasatya That sounds really freaking cool. But how can I discern a good yoga school from a 'I want to get in shape' yoga school? I want to master my body, something I recently found that I'm very passionate about. Which kind of yoga would be best for that? ,Having the spiritual side still attached to it but also a focus on optimal bodily health, receptivity, and sensitivity I am even considering spending 1 year or so at an Isha foundation ashram when I have enough money, freedom, and responsibility to travel.
  13. @phoenix666 hahaha, when I saw my own name pop up from another account I was like “ What the hell??”
  14. Amazing story, cool to find another Max_V from the Netherlands who is into self-actualization
  15. @Charlotte I had extreme panic attacks a while back as well. The only thing that helped from my experience was breathing slowly into your stomach and letting the experience wash over you. It indeed feels like you are staring death in the face with that fast heartbeat and the body going completely nuts. Make this into something you can grow from, rather than suffer through it. Seeing it as an opportunity to grow and sitting through it no matter how painful will help, you gotta have faith that this is just a temporary phase and that, like all phases, it will pass. Good luck, I wish you the best. <3
  16. I like insight timer because it tracks how much you meditate very well. Seeing the statistics from a while back next to today is motivating
  17. Peter Ralston is coming to the Netherlands this summer for a 6 day long contemplative intensive. I plan on going there since I really love his teachings and have the feeling that being in such an environment for a week could really deliver some growth and having a talk with him could help me a lot. I was wondering if any of the people here that have been to an intensive led by him and could share their experience. I feel very lucky that he is coming.
  18. I have been starting to take notes on everything a while ago for my commonplace book to help me compile my conceptual knowledge and remember it easier. So during Leo's videos I take a lot of notes which sometimes concludes in me having 14 pages of notes after a 2 hour video. I feel like this is pretty difficult, this 2 hour video can easily turn into 3 to 4 hours because of pausing and taking notes. Also I find it quite hard to discern the absolute most important stuff from things that I already have heard about from other videos or books. My question to you guys is, how do you take notes -- on Leo's videos in particular -- and how do you get a clear sense of what's important to write down? Thanks.
  19. I think that it could work If you don’t get caught in their unconsciousness and stay on the path whatever the circumstances, you will slowly infect the other person. Your unconditional love and higher consciousness will start to influence him/her to such an extent that it could change them completely and make them inspired to take on the calling themselves.
  20. @Ayilton Good point. I’d love to do it this way but often times I can’t fully remember the exact sentence to describe the concept I want to write down best because of everything said afterwards. I will work on this though, might be able to do it when my note taking levels up.
  21. I just started last week. It’s very much worth it already.
  22. Trust your judgement. If you think you like this girl and she is 18 you could give it a shot. Don't blindly buy into the cultural assumption that the people who date should be close in age. My aunt and uncle met the same way. He was 28 and she was 18. Although at first this may seem weird, they don't care about it. They are happily living together without worrying about that stuff. So contemplate it for yourself, without taking other people's opinion into account. Do you want to have a relationship with her. yes or no? Don't wait long with this. Be decisive and don't play with her emotions.
  23. @Jamie Universe Very helpful, thankyou! I’ve been looking into outline note-taking this afternoon and it certainly seems like a very efficient way to take notes. I will experiment with it and see if it fits me
  24. @Girzo yeah haha, I’d rather be taking too much notes than too little. guess I have to find some balance here
