@Victor Mgazi Sounds like Nietzsche, he says that those who have freewill dare to promise. Also says that man is disqualified from making a judgement about life. Instead of the idea of Freewill or Determinism, more the idea of a flux. A build up a of "Will to Power" or reservoir of unconscious energy. Similar to Heraclitus that the notion of left contains, within in it the notion of right. Kind of like spray and pray. -

Leibniz Monadology would seem to be a metaphysic that allows for a degree of free will. There's an Audio version of it on Audible, recently released. In contrast Spinoza's "The Ethics", which later influenced Leibniz, has a hard determinism, as Spinoza says as "we can not be sure from where our actions come" and that we can conceive of an absolute infinity, as mans highest faculty. He also says that devotion to humanity and a group is important, and that there should be a welfare state that is maintained by terror. If we could be sure from where are actions come whether directly from individual infinities or conscious monads, or from an unconscious mind, perhaps basically the same. Then freewill in some capacity would be possible, but arguing for freewill, diminishes freewill, in multiple ways. No ONE EVER starts a thread saying "YAY we have freewill! aren't you glad, aren't you lucky...…." Talk of programming brings to mind the NPC meme... "if you think you can, or think you can't you're right." Anyway, broadly contemporary Aristotelians have the A is A, The law of non-contradiction (Usually objective extroverted thinkers). Nietzsche Metaphysics, A>B. (Usually Subjective Introverted thinkers) Where as Leibniz, "The Identity of Indiscernibles", A is not not A. http://www.informationphilosopher.com/solutions/philosophers/leibniz/ Curious what more potent metaphysics might be out there something to ground on, or be deluded by, don't care, whatever's the most potent or convincing, to me. Need more powerful crack. I remember Leo mentioning that Jainism has a good or pure metaphysic something like that. -

I think Spanish sounds good, it's clear, unlike French, and has a nice rhythm. Portuguese sounds very closed mouth like whispers. The Scandinavian countries, at least Norway, sounds like BAR BAR, Yaar Yaar but like chewing bubblegum. In contrast, home county English is a lot more closed mouth, with not a lot of vowels, American English is a lot more opened mouth. I would have thought German is the Language for engineering? The verbs, I guess are quite straightforward in English. Phonetically English is not so brilliant perhaps. The subjunctive can be used sometimes a lot in English. I guess with English, kind of tells a story in a way. Like in the video, tends to consume other languages as well. I think some of the concepts that can be conveyed in different languages, would be very intriguing getting to know some of the differences.

The truth stands on it's own. Not sure if that's right or not.... Intuitively I feel it is. -

I intended not to have 60,000 classified emails hacked into, and/or discovered on a non secure server. I intended not to get caught having an affair. I intended to hand in my homework, but the dog ate it. The power of intention. -

context dependent. For example. "How are you today?" Or "how are you feeling today?" (Don't know the person) Usual response: I'm feeling great how are you doing? (Possible, that you are genuinely interested, but for expediency keep to the usual) More Honest response: My day has been utter shit so far.... Or I had a fucking excellent day I just banged this broad.... Can I just open an account, I would prefer not hear what offers there are.... Or what are you my fucking doctor. @tyler7415 Ok so how are they satire. What are they "satirizing"?

I don't think Surgeons would fall into the category of bullshit. Plastic surgeons can see the benefits of, but more because society is even more full of bullshit. Doctors I think would depend of what. Medicine a bit skeptical of, but as a last resort, what choice do you have? Kind of a Hobson's choice, take the medicine or possibly die sooner.

@kieranperez Micro steps 1) What's your War Chest or budget. 2) If you need a break, consider doing some volunteering around California(somewhere not local). At the least, you'll meet other Americans and Nationalities. 3) There's life coaches on the forum. Maybe ask them for advice. 4) There's people in way worse situations then yourself, not sure if that helps. Myself(probably), and then way worse than me... 5) From what you've said you are working? I think most replies have assumed that you're not. If so feeling burnt out right? One more note. Dude you live in California!!!! fucking CALIFORNIA!!!! It sucks in the UK, it's cold wet and rainy.

Alcohol has probably kept more people alive, than it has ever killed. But as a depressant, see the other impaired side to people right. That shitweasel was fairly memorable, from the movie Dreamcatcher.

Planted a few trees about 200 or so. Parents have a small piece of land, about 5 acres. Was wheat land for decades no rotation so very compact, no top soil clay & sand, marginal land. On average many farms are probably about 10,000 acres near where I live anyway. Planting trees isn't always necessarly good. Portugal has a lot of Eucalyptus, which is really bad for that environment, but grows well in the climate. Same with many pine forest in Europe, partially due to CAP subsides. Water is really fucked up in some places, like acid in Barcelona. Heard that pig farming pollutes the water table. Grazing if well managed is generally good for the environment, leads to rotting, rather than oxidation. Less chance of wildfire and deserts, dates back to when there were more predators other than man, and therefore larger herds, which compacted & layered rather then split grasses. Using less resources isn't stopping climate change, just slowing it. Same mindset of I saved 50% in a sale. No you didn't you just spent less. Having said that I'm defintely a net drain on resources, probably like 99% of the world's population. Banning Nuclear was possibly bad in Germany, meaning they're dependent on Russian Gas, and wasted vast resources. Things like high tax on heating oil in the UK, has lead to a return to wood burners in cities, so beginning of a smog again in London. Climate changes anyway, the environment matters more. Recyling for the most part is stupid, except things like metal sometimes, mostly manufacturers and gov cartel with programmed obsolence. Women also consume way more resources than men in general, shoes, clothes, cosmetics, children, healthcare, fashion goods.

I would say a revolution, although a weak one. Movement would imply a goal or goals if so what? Conservationism is still born. Completely destroyed as a viable force. Leaving socialism and a massive power vacuum. Temporarily filled by Trump in the USA. Demographically can Red & blue go faster to orange, than orange to green and yellow. Given in flow and birth rates, I would say no. Red and blue were destroying orange in Europe(still probably are) up until 50 years a go. Well populations have trebled in many third world countries. listen to anyone on the net, as long as they have a "snazzy" website, at least once and sometimes without. I try to think of things on the Internet as an RPG with respawn, not get too attached. Personally I think Whiggism (Proto- Classical Liberal) or no politics would be best, but that ain't happening in a democracy/oligarchy(with mass tribal preference) or in the modern world with massive lobbying.

He does use the term subconscious towards the end of the book. So I guess the "uncognized" aspect of our direct experience, is a useful way of thinking about it. Subconscious perhaps being the progression aspect. The contemplation is useful, as you can work through what something means to you. I remember anger being touched on in Spinoza's "The Ethics" parts of which are similar to "The book of Not Knowing". I think the overview is well worded. Mostly I'm trying to throttle more knowledge, I think "The Book of Not Knowing" is better than "The Ethics". Not sure what else would ape it. There is a lot out there on mind, consciousness and psychology. Will probably listen to more of Leo's Books on Scribd. But also to other author's like Montaigne and Jung. There's a lot out there to fillet, or consume a few whole. Still oportunity cost, but boggling how 10,000 hours can be spent on one PC Game like Crusader Kings. I have Steam(gaming platform) so can see the hours people expend. I would definitely re-listen to The Book of Not Knowing. Probably multiple times, and then read and disect it thoroughly. -

I would say that the theory of the subconsious mind is largely BS. Although highly prevelent in self help, Christianity, and mainstream psychology. And that it'd probably alienate the bulk of an audience to talk about it, in a mainstream productive way. A short search on google, shows that many psychologists, gurus, Daoist or Zen Masters, often hold a unconscious theory of the mind, at least in part. People such as, Peter Ralston, Abraham Maslow, Carl Rogers & Eckhart Tolle. Whether a subconsious action would be more applicable after Enlightenment, or in mainstream self help, maybe. I think there can be an enomorus possiblity of getting lost in an unconscious theory (Zen, or Xen if you've played Half Life). What I'm interested in is whether there are any good theories of a subconscious one? I can't seem to find any. I think it's probably beneficial in many ways if you don't hold the unconscious mind as actual. What I have noticed though, is that people for the most part are heavily biased towards a subconscious interpretation of the mind. Christians due to Moral Responsibility (Freewill), Avowed Atheists tend to follow a behaivourist model (Determinism), also subconscious, except they tend to disown responsibility. Although they may also be an Atheist and accept freewill through Ayn Rand's Dogma or Adulterated Aristotlianism. Taking the unconscious mind as actual I wonder what implications it really has? I doubt NLP and affirmations, have validity in that case. -
On a scale between 1 to 10. Personally I would say between 3 to 4, a relative 6 being possible. Not ugly in physical appearance. Anything 2 and above is game, for most men (80%+). But that's focused all on the base lower self, and highly relative. 10) A Greek God. 5) Average. 1) Walking Death. As for how, you meet men that is highly dependent on context and situation.
