  1. Ditto on not knowing where to start. The hero's journey sounds great and all (I just bought the book on it), but I have no idea how to start it or what I am supposed to do to follow it. Leo did say in one of his latest videos that he was going to make a video in the future about where to start in personal development. Maybe that will count for the hero's journey. I've been meditating for an hour for almost 4 months, working on the life purpose course, and reading some of the books recommended on the life purpose course. After the book on the hero's journey I will buy the book list. So I feel like I'm at least trying, and not just talking a good game, but I feel like there is more I can be doing. Then again if the test results come back bad in a month this might all be nothing.
  2. @Leo Gura @Salaam Aren't they causing more pain and more problems for themselves by killing others by risking the chance of wasting their life in jail, karma, future guilt, being paranoid and worried that there might actually be an afterlife that punishes the bad? It doesn't seem to me like it is the easy way out at all. I really like these quotes, they really made me think. I'm a logician and I'm nerdy for thought provoking content like this. How did you become so smart and so well versed in all of this stuff? I always think this when you are able to provide so much content in a video each week. Like how are able to learn this much every week? I thought the hero's journey video was pretty inspirational from the life purpose course, but I find it hard to believe that everyone who truly does the hero's journey comes out with the medallion from the forest. I feel like the hero's journey guarantees you the medallion as long as you go through all of the steps. I can't imagine that everyone is able to succeed if they do the proper steps, some must fail. I disagree. The hero in books and in movies is always the straight line. They are trying to protect what they currently have while the villain is fighting for change and fighting for something that they want and believe in. The hero to me seems to be fighting for the status quo.
  3. Why do you think death is an illusion? I have not heard you say that before.
  4. What about someone who gets cancer and dies? Are we supposed to blame people for not coming up with a cure?
  5. yes I am but you could substitute a lot of things in that place
  6. Leo's insight post about karma confused the hell out of me. I kept rereading it trying to take stuff from it but it still made me just as confused. What did you guys take from it? How? What is happening in Syria right now is needed? In general I don't get this topic.
  7. Are you doing exposure response prevention (ERP)? There have been studies done that it helps with OCD fears. It has helped with me, but usually I get too afraid of doing it.
  8. I was asking Leo, but that's good to know lol!
  9. Lol What are the differences you have noticed between Russian culture and American culture?
  10. I know you kind of mentioned that you didn't want to mention what you did, but it is hard to help when we don't know what you did.
  11. I don't understand exactly what you are saying here. Are you referring to Leo's video "how to get rid of strong negative emotions"? The best technique I have found for dealing with negative emotions, and this was talked about on that video, is to force myself to focus on the negative emotions and not run away from them.
  12. Whatever you say Leo I will agree with, at least for the most part, because you seem to have this field of actualization mastered in a lot of ways, and I am no where close. So, with your statement that I quoted what does that mean according to my life? If 99% of everything I do is emotional (I've been thinking about this since you posted this and I've been surprised how accurate this statement now seems to me) does that mean I shouldn't trust my actions because I am basing my actions based on emotion and not logic? Thanks
  13. I heard a few years ago from 1 of your videos that you were going to create a video that explained what eating unhealthy food does to your brain, are you still planning on doing this video?
  14. @Leo Gura What exactly do you mean by "being"? Do you mean enjoying having the capability to see, feel, and hear instead of being dead and (most likely) feeling nothing?
  15. Question: Leo, when you were struggling when you got out of college, what motivated you to keep moving forward with your life and not giving up? Why didn't you decide to give up?
