Never heard of him. Looked him up on Wikipedia and reading this breath method, I thought, "wow, good way to have yourself pass out". Then, found this on there- "Wim Hof has been blamed by relatives of four men who separately drowned in 2015 and 2016 when practicing his breathing exercise. They died after suffering shallow water blackouts in swimming pools.[20][21]" ----------' Anyways, imagine having MS for 27 years. I've had so many, well meaning ppl tell me...try this...try that...read this book. ...try this diet...wait, no this diet.........no thanks, I'm good ! -

@EvilAngel ok, well, in my personal life and I'm 48. I only knew 1 other person officially diagnosed with Bipolar. Maybe it's the crowd you hang with??? -

@Martin123 What? Well, of course I deserve to be Bipolar free. I also have Multiple Sclerosis, since I was 21. I deserve to be free of that too (I do fine tho), but ya know what, I honestly don't worry about either one. I just take my meds and carry on.... I make adjustments, as needed. -

I'm totally fine. Why are you saying I need hope, for what? What are you inferring? -

I choose to not live in denial. It's extremely important that if you have been properly diagnosed by a psychiatrist with Bipolar that you're medication compliant. It's irresponsible to tell ppl otherwise. Unless you would like them becoming manic or suicidally depressed on your shoulders? I'm a suicide surviver -year 2009. So, don't lecture me. -

I have Bipolar 2. My mother who didn't raise me past 5 yrs of age had Bipolar 1. Medication compliance allows me to function properly, then like any other person emotional/mind/body has to be addressed as things arise. I'm also a nurse and worked on a psych unit for a time, so have professional experience as well. -

@Jack River That's only diabetes caused by obesity. Not all diabetics are sugarholics or obese. -

Oh, and regarding the amount/rate of diagnosis, which I don't know what it is or why you think it's high. Perhaps some are not being diagnosed properly by a psychiatrist. -

I'd say you haven't done enough research on Bipolar disorder. You don't "learn" the disorder. Studies have been done on family members (twins) that weren't raised together for example. Why do you think there's a spiritual component? Is there a spiritual component to diabetes? -

From Mayoclinic.org: Causes The exact cause of bipolar disorder is unknown, but several factors may be involved, such as: Biological differences. People with bipolar disorder appear to have physical changes in their brains. The significance of these changes is still uncertain but may eventually help pinpoint causes. Genetics. Bipolar disorder is more common in people who have a first-degree relative, such as a sibling or parent, with the condition. Researchers are trying to find genes that may be involved in causing bipolar disorder. -------------------- My opinion is that there is no spiritual/ ego connection, more so then anything else. It's a mood disorder and ppl can be on any point on the mood spectrum. As there is Bipolar 1 and bipolar 2 disorder with a bit of different symptoms (ie, Bipolar 1 has mania vs bipolar 2 hypomania). Many ppl with bipolar take there meds and live a fairly normal life. While some, that are effected severely will have issues regardless of medication. So, it depends where they are on the spectrum and also how committed to being medication/therapy compliant. My 2 cents. -

@Shanmugam Hi!... Am I to say, "yes"? If so, then, Yes. Of course, I would support someone being wronged or accused, for no reason. Even though I know nothing about South Indian Society or how that will bring justice to injustice for this person, but good luck with it all friend. ? -

@peanutspathtotruth Everyone on this forum thinks something different. I think what I think and I have reasons behind what I think. I never said this wasn't the case. It still happens in the mind, as I said or you wouldn't "ever" be aware of it. I really hate forums. All the misunderstandings. Such as waste of time going around and around with ppl. -
Ananta replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@robdl Yes, I see what you're saying. It also depends whose mind we are talking about...hehe.? One mind may be more prone to this, then another. -
Ananta replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Intellect discriminates, judges and reasons. Lower aspects of mind, act compulsively, it's the intellects job, so to speak, to pull it together and make the decisions. I think emotions/feelings stir up more so with lower mind, imo. -
Ananta replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Gligorije Perhaps your wordage is different from what I would say. Firstly, you can't ever be out of a moment, but you can be thinking of past or future and not focused on the here and now. Imo, to be mindful you are focused in the present (not past/future), so try grounding techniques, like the breath or focused on/off on a part of the body (like your hand) and remind yourself that thoughts of yesterday and tomorrow aren't needed "now ". -
Ananta replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Pure Awareness is a non-experiencing witness. It is called a witness only figuratively, because without the mind, witnessing can't happen. The realization one isn't the mind paradoxically occurs within the mind. -
Ananta replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Intellect doesn't mean thought or intelligence. It is the discriminating "function" of the mind. Pure Awareness is "reflected" within the intellect, causing the sense "I AM". -
Ananta replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Jack River I didn't read most of your post, I'm sorry it gives me a headache, trying to follow your reasoning. Did you/do you know that Self-realization happen's in the intellect? -
Ananta replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes, and this true witnessing takes place in the mind (ie, intellect), otherwise you would be ignorant of it. -
Ananta replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@peanutspathtotruth woooo weeee! My point, any perceiving, conceiving what so ever is in the mind, which intellect is the dicriminitive function of the mind. So, if the mind isn't functioning, well, then you would not have these thoughts now about your experience. Peace out -
Ananta replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@peanutspathtotruth You can think it's no longer happening in your intellect...but, it is still happening in your intellect. ?
