@The0Self I see. Well, I'm glad your off the heroin and feeling good..? I had a friend in nursing school overdose and die from herion a year after we graduated and my childhood friend lost her son after him trying it once.
-
Hm, if you've always been happy and never been depressed, then why turn to heroin? Something seems off with that.
-
Your lucky. Wish I could say the same.

Thanks!? Happy Thanksgiving ? -
I smoked for 30 years! Started young and was pack a day by 13 or 14. Now, my throat and lungs are completely fine. ? Yeah, hot liquid breaks up the phlegm better then cold, but if you have a bad real coughing spell drink a whole glass of cold (or lukewarm, not hot) water at one sitting and it'll help... or did for me.

"Tobacco smoke slows the normal movement of the tiny hairs (cilia) that move mucus out of your lungs. When you stop smoking, the cilia become active again. As the cilia recover and the mucus is cleared from your lungs, you might cough more than usual — perhaps for several weeks. However, cough and most other respiratory symptoms, such as mucus production and shortness of breath, continue to improve for up to a year after stopping cigarette smoking." "In the meantime, you can speed the process by staying well-hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids, such as water, tea and juice. Taking a couple of teaspoons of honey at bedtime and increasing the humidity in the air with a humidifier or vaporizer — particularly in cold weather — might also help. But there's no reason to suppress a cough with medicines unless it affects your sleep or causes extreme discomfort." Mayo Clinic

Oh, I see. I was a hard core vaper too? Loved nicotine I guess...smoke or vape! Glad those days are over.
-
Actually, I was just as hooked on vaping. I tried vape without nicotine and it was awful. Went back on the nicotine train within a day.
-
I had to throw them out the window while driving if I had any, otherwise I'd go back in the garbage to get them. At the end, I mostly vaped, but still I had to get rid of all my expensive vaping supplies before abstaining worked.

Wow, very sorry about that. Guess they asked you to lunch to bully you? Thats awful ? Not much you can do. Of course if your work has harassment laws and they bully you while at work then you can report them. Otherwise, avoidance is all you can do. Looks are only skin deep and fade for everyone over time. They aren't what is most important.

I mean that my insomnia started roughly 11-15 years ago (I can't remember exact year). Also, I meant that I really can't/couldn't sleep without medication, whether its a sleep med, a sedative or melatonin and yes, once I took them I was functional. I tried prescription sleep meds first. They just didn't work good for me, so we went to a sedative...but, melatonin has worked for me also. Your welcome.

Yeah, it says 2371, but if its been on that number for awhile I would assume it's because it has not gone above that number for members online at one time, but dunno for sure. That's a lot of ppl on a forum!

Nice! My dad smoked for 50 years and one day just said, hmm, I won't go buy any and see what happens. That was 10 years ago or so. Lol

I've had insomnia for about 15 years or so. Nothing works for me unless its prescription usually. However, when I was working at the hospital I started hear a few doctors telling pts with insomnia to start taking over the counter Melatonin. I talked to the pharmacist I knew there and he said that yes, they found out it works great for sleep. Most common doses are 3, 5 and 10 mg if your insomnia is that bad I'd try 5mg to start, if interested. It normally has no side effects and no hang over effect the next day. Or not, its up to you.
