It is so sad to witness. The collective epistemic damage they have inflicted on public opinion her and all the fox-like institutions is equivalent to the plastic there is on the oceans. It will take decades to undo. The root cause for me is the low quality education system, 95% is reciting. No political class so kids understand how government ought to work, no psychology class so kids understand behaviour and when pathology starts, no basic logical class so kids understand how to form sound arguments and learn to debate on topic and not appeal to authority nor emotion and most importantly no epistemology class to understand what knowledge is and where to ground it on. If we had a solid education system, fools like these would never pass through the cracks, and we would autocorrect as a species. But this is wishful thinking since it ain't so. And now they view education as a "left-wing indoctrination facility". So, even the medicine that would correct this pathology is attacked now. Cancer is attacking cancer medication, who would've thought 🤣 Look at where we are, look at what the white house is tweeting... https://x.com/WhiteHouse/status/1913241658579440126

Anyone who isn't against Israel's genocide is an epistemic scoundrel, point blank period. Perspective on Israel-Palestine is a better litmus test than opinions on Trump. More potential has someone to be epistemologically sound from a place of liking Trump than agreeing with Israel's genocide.

If such a person can get an audience, even if this is ragebait, it tells me everything I need to know about the average American. https://x.com/TheTwinsPod/status/1909732898321879533 Another example of tremendous self-deception: https://x.com/Acyn/status/1913023872036970612 To be honest, i dont know what would be worse, for them to do it on purpose to manipulate public opinion, or do they believe these things and dont care to be accurate or truthful.

Are we gonna be so nonchalant about this? If you care about "conscious anything" in these times, your only goal should be to get rid of Trump and make a democracy 2.0 that is idiot-proof, meaning no bad actor can destroy it from within. Like Aristotle said, "The Purpose of Knowledge is Action, not Knowledge" and I agree with that quote in the political context. Conscious politics entail helping society evolve from whatever stage it is at. At the current state of an imminent threat of fascism, if you aren't actively acting against it, you could be called an accomplice. Way too many people wanna talk bullshit about conscious politics when in fact they dont even the balls to embody Red/Blue and defend the constitution. Talk is cheap, action speaks louder, and only through action can you embody a stage. Are you guys gonna wait until they come to deport your family members? Do you even have the courage to shoot an ICE agent if you knew he would 100% deport your family member to a death camp? Compliance = consent and submission to fascism makes you a slave, not a conscious philosopher. This isn't specifically aimed at Leo, but to anyone who acts as a "yellow" e-philosopher but can't even embody red/blue. -
I was watching this video and was contemplating if consciousness increase through psychedelics was even possible to be seen as some "brain changes" though mainstream science. I haven't found the way to combine science, yoga, consciousness and psychedelics in one precise perspective. Should we discard science when talking psychedelics? Do we focus too much on the subjective POV? Is any perspective higher than the other? I can argue any of those but I can see that it disregards other perspectives. What do you guys think about this video in general? @Leo Gura Do you think a Leo x Dr k talk would be productive for your audience?

I would guess Leo cheats or abuses takebacks in these games. It is one thing for the bot to play weird "computer moves" and another to see Leo do the same. You dont get to play 91% accuracy unless you are 2200+ elo in standard chess and if you are 2200 in 4 months of playing the game you are 100% cheating. Anyone familiar with chess knows bot games are suspect in the first place, why not play versus humans? Maybe you need that takeback Not buying it.

@Leo Gura This is either wishful thinking or just ahistorical. You have taken the development of America up to this point for granted. Why didn't you build actualized.org in Russia? Do you think you would be able to post about substances and even, God forbid, talk against Putin? Of course not. I don’t understand how you aren't alarmed enough by how fast things can go to actual full-blown fascism. Fascism isn't a thousand years away; it is fifty, if not less, for some countries. Some of our parents lived through it, and experienced it, it is not far away. Not to mention that the system doesn't self-regulate to make it impossible for bad actors to do real damage to the democratic process. Yes, people will continue to do their jobs and strive to build businesses. Still, the most fertile ground to do so is a democracy with the least corruption possible, not an idiocratic authoritarian regime. Trump keeps pushing the pedal to authoritarianism as hard as he can, if everyone postpones action until things are irremediable, then we have made an enormous strategic flaw.

Free speech isn't Binary, imagine it like a volume knob. Trump slowly by surely turns it as much as he can toward the fascist side. Objectively speaking, if you live in the US, your freedom of speech is far less with Trump than with any previous president. -
@yetineti The lack of foresight is astounding. If you would risk waiting until martial law is in place you have failed strategically. If you guys can't take the hints where this is heading I dont know what to tell you. Hopefully, I'm wrong, but I'm usually not.

Saying things "haven't changed" is the ultimate cope. People left and right get mistreated either by being transported to a neighboring country's jail or denied entry to the US just cause they "tweeted against Trump". And this is the beginning, things dont look good for the USA. If you willingly stay it is not a matter of "things not changing enough to leave" but a lack of accountability and integrity to adhere to someone's values. A fascist society will never be a good breeding ground for anyone wanting to build anything worthwhile on.

Guys how shady, anyone can get one lucky prefire in the <130ms range, the thing is to show your average. The one highlight doesn't mean shit. @Leo Gura Your hardware matters a lot, the faster the mouse, monitor, etc the better your results will be. edit: dont forget to try this also, super fun and challenging: https://humanbenchmark.com/tests/sequence

So funny how even the right wing of Florida dissed this rapist. Tate is pulling way too often the "matrix" victim card, not so alpha male of him if you ask me 🤣🤣
-
Trump has outdone himself, he has fucked up more things in 2 months that I thought would take years to ruin. If anyone is intellectually consistent he either leaves or finds a way to clean the mess. You can't give up your country so easily and it is already slipping through your hands. I dont even know what your options are but id love to hear some ideas. Let's say the usual "wait and see" isn't so appealing in such a dire situation.
-
Good point Emerald, that was the biggest issue with this approach of Dr K even in a psychological context in his attempt to include these guys he arms them with more victim narrative and doesn't encourage them (as a psychiatrist should) to find the reason they are so desperate for such a narrative. @Leo GuraYou approach it strictly politically, in this context I understand dr K doesn't want to get political and wants to approach it from just a psychological perspective but he failed miserably at that as well.
-
Dave's issue is that he thinks any criticism of science is from below, he doesn't understand the context that science can be criticized from above.
-
That would be awesome, Dave especially is so smug in his ignorance

They all try to cater to Trump and his alleged beliefs. Even the prime minister of my country Greece somehow ended up coming out against the so-called woke stuff. These grifters only know how to bullshit, it is so annoying to witness. They have no values they just parrot whatever fits them to stay afloat pathetic spineless behavior by unintelligent and self-centered minds. -
@Leo Gura Is he? It is easy to armchair philosophize but when the rubber meets the road and your freedoms are at stake, only action can save you. America could EASILY become an autocracy in the next 4 years since there aren't any legal guardrails to prevent it. His concern is more than valid. It is easy to speak against the status quo in a democracy, it isn't so in a dictatorship since they line you up and kill you. Dont forget many Western countries that are now considered developed have dealt with fascism and dictatorships not even 50 years ago.

@lostingenosmaze I watched that the other day, it is so underwhelming seeing Owen being so clueless about politics. The bottom line is if you dont have a model to understand politics aimed to progress a nation, you will dumb it down to social skills as the major skill to be a politician like Owen does. People need an explicit understanding of systems, tools, and institutions and less airy fairy stuff, this was painful to watch.

@JosephKnecht These ideas are more up-to-date This is the exact fundamental premise in my mind when I end up with that precise solution I mentioned. The fact is that real philosophers will never be elected to positions of power in such an underdeveloped and cognitively impaired society hence the best we can do is minimize the human factor. Not to mention that democracy will always retard the progress of a nation, meritocracy would be ideal but a sick society has a flawed perspective of what is actual skill and understanding.

Actualized Quotes #078 This is a great idea but let's address the relativity of the situation, you can't tell if someone is intentionally lying or just misinformed and there is a high level of difficulty if you want to enforce that. Also, notice that every tool that can be used for the collective good can be used for someone to abuse the system and be used to discriminate. That is why the government first needs to become airtight in terms of structure, efficiency, and honesty and then get that much power so someone can face consequences based on something they said. If this was already in place I could easily see scammy Republicans like Trump co-opt it to gain a political edge and witch-hunt their opponents. At the end of the road, the ideal government needs to have the least amount of "human factor" possible since the human is a flawed being that is inherently self-biased and can't act without being affected by self-interest.

This whole fantasy of a "holy land" belonging to them is an existential issue, nobody wants to deconstruct their fantasies of identity. Hence you see them easily justifying 40k dead than deconstructing and dropping the fairy tale story about that land. The more lies they tell, the more disdain they create for themselves, hence making their survival more difficult. Survival goes full circle, the egoism that creates these atrocities for so-called survival always ends up backfiring.

@Inliytened1 If you repeat a lie 10 thousand times you may believe it but that doesn't make it true
