  1. @Dodo Lets assume that the non-existence of the I also also but an idea. Everything exists as personal self as it does not. Everything is relative from other perspectives, but the truth which is experienced by the I is absolute. Experience from the self cannot be relative because it is the self that can only experience itself and nothing else. I notice that there seems to be two distinct views. One where everything is reasoned from the no-self/non-duality/non-symbolic truth and the opposite where we view our truths from the personal self/duality/symbolic interpretations (thought, literature, aka things we interpret with a certain meaning). I think both perspectives are equally true because we still live a human life and within this context symbolic things do have meaning, but the value solely depends on you. Whereas the "absolute" non-identity, void, is where it all arises from but we cannot practically build upon this because it is not based on growing the self, its basically the opposite. So I assume that absolutes exist within relativity which are in turn again relative and absolute in their own temporary way. Like finites (concepts) exist in the infinite (void), they go hand in hand to make reality tick. So can't we say both arguments are right. Reality is so paradoxical ?
  2. @Dodo @Loreena But I have to add something guys, we live in a reality where everthing is based on relativity. Without there wouldn't be the appearance of different perspectives, the sense of time and space also rely on this. So holding a claim that everything is relative is in the most fundamental sense correct. All are believes build on top of that therefor reflect this aswell.
  3. @Dodo Leo got a video on Sceptisism about this. Sceptics are even sceptic of their own believes ?. One sentence to rule them all, we know nothing. Maybe John Snow was enlightened after all
  4. I think you are better off making a paper scheduel of things you want to do at certain times through the day or week. You can then see how many boxes you can check off and see how productive you are. I think productivity and smartphones dont go hand in hand. You are really better off without. Set proper goals, watch how much time you spent and stop distracting yourself from anything but the thing you put up for completetion.
  5. What we find here is passion and love for self-discovery, which is the whole thing finding enlightenment works on. To find and to realize love and passion in any story in the now with some sort of logical/rational reasoning behind it. Like you say, there is nothing to know. We all understand that, but beyond that there is this fascinating but paradoxical world of wonder and awe. We will never understand it, but attain to know it. Any perspective is valid, even total rejection of self-actualization, just follow your heart and you will be where you have to be. We are all but poets of a narrative we write together, the most epic one that will ever exist.
  6. @eskwire Is celibacy still working out for you?
  7. Seeing infinite finites, would that be an enlightened ego? Confined but limitless.
  8. From all language out there, mathematics seems to be the most amazing and complex. Is it a transcendental language where everybody seems to come to the same conclusion and is therefor the most objective in describing reality? What do you think math is? Does it exist out there in nature? Do you think math should be able to describe all phenomena that exist or will happen? What is number and why are there numbers beyond the positive natural numbers (e.g. fractions/negative/irrational)? Are math and geometry one? If math is able to describe relativistic relations within reality, aka geometry, which is the natural language of nature then it could be said that it is the language of god?
  9. @Ilya You can only change the world by loving the things you do. And if you think a relationship is egoic then you certainly dont do it out of love
  10. @Loreena I agree the other science are equally amazing in trying to describe what it happening, but math seems to be at the fundamental root to do objective predictions in any of these sciences. It is able to deliver concrete value and to me feels the most pragmatic, somehow it seems to be the root of all logic we derive in all those other fields and to me that's very fascinating Whereas mathematics might feel little bit cold the other disciplines give meaning to what is found regarding to the context where they operate in. It's nice to see how this relation is the basis of all science.
  11. I think this thread does still somewhat apply to Leo's series on Infinity and his way he tries to explain relativity. Sorry for the bump
  12. The truth of being is always and everywhere, but it does come in many different forms. Thinking of the past or the future is still happening in the present, the present is always and therefor there is only but truth. Perspective can be deceiving, there is only the present, even experiences of the past/future are present in this moment. So in short, the truth is now which is always. The illusion that something is more or less truthful is an illusion.
  13. @QandC Yeah LDR is pretty hard, especially because you cannot be physically there if someone is sad or has a great experience that they want to share with you. Good to hear it work out for you
  14. @egoeimai Thanks for your advice Oh and congratz on your 1440th post, maybe sounds weird but 144 is a very special number regarding to cycles in nature.
  15. @Nahm Thank you. But in my comment I ment it is real in the sense that it is happening, despite any labels, identification, etc. Whether those illusions of who I think I am are true don't really matter. Even thinking that they happen but they actually don't is a happening on its own haha. We are now.
  16. How can you question if reality is real if you experiencing it now? Yes, the believes might be false depictions/illusions, but the totality of all those things is reality and that IS.
  17. Are we just observers of the screen of reality, are we the screen or is the existance of an observer as the observed an illusion? And how would enlightenment and derealization relate to this phenomena? From what I have experienced, knowing that you can look at reality like it is a movie screen give great insight, but this is not preferred for long periods because you can get the feeling of watching a movie instead of being in the movie. I think enlightened persons do have insight of knowing that reality can preceived as a screen, but come back to actually being present in the play. They as to say in direct experience of what they do, not reflecting upon what is happening in a second perspective. I feel being distant of direct experience is excellent for conceptual thinking and imagination, whereas being in the experience leaves imagination out the picture (then you are all that is, mind and body). How do you experience this? Is experiencing one or the other more preferred or is it about balance?
  18. @zazed You know this reality is pretty crazy but very funny at the same time ? We are all dressed up monkeys running around on a rock flying through space. What a joke, if there is a creator he certainly has some humour hahaha
  19. @zazed Do you think most people are being hijacked by thoughts as to speak? ?
  20. The ego asks, to justify its actions. The non-ego just does, because it knows it is the right thing to do.
  21. @Leo Gura Is enlightenment the emptyness before one tries to grasp/construct/attain a perspective based on presumed labels that are not the things they resemble? You made a very nice example regarding the picture box with pizza. I realize now that this symbolic material representation also applies to mental symbolism (which are concepts/things). What I see now is that most people who try to get enlightened, try to eat as many pizza pictures as they can, but never actual eat the real thing. Thoughts and thinking is only symbolic, direct experience is truth, when one begins to understand this one has stopped seeking.
  22. @zazed Thank you for commenting. I know the truth deep down, because I am. I know that all is nothing, but it is the mind that keeps making up questions to answer why it exists. For me this will be a life long battle to surrender and tell myself to shut up, that I cannot and will not understand why I am here and that this is also the reason why I am here. I know no specific technique or philosophy is needed to achieve what I want, but I would like to know which philosophies you like the most. I would like to read about the most common ones and expand my understanding why people believe those things.
  23. @Shin Very wise words, I like it. @IVONNE He is just projecting his frustration on you. If you try your best like you said, it is not your fault to directly know how to do everything for someone's position you are covering out of the blue. Compassion is key.
  24. @Leo Gura I have experienced a complete ego-death, which showed me all that is arises from nothingness. However, I have difficulity putting this knowledge into actual practical use in the ego game. I think trying to explain/understand what it is on a intellectual level will only make me walk in circles and will do the opposite of becoming enlightened. Isn't the purpose of self-enquiry ultimately to understand that one should stop seeking? Like going full circle to realize one already is and that all external theory will bring you further from the truth? Or is there no such thing as truth at all?
