  1. looks like this IQ topic goes on in people's mind for ever
  2. i followed and watch nearly all your videos. I mean it can make your body weak for ever not just temporarily. But from your reply i will deduct it will not
  3. @Leo Gura will you do a video about the negative effects of enlightenment on the body ? I might be having a self-deception but after glimpses of no-self experience and "i'm not the body" experience I suddenly feel I'm alive for the first time. I do nearly everything consciously. But my body feels weaker than before. Sometimes I feel more nervous. I have a feeling my nervous system has become intensely alive. Is enlightenment not good for the body? I think I'm moving in this path the right way because my sex drive has increased dramatically but my body feels extremely light
  4. I've spent some time on a forum debating and arguing about the controversial guru we all know-Osho. What strikes me is that when people argue there's always philosophy behind it. It's hard to tell who's right and who's wrong because any philosophy contains some grain of truth. Philosophy seems like an airy fairy thing-which we cannot use to conclude who's more correct. That's what makes maths different from philosophy. In math we follow certain equations and the result is undisputed. But a question arises: How can we know the basic equation is unquestionably true? In which context does the basic axiom hold true? For example: On planet Earth Euclidian geometry holds true but in space it does not. And as we all know Euclidian geometry axioms have their root coming from the mind. I dare to say that what makes mathematics more convincing is because we can verify math against physical things on our planet. We can built technology using maths. While in philosophy we see almost no applications. However phiolosophy is like a something we use to choose the direction we want to take. The two still share some similarities: There are some stupid philosophy that are downright wrong, like some useless math equatios that do not help increase intelligence at all From sex to superconsciousness: There's been always a debate. Does orgasm in sex help us reach the nondual state? Or we just should follow the traditional strict path Buddhism touted which is absolute ly no sex? Just sit through all the desires? From my direct experience, orgasm in sex can take us to the meditative state, but not nondual. We will just come back, no breakthrough happens. But the same goes for the traditional meditation method. What path should we take? Should we add sex to meditation? And how to transmute sexual energy? What I have discover is meditation does increase my sex drive A LOT. I firmly believe anyone who pursues spirituality will at some point have to find a way to transmute sexual energy, not just let all the sperms go out
  5. to be fair you should go talk with more mathematicians if you really want they are deep thinker or not. Being a deep thinker is a requirement to be good at math If math did not exist there would have been no modern science. Mathematicians are not immune to being reckless and dogma
  6. @ThrowAway Are you afraid of death?
  7. hi dude, how can you know the Buddha was not corrupt? Enlightenment and corruption are 2 different variable. Don't confuse enlightenment for moral perfection
  8. I like you lol. May I add: selfish and wealthy
  9. one can have dyslexia and be good at math and logic and creative. I have never said i deny that possibility. You're making a conceptual projection on what i said. Be aware of what is talking inside you when you type
  10. what does math have to do with inability to read and speak? (Dyslexia)? Math is the ability to think logically. Logical understanding does not prevent creativity. It only becomes harmful when one think his logic is all there is. The truth is if you want to build a technology you will need logical steps, not just holistic grasp. I'm not saying math is the ultimate standard. No way. But it is surely one of the reliable standard to identify dumb thinking
  11. I've just had some profound and yet weird experiences. I wanna share and hear your thoughts. When I sit quietly in a restaurant ( I always eat alone) suddenly something went through me. I felt blissful. The whole world seemed to me like a dream ( I don't know if I deluded myself or not because to be honest I already watched Leo's video: Life is a dream). And all the desires for sex, power, money did not interest me anymore. If I had a wish at that moment, I just wanted to be nobody and stay in that moment for ever. I sat quietly for hours and came home. I meditated. Something strange happened: I remembered my weird dream. I was clear to me that the person being conscious in the dream was LITERALLY me. When that dream happened I identified myself as that man in the dream. My mind immediately contemplated: Could it be that in my awakening state I feel conscious and able to think but ACTUALLY there's a higher being that has that feeling and I'm just a vessel. I became conscious of all the irrational and stupid things I had done in the past. I felt every thought I had was not under my control. Moreover, I realized the mind was just a concept. I realized the difference between we (ordinary human beings) and geniuses is the latter not only have strong personality but also they're bestowed with more intelligence. The thought that comes to a genius's mind contains more insights and ideas than ours. 2 days after an insight came to my mind: Everything is unique in its own way. The Buddha is the Buddha, Einstein is Einstein. The Buddha cannot become intelligently at physics and maths as Einstein, simply because the Buddha is made out of certain elements that make him the Buddha. Albert Einstein cannot meditate because he's made out of certain elements that his mind always receives crazy insights. That insight feels a bit sad to me because it means we cannot change anything. The universe runs on its own accord. We're just the vessel. About EXPECTATION: In the way I see, people view enlightenment as something like super power. Honestly, Enlightenment is just an awareness-base pursuit. It does not make you as intelligent as Albert Einstein if the universe does not bestow you with that. I have a feeling enlightenment is not only not for everyone but also for people who are exceptionally gifted like scientists who have push their brain to the absolute limits and now they meditate as a way to surrender themselves in order to receive insights from the universe. The second type of people that are suitable for this path is the people who are not so creative. Their mind is quiet and that's why they can just sit and meditate. After hours meditation they receive insights about the nature of life and reality. It's clear to my that enlightened people are wiser than an average person. It's hard for enlightened beings to do stupid things because they're closely connected with their true feelings and they do not lie to themselves. However, enlightenment can make you lazy and passive. What would you expect from a person who has realized life is just a dream and he's got no control over anything? Do you really thing the person who has realized that has the motivation to go out there and compete with other people? I honestly don't see any chance for that. Take an example: Osho. He's no doubt enlightened. But what did he do through his life? Just meditate and bliss out in nothingness.
  12. Hi everyone, today is quite a special day for me. After having a discussion on the forum about the mathematics vs philosophy topic ( I started) I've and still having (it starts to be fading away though) a conscious experience. I've become conscious that all logical statements are biased towards 1 side and they will just be meaningless in the face of consciousness. When consciousness tells you to do something it needs no reason. About truth vs model: When Leo said he had read Godel's incompleteness theorem at a high level and his mind grasps things holistically I felt uncomfortable with his reply at first but now suddenly I interpret it this way: Every individual's models to understand things are different. When the universe communicates something to us, it communicates through our model. For a mathematician it does it through math, for someone else with a different model the universe does the job differently. So anyway model is not useless. It only becomes a problem when we think our model is reality. I find this thought very interesting. Hope we can have a friendly discussion, not an angry reply I just received from one member
  13. @kieranperez come on, don't feel angry just because i say something that hurts your ego. It's life that some people are not intelligent. We cannot expect to have the world where everyone is intelligent. It's true that people with serious brain injury cannot be intelligent. They can be in a nondual state though. But they cannot think properly and most likely they'll do stupid things. You're using the absolute model of intelligence just to defend your dogma and refuse to accept the harsh part of reality which is some people are born just to fail at life. Of course they can still feel blissful because feeling blissful is natural. Can mathematicians be dogmatic and do stupid things? Sure. I don't have a narrow understanding of intelligence. There are people who are very creative like novel writer and yet not so good at math. Some even don't have a desire to be good at it whatsoever and that's fine. And surely they can still do stupid things. What I'm saying is intelligence is a nuanced thing. How can you say someone is intelligent if they're rich and successful in their business but fail miserable when they switch to another business type? IF they are naturally intelligent, 99% it will not happen. The truth is I have an idealized notion of intelligence. To me, an intelligent man is the one who has an open mind, flexibility, creativity and being able to solve math, physics problems if they really want. If you really have a desire to be a mathematician but feel tired when reading math books, cannot happily prevent yourself from reading they key at the back of the book, it clearly shows you're not VERY intelligent. I'm not saying you cannot be intelligent at all.
  14. I've known for so long that you're a real deal. It's just that I have a bad habit of setting a high expectation for teachers. Even though I'm not a very diligent student compared to advanced and extremely high level students. I have a feeling you're a little bit annoyed by my question of qualification (I'm sorry if it's just my projection, maybe you don't feel anything). And even if you're annoyed that's understandable. It's natural to feel that way when a man at a lower state of consciousness ( I ) doubt what you ( at a higher state of consciousness) say. The point I'm trying to make is intelligent is a very nuanced thing. Surely math is not a 100% accurate standard but what I mean is even if some enlightened beings like Sadhguru or the Buddha really want to be as good as math as Albert Einstein they can not, not even if they learn it in a million years. What I've become conscious of is there's something called "technical hack" in math and science, physics. There are some very intelligent people but they're not so good math. And if someone is too bad at math ( cannot grasp and solve even basic problem) clearly shows they're not intelligent. The second thing I've discovered is mathematicians are usually not so well emotionally grounded.
  15. I don't know why those religions always van people from drinking alcohol and beer. Bullshit. Drink it as much as you want. When you're so disgusted with it yourself you'll automatically drop it. That's how it works
  16. Yes it's just a priori. I guess the best solution for me is to fly to Mexico to try psychedelics. That's probably the only way to shatter the 'physical feeling" that was deeply rooted in my mind/brain
  17. @Leo Gura the truth is my mind is not flexible enough. The proof is i'm yet to open my mind to what you have said. But if you consistent with yourself how can you know Godel's theorem is correct if you have not read it yet? Just like you say even Sadhguru would have to try psychedelics a dozen times before he can give any judgement? It's just common sense. You'll have to experience something before ypu can say about it
  18. @WelcometoReality it's hard to say i guess. I would say insights usually happen when you sit tight
  19. yeah. That's true i guess. Not to brag but i have had some glimses of awakening despite my stupid mind. It's up to me to feel a certain way in a practical sense even though in the absolute sense all my personalities and feelings are just consciousness taking on different forms
  20. You yourself went through Godel's proof too. Can you tell me if it's painful or interesting?
  21. I agree philosophy spawns all but how can you deny mathematicians are more intelligent than other people? I have known my mathematician friend for 10 years and he's not only good at math but also very good at analyzing situation and critical thinking. He's emotionally grounded. Of course intelligence as you say is irreducible and I'm not saying because he's good at math he's good at everything. Hell NO, but math and IT is really the standard to measure one's intelligence.
  22. @Nahm I guess i will have to learn advanced math to understand Godel's theorems anyway. You're really very specific here but it still seems to me enlightened people are the ones who just play word game without getting into the technicality of science at all
