  1. keep doing vipassana Keep fapping Observe the cause and effect Eventually it will stop by itself
  2. @Leo Gura I'm working on it lol... trying to build strong mindfulness so I can clear and consistently observe impermanence, unsatisfactoriness, and nonself
  3. Hey guys just wanted to send everyone on this forum good merit and blessings from Wat Chom Tong in Thailand! Just finished my first 10 day retreat here and I'm looking forward to the rest of my 3 month stay! Want to give special thanks to @Leo Gura for his wisdom and guidance and @AdamDiC who is here meditating with me. Without you guys I wouldn't have had this amazing opportunity to my investigation of the present moment. Wish me good luck! I wish all of you good luck and may you be sucessful in all your endeavors!
  4. @molosku highly recommend Wat Chom Tong...great food, great people, great practice that is very difficult but also very rewarding. It is a Buddhist monastery so be prepared to prostrate to the buddha every time you enter a room lol but other than that I'm having a good time
  5. I had a 30 minute conversation with a man in the park whose energy was so strong I couldn't help but feeling that he was staring through me. He said he has done lots of Kriya Yoga and Vipassana. I can't get the image of his youthful face and piercing eyes out of my mind. With only a few words he was able to untangle many of the mental stories about "myself" that I wove in front of him. He mentioned that he was 32 but he looked 22 and he also said that most of his friends were 60 year olds. I resonated with him very deeply and eventually he told me that he had to leave but that he would see me again in the future. I couldn't help but believe him. Afterwards I felt humbled and motivated to continue along my path. Such a powerful experience it is to meet a spiritually developed person in the flesh.
  6. You are very wise. Everything will turn out well for you, I have no doubt. @AdamDiC
  7. While trying to convince my stubborn father that psychedelics are powerful tools, I stumbled across a useful analogy for using psychedelics. Using psychedelics is like driving a car. They can be dangerous if used wrong. But the rewards outweigh the risks. People that don't know how to drive cars are going to get into accidents and have bad trips. However, I wouldn't illegalize cars because people get into accidents. The efficiency of cars is too great to justify a national ban on the use of cars. This analogy can be useful for explaining to a stage Orange person the potential value of psychedlics while also acknowledging that they are risky.
  8. WARNING: THIS IS DOCUMENTARY IS VERY UNNERVING AND MUST BE WATCHED WITH AN OPEN MIND Watch "The Nightmare" on Netflix. A very unnerving and fascinating account of some crazy spiritual experiences that people had during sleep paralysis including being attacked by demons and astral projection. Definitely expanded my idea of the spiritual realm.
  9. I'm 18 years old and I'm definitely stage green. Although I am very pacifist, a vegan, and have long hippie hair, it takes a real masculine man to be able to fully embrace his feminine side. I feel more free to express how I feel in the moment which is something that most men resist.
  10. @How to be wise Can you prove that the past existed? If so, the proof always exists in the present. This means that the past is always a concept, and can never be a tangible thing.
  11. ive been vegan for 6 months because I dont have access to "healthy" meat and eggs (pasture raised).... I don't eat wheat or refined sugar either I don't really identify as a vegan, but instead I identify as someone who wants to eat healthy food. I feel that my food digests faster and I feel lighter.
  12. Have you been meditating good sir? Why don't you look and see if the map is the territory? It's very effective to study the map closely and SEE if it is or is not the territory. You don't have to believe Leo but what is the best way to disprove him? By exploring more maps or by exploring the territory? Meditation points you towards the territory, logical reasoning is the map.
  13. Very close to relapse two days ago...and yesterday But I realised that when you play video games or do shit that is not in line with your life purpose...you have a much higher chance of jacking off Stay away from excessive stimulation such as video games...because it puts you in the zone of low conciousness...in this zone, you value pleasure and security over delayed gratification and presence. I'm still going strong on 50+ days keep it up guys...don't count your days and work out A LOT been going to the gym 6 times a week to use my excess energy
  14. 1) Do not orally say the labels...they are mental labels ... label exactly what you experience as accurately and as consistently as you can. Pay special attention to the fact that all perceptions come and go, do not satisfy you, and are not controlled by or happening to "you". 2) Vipassana is great for falling asleep (and for every part of the day). The goal is to label as consistently and as accurately as you can during your ordinary life and in meditation. 3) You can fix your posture but remember to label "pain pain pain, intending to fix posture, fixing fixing fixing, relief relief relief" Find a vipassana teacher near you and talk to them about your practice, vipassana may be a difficult practice without the guidance form a teacher at the beginning Go on a retreat I'm not a teacher, I just have been doing it for over a year now
  15. David Deida speaks about how Life Purpose is like an onion. There are outer layers and every time you complete one life purpose, you peel off that layer and a new, deeper purpose is revealed. I think you should continue your work to become a doctor. But you should also do some work raising your consciousness either through daily meditation or contemplation. This is essential so that you always continue to remind yourself what is truly important. Daily meditation and mindfulness will reveal to you what you need to do in your life. If you work on improving your mindfulness every day (even if only for 30 minutes), you will naturally be drawn towards what is most important. The present moment has all the answers you need. Therefore, I say stay in school, work hard, but don't forget about meditation. Read The Way of the Superior Man by David Deida
  16. I'm vegan too...before I was vegan I ate lots of sardines...I found them to be very easy to digest and they are very high in omega 3, calcium, and selenium... The reason that I do not eat them now is because I do not support the fishing companies that catch them...however, maybe one day I will continue to eat sardines. Buy canned ones...preferablly canned in water, and you can add them to a salad or eat them straight out of the can (my fav)
  17. chill out dude it was a year ago...just make a silent wish that you can renew your karma the next time you sit down to meditate..you don't have to "do" anything to make it up
  18. Try finding an online meeting group in your area of people that are into spirituality like you are and there is a chance that you will meet some people that you can share your development with! I'm likely to do this very soon
  19. Quit social media 2 years ago because I dont like seeing fake shit on my feed. Can social media be an effective tool for building a brand?
  20. thank you for sharing this you are a fucking champion
