@clouffy We’re typically living past 25, and having sex without having a baby every time. Thank you science ??. Listen to better spiritual materials, it’s all inclusive, not contrary to....and self inquire.

@BIggleswerth Welcome to the forum! Heck of a first post. Sounds like you’re doing well with meditation. I would do a few minutes or so of self inquiry right when you wake up. Awareness of awareness (I prior to thoughts) will take less and less time to ‘return to’. Consider self inquiring through out the day as well. ”This place is a dream, only a sleeper considers it real. Then death comes like dawn, and you wake up laughing at what you thought was your grief.” - Rumi -
@Fairy Slow down, and see if you can tell the difference between your experience of touching something, and the experience of a thought.

@TheIndigoKid Sounds like you realized the game is already afoot. The adventure of a lifetime. Godspeed! -
@Gog Is there a point to this post? Is there an inquiry? If so, what is it?

@lmfao It is hard to reach a goal, or make changes with habits, when the goal or the change is held as the primary focus, or, when we believe the point is obtaining happiness in the future for having accomplished the change. “I’d feel better if I finished this, or changed this about myself”, is really the same as straight up saying “I got a reason I can’t be happy and love myself right this moment”. Rather than “I’ll feel better, I’ll be more, I’ll be further along once I make these changes”...consider.....this is it, this right here, now. This. This is me, and I ain’t going anywhere. Gonna be me for the duration here. Gonna be this same now change will happen in. So I’m gonna start making enjoying now the primary focus, the inherent chief life purpose, prior to the life purpose I’ll create for this me, in this now. Changes, LP, that’s just what I’ll do in this now. In this now, enjoy the experience of changing something, just for enjoyment itself, just to experience. I’m sure you got a lot to do, got your whole “potential” to wrestle with, etc, but put how you feel now first. Slow down, enjoy. It makes everything easier. Any “big” life changes - are actually experienced as just one second, one now “at a time”. That’s all. That “big life picture” the mind creates, you’ll never actually face that, need to deal with that, or even be able to deal with that, even if you wanted to! It’s only gonna be this moment, this now. Such a tiny small “piece” we’re actually tasked with, but the mind tries to weave years of past and future into now. With this mindfulness, of course as the universe would have it, planning as well as making changes becomes clearer and easier.

@Ethan_05 Zazen is part of a cycle, it’s counter being thinking / distraction. Ego backlash is of a cycle, it’s counter being delimiting the limited mind (aka increasing consciousness). The inclination is always towards homeostasis / repetition, making consciousness work a difficult endeavor. This is a beautiful thing. It’s part and parcel of this miraculous Goldilocks scenario in the ‘middle’ of infinity which makes possible the experience you’re having right now. Eating is a constant. If you sacrifice preference in food choice for increased alignment with health / well being, then day to day you are undermining repitition in a constant / ongoing and consciousness ‘increasing’ fashion. So instead of the big swing from intense zazen (“high” conscious state) to total comfort (“low” conscious state)...your baseline comfort / repetition (via food) is disrupted / kept a little off balance; away from homeostasis, in a trajectory of alignment with well being. The swings won’t be as big, because the comfort isn’t so total. There’s a ton of delicious healthy foods to discover too, which in itself is fun & adventurous and less boring / repetitive. Ego backlash puts you right in the hot seat of the emotional experience of all kinds of cycles. A cycle is a repeating pattern of two things in relation to each other. This is duality, or twoness - a yin & yang nature of relativity. But you are aware of cycles / twoness, so you are not two things, you are The One, and you are not a thing, you are what’s aware of things. You only appear to be of twoness. “In this world, but not of this world” as Jesus said.
-
@darind One forgets it’s the “two” (duality). What emotion remains in a sealed depravation tank, without stimulus mistaken as not me?

Discipline the mind to practice first thing in the morning, when will power is max. Disrupting the diet on an ongoing basis as a practice helps minimize the rollercoaster, and aligns with health. Also, there can be as much gained from the backlash as the practice. Arguably more.

Be aware of a priori disqualifications. It’s a somewhat common mechanism to make a statement nullifying the very thing the fore-coming question will be asking about. It amounts to maintanence of one’s idea one is separate. Saying “please make your answer understandable...no bs”, and then asking if all knowledge is a trap, is like saying “I know I’m not just this body but....how come it totally seems like it?”, or, “I know better than to objectify females...but man, there is this one hottie that I just can’t stop thinking about”. If you say “I know X...” and then are asking about X, just notice you have a question about X, and so you actually don’t know X. I’d suggest looking at not knowing as a relieving & favorite state of consciousness, an invitation of sorts in which knowing actuality has somewhere to arrive. So, yes, from the perspective you’re asking from...relative to “in this work”....(the knowing of, or, actuality of, being) all thinking / all knowledge is a trap. It is all bullshit, if it is being held up to the question - “is it truth of what I am?”, “can it further my self inquiry?”, “is it truth of knowing being?” “WIll it help the unification?” No, it is not truth, it is distraction which introduces a delusion (a specific knowledge - like a factoid that is known logically by memory) to be identified with via a priori slight of mind. The means of maintaining the confusion, or, the state-of-question, is the misunderstanding itself, of what understanding is. In surrendering the inquiry of knowledge, then there is the state-of-answer, and the answer is found in knowing being rather than knowing knowledge. Not only is an attempt to apply knowledge to being a trap, but inquiring about knowledge is a knowledge trap in itself. Youtube something you know about, have heard of, but don’t understand how it works nor how to do it. Something simple....maybe “how to replace the flame sensor on a furnace”. Then watch the video. Look at the components of the experience. There is the knowing of ignorance, which allows for the search for the information (knowledge), but...where is the understanding? Where, specifically, did it happen? What is, understanding.....is it a proccess that took place? What is it, which understands? What knows it there was ignorance, and then knows there is understanding? Am I aware of an understanding, as in, a partial piece or thing which can be specifically, directly pointed to as the understanding? Self inquire the knower, the understanding. Perhaps it is the connector, which is currently unnoticed. But what if your furnace goes out in the middle of a cold winter night “Naaahhm?! Won’t seem like some bullshit then will it “Naaahhm”!!? (Aaron P & Nahm are relativity, and Aaron P wants to see if this “relativity” is also absolute, if it’s all really “being”, if Aaron P is this “being”. Knowledge, in terms of usefulness for that task, is perhaps the greatest of all identity traps). There is no such thing as knowledge of the self, so all knowledge is attention on some thing which is “other than the self”. So relative to your inquiry of the absolute yes all knowledge is delusion / aka...bullsheet. Infinity doesn’t have a need or use for questions and answers, so there is inherently no actuality of finite knowledge(s). And it’s of course all finite knowledge too, but this answer is intended to be relative to the question. ——— This post / words / concepts implied and referred to...abstraction, the thoughts it’s triggers (or doesn’t)....knowledge. The screen, the device, the air... actual being...so it “eats itself”.

@Shin Limbo, like inbetween two stages. Feeling off / not grounded or centered...made worse by remembering feeling grounded & centered and not knowing the direct path to the next stage, to transcend and again feel grounded / centered. Like you left one stage (willingness to check the messages / feelings), reached the inbetween / limbo stage (received the message / are aware of the feeling), but have not yet understood the message. Relativity looping in the sense...The bundle of thoughts, or the idea of Nahm is a thing of or “in” relativity. If awareness is seeking the knowing of it’s nature, but is looking from the bundle / Nahm idea, and also looking to relativity or thinking; that’ll just keep looping with occasional slight deviations (elevated and downgraded moods / feelings) , a potentially infinite thought loop, with awareness never arriving at the discovery of it’s nature, prior to thought. Like playing the three cups and a peanut game, but never finding the peanut, nor losing cathartically enough to seek the means of realizing exactly how it is that there never was a peanut.

Nahm replied to Harry Howard's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Harry Howard It’s rare for someone to be sheltered from all suffering for half their life, only to be shocked to their core when finally witnessing it (like The Buddha). Folks are just not likely to drop the life / lifestyle / stuff / & perspectives accumulated through the desires & motivations of materialism and separatism. There is typically a smoother transition, like satisfying and then transcending survival-self oriented motivations into inspiration from synergistic perspectives, win win solution oriented thinking, etc. In general the common barrier is the retention of individuality via projection on “woo-woo stuff”; like the vibrational nature of things, the collapsing of dualities, quantum mechanics, etc. The dilemma is the tier one boats must be burned....but they’re your own boats. If one isn’t aiming beyond turquoise, there isn’t much illumination within to work up to it. A conundrum of not getting to the bigger picture, because you haven’t seen there is, a bigger picture. -
@Shroomdoctor Great to hear. ??

@Shin Sounds like you are in limbo / relativity looping.

@EternalForest You are reality. It’s not something else. -

The more you have going on, the more “you just can’t get away alone” - so the more you must. Like desire, if we don’t care for this, it’s hard to pinpoint the unbalance because it’s foundational and all encompassing of reality. The eyes can never see it. Just gotta schedule it, even if it’s on the calendar a month out. The peace from concrete planning it is enough to trigger the relief. Life in this era is seriously complex and very taxing on us. Sometimes an intense disciplined retreat is need, and sometimes you just have to get the fuck out of here for a few days. The hard hard factor is, that isn’t clear until you’ve pulled the trigger on it and done it. Alone. Entire days full of everything you enjoy. No working, no thinking. Creative light fun stuff, nature, spa pampering, whatever brings ya back to life. You can’t just march forward day after day after day months, years on end - especially when you are making big moves forward, new ventures, transcendent to where we have been. Not getting away - it’s the unseen holding you back. Got’s ta do it. Then you can see it. -
@Shin Are comments appropriate / welcomed on your journal? I really never looked at them, not sure.

@Shroomdoctor Hi. How’s this workin out?

@SQAAD Add some exercise, yoga, and or tai chi prior to meditation...something breathing into the pain of extended muscles / stretches while maintaining breathe control & awareness. For meditation, you can super charge what you’re already doing up another level even, with earbuds and the link below. (Keep attention to stomach breathing, or try attention to the left / right moving sound). Head’s up though, in a few consecutive days or so, there is high potential for a purge / purification / major breakthrough, and if you resist - it might be not so fun, and misunderstood - so time it with a few days off work afterwards if possible. Hard to time stuff like that, I know. Just a suggestion. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5n9pLRsBx_Y Also, if you haven’t, consider learning the proper way to sing via youtube. It will push your inner body awareness through the roof, excellent groundwork to embodiment, if you’re ‘there’, or for when you get there. Sing ♥️
