@Jed Vassallo If you never heard of ego death, and experienced it, I don’t think that is what you would call it. The term is very fitting in the fervor of the difference in experience after, than it is indicative of the breakthrough part one appears to experience. Essentially, it’s not that big of a deal. You may have made a bit of a barrier out of it.

@The Don Sounds like you’re doing really great man, keep it up! You might consider meditation is a letting go, and what you’re referring to as the non-meditative state, is actually recreated. It is not the continuous thing it appears to be. Also, it sounds like the mind is quieted...? Perhaps some self inquiry would be in order...? Follow through with that Meta-gasm...? @Jack River ???

This perspective often is created from experience which was identified with, and becomes a protecting facet of personality & skews world view. Thought triggered misunderstood sensation perpetuates the apparent ‘realness’ of the perspective. This expresses as a need to establish that a person is trustworthy and reliable, rather than assessing information and examining experience for one’s self. Such an identity and belief can be deconstructed, understood, and the momentum Will shift to a lighter, more liberated trajectory. The suffering of this is perpetuated by projecting the entire experience onto an “ego”. A sort of “nothing I could do about it, it’s the ego”. There is no ego though, and the mix is not difficult to unmix. The task is simple. At what point, and exactly how the suffering reaches a critical mass, and willingness to investigate arises, not quite as simple. Also, anything anyone tells you - you are believing or not believing, and remain in the same position. Find out. Investigate. Only direct experience will do.

This sounds good, but how will we know you actually do it?

@Aakash Inspect this thing you are calling an ego. A thought is not a sensation, and a sensation is not a thought. Isolate the sensation in the body, and the thought story of a self, another, past & future are revealed. The ego is implied in the mixing, not an actual thing. The awareness of = experience. Mechanisms & causations are only apparent.

There is an appearance that there is a you which chooses to be conscious or not, but not actually. The very thing consciousness reveals. To itself. In an extreme verbalized sense, would you say God chooses to be conscious or not, or rather, God = consciousness, and actually just forgets itself? The only thing you can not do, is not be you. There is not ‘other material’ available to make a separate ‘chooser’ out of. If there were separate selves, and they were given the choice of wether to be conscious or not, they would not be choosing because they were not conscious as they didn’t yet choose to be conscious yet, because they aren’t yet conscious, because they didn’t yet choose...for infinity...because the one self is infinite, there’s no such thing as a ‘choice’, really. It is revealing of an infinitely playful nature. Saying “it” is always present is just about all that will work for the belief “it” is otherwise - that one is actually a separate thing, which comes and goes. If you created the present moment out of only you, and you exist, the present moment is made of your very existence. The idea of a you, and the thought that the idea thinks it makes a choice to be conscious or not, is not actual, but an appearance. There also can not be said there is an inherent purpose to life or not, without first creating the idea one is separate from all things referenced to derive the purpose. “It” is not a “possibility for those”....”those” are potentiality, “those” are possibility, “those” are already actually what never comes and goes.

@electroBeam This thread is really the heart of meditation and self inquiry. What you already are is beyond anything you could ever think of wanting to be.

You are onto something indeed. But, don’t believe you are God. Don’t make a sophisticated Belief of your beliefs. That “God” which is believable is only your idea of God. Empty yourself of beliefs. Don’t settle. Know the unbelievable Truth.

If “hand” is a thought you’re aware of, what is that?

@JonasVE12 Yes, it’s also cumulative. Sing as well, great means of expression and liberation. If you haven’t, consider learning a few classical pieces. Caprice 24 was a breakthrough learning / concentration for me. Check it out, maybe you’ll like it too.

Knowing who you are, rather than identity / ideas of who you are, and therefore understanding that religion is created in thought, and only points to truth, rather than contains any truth.
