  1. There are quite a few members here who value the content on Actualized.org. I'm sure most of you would just love if more people could be exposed to this type of material. Having said that, what do you think are best ways to help "spread" Actualized.org? Here are my ideas: Making sure to like Leo's vids on YouTube. It helps YouTube's algorithm to show it to more people. Telling people you know which would be at the right place for this type of content. Perhaps sharing on social media.
  2. I agree, many people won't be prepared for this type of content. Some will dismiss, others will demonize, and others might abuse it. However, I feel for the ones who might be "ready" but simply haven't found books, videos, examples, talks of this kind...
  3. @bejapuskas I know what you mean. I've had a very similar experience. Though I still want to entertain the possibility of presenting this material in a way that it'll help people. Think about this: Most people who follow actualized.org feel lucky to have stumbled on this material by chance. I know I did. So there surely are other people who would feel the same way if they had the chance to see the channel. Though having said that, at this point, Leo's content is quite deep compared to a couple of years back. I probably wouldn't have stuck around if I'd stumbled on the videos his uploading now. So maybe one can present an older, but quality video like "How to be attractive" posted 3-4 years ago. Or maybe we can present some of his newer, but not so radical, videos like Spiral Dynamics or "No Growth Possible Without Training". Food for though Like Shin's approach!
  4. The following questions have been boggling me for a many months: What is KNOWING? What is TRUTH? (Not "What is the the Truth?", but "What is the nature of Truth? What distinguishes it from Falsehood?") What is A QUESTION? What is AN ASSUMPTION? What is A PROBABILITY? I think they are quite interconnected and basically point to the same thing. Don't know if you still check this section of the forum so I'll tag you... @Leo Gura
  5. I like a lot of things about Yuval's ideas, though I am confused about some other parts. Nevertheless, I think he is a great example of a Yellow thinker:
  6. I love big picture books which don't necessarily give you the exact answers, but rather give you the tools which you can use however you and however you need. One such book, which is quite popular, is Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind. I don't like to read fast. I've tried 1 book per week and found that I was just mindlessly going through the book with the information going in one ear, and going out the other. Now I probably read 1 book every 1-2 months. But I make sure (as much as possible) to read a quality book by researching it first.
  7. How would I effectively develop The Big Picture on the many sciences of reality, BUT without wasting thousands of hours pouring over all the history books, philosophy books, nature documentaries, spiritual retreats? This post holds my (what I believe) amazing insight on this issue! I have been recently trying to figure a way to effectively develop a sound and comprehensive big picture view on the many fields of study (e.g. philosophy, psychology, science, religion, politics, ecology, etc.) . This has been important to me because as a teen / adolescent, whenever I would read something about a topic (e.g. from Leo on philosophy, from TED talks on politics, etc.) I would have a hard time understanding what was being said because I didn't know what the terminology meant, or I didn't know the context of the topic at hand. Recently I stumbled across the following book series: Big Ideas Simply Explained — Book Series Images: Example Image 1 Example Image 2 Edit: Goodreads Link To Book Series
  8. Orange rationality vs Green emotionality
  9. A insight I heard from Leo which deeply resonates with me and also which seems accurate according to my experience: The devil's in the details. This basically means that for questions of this type there will rarely be a ready answer which someone else can give you. It highly depends on your situation, on who you are, how you learn, your habits, your emotional system, your intuition, etc. You can ask someone who knows these things well about you, however I doubt anyone knows these things more than you do. My points is, you are basically on your own. It's you who must find your way. This probably isn't the answer you were looking for, but I sincerely feel it's the one which will guide you best.
  10. This is an insight I got lately which I wrote down in my commonplace book: The Tree of Perspectives What if there was a "tree" which contained all possible perspectives on reality. Some of them would be less useful, and others would be more so. Now contemplate how humans tackle this issue, how teaching and mentor-ship tackle this issue. It assumes that the perspective you are looking for has already been found by someone else, whether it be a guru, teacher, friend, etc. This is a comforting assumption, but nevertheless just and assumption. The contrary is (to me) quite scary but also a bit exciting. It says that the perspective you are looking for has never been embraced by any human on Earth. And if you want it you'll have to seek it out by yourself. There is a danger to this approach: If you follow this insight rigorously you'll find yourself in new uncharted territory, a new continent of perspectives, which means there will be no one there to guide you. You are a pioneer in this situation. The decision to be a pioneer is a risk-decision. What's the risk? You might waste hours and hours, or even years pursuing a dead end. You might go crazy — if such a thing is real. You might inadvertently ruin your life. How you ask? You don't know… That's the point. You don’t know what you're throwing yourself into. It could be infinite happiness, a new animal, a new realm, deep suffering, a pot of gold, a notebook, or maybe even something you never would've imagined in ten lifetimes. This decision should be personal and made appropriate to the situation and person. But hey, don't take my word for it. This is just another perspective
  11. Inspiring lyrics! "...Long live the pioneers, rebels and mutineers! Go forth and have no fear! Come close and lend an ear..."
  12. One Republic's songs seem to be spreading green values, especially lately. Watch the first video till the end.
  13. This is a question directed specifically at @Leo Gura, but I would love to hear everyone's view on this issue. Does the Spiral Dynamics theory imply that one can enter the domain of Spirituality / Deep Metaphysics more easily if he has first entered stage Turquoise? To clarify the question a bit: Would it be easier to embody Enlightenment / Absolute Infinity if one has already reached Turquoise as opposed to someone who is at stage Red or Blue or Orange, for example. I ask this because of 2 things: I gather that Turquoise has values such as Consciousness, Elevating mankind’s consciousness, Truth, Deep metaphysical insight, Wisdom, the wisdom of nature, Mysticism, spirituality, nonduality, God, divinity, Holism, integration, synthesis vs analysis, Integrating all religions & science, etc. These values almost completely point to Absolute Infinity. Also the examples you gave about Turquoise individuals seem pretty enlightened to me. Does this mean that for any spiritual pursuits to be effective one must first reach Turquoise. On one of the mega-threads about SD you mentioned that the Buddha, Christ, Muhammad, etc., weren't at Turquoise. How then did they embody AI / God if there was almost certainly no such thing as Green or Yellow or Turquoise for that matter? You say that Red and Blue were the dominant stages of the time. Perhaps their approach to Spirituality was a brute-force one where they say, "Fuck it!" to the stages and attack the beast head on! Assuming this is what they did, what approach do you recommend to newbies in this work - gradual or brute -force? I guess my question in a nutshell is: What's the relation between Turquoise and full-blown Enlightenment?
  14. I've watched Julien's content and I can almost certainly say that he is green. If you see the progression in his content you'll probably find that he was Orange and that he is now reacting against Orange and displaying Green values. Most of his ideas about happiness are from spiritual books from Eckhart Tolle and other gurus. His spirituality is at the level of Green, not Turquoise. Also, Julien was (I don't know if he still is) a vegan. I watched Michelle Phan's video and browsed her channel. This also seems like a strong reaction against Orange and a shift towards Green. Although she is not fully immersed in Green - her prime motive is her own happiness; there's no emphasis on loving and caring for others. Again, her spiritual pursuits are at the level of Green. Neither of the videos present systemic thinking and and multi-perspectival thinkiing. Also, even though I don't quite understand Turquoise very well, from what I do understand about it, Julien doesn't embody such deep values. That's just Green thinking.
  15. Seems to me Green with several Yellow elements. Not Yellow with Turquoise. I say Green because this guy promotes a lot of equality and love ideals.
  16. For those of you who've watched Doctor Who, I think you'll find him a Yellow thinker. If you don't agree please tell me so we can discuss why.
  17. I would say that the book list is well worth the money. Today there are literally millions of sources of information. It's just so difficult to filter everything correctly. Read the 5/5 books on the list - they're the most practical, usually with lots of exercises to get traction. Also it would help very much if you educate yourself in the basics of nearly all subjects. This will help you understand the books better e.g. the author might be talking about fundamentalism and if you don't really know what fundamentalism is you won't get much value out of the book. I recommend this YT channel for this: https://www.youtube.com/user/crashcourse/playlists?view=1&sort=dd&shelf_id=0 I watched the playlists about economics and philosophy and they really cleared things up for me. (I am not advertising. I just really like their content.) About the LP course. I recommend first getting more experience first. Try out a lot of new things e.g. writing, rap, fitness, swimming, chess, parkour, programming, reading / watching new types of books / articles / videos etc. The more experience you have --> the more you'll know what you like / dislike and what you're good / not so good at --> the more traction you will get with the LP course.
  18. @Joseph Maynor Hard work is essential. I agree. But it is not enough. Smart effort is what it's all about. Banging your head against the wall is "hard work" as well. Balance is required - hard work vs being smart
  19. In this video the reporter (mostly Blue) reacts against the dating coach (mostly Orange at the time of this interview, however now, after some time is IMO Green - see his content titles). It was interesting to me that the reporter also seems a bit Orange in the way he is commercializing his news channel. He is trained in this corporate way to manipulate the interviewee to get a "bad" answer from him so that more people would pick on him and make drama and ultimately get more views - success, Orange, yes!
  20. Using questions to understand questions -- mind bending!!! Title says everything.
  21. I know that muic (especially pop music and other similar types) are very low consciousness (they talk about money, sex, bitches, etc.). But I think that if one is able to find great songs, they can be used to inspire oneself in a very powerful way. If you know such songs that you think might be appropriate for this forum, post em here! Here are songs I randomly found throughout my past. Check em out! The first one has helped me in difficult times. The 2nd one has helped me face loneliness better; although you might think it's a bit depressing, it actually helped me get out of a depressing state. The 3rd one is actually 4 songs in 1. Even though they're animated, I think most of you will like them. Post your suggestions bellow! ?
