what the actual fuck -
@Serotoninluv you care too much about making a point. you gotta let go of that pride. when we start the journey we have the beginner's mind. everything is marvelous and we learn from many sources. the thing is... the beginner's mind is the goal! don't carry intellectual baggage with you because fundamentally you cannot explain Reality anyways. admit it to yourself 24/7 and let your heart bloom through silence instead of being vulnerable to mental concepts about you and Reality.

spirituality is the practice of becoming conscious of the root cause of my sufferings and working towards extinguishing them. notice the difference between pain (bodily sensation) and suffering (mental). -
@kieranperez why have you been experiencing anger? what thoughts have been triggering it?

ajasatya replied to egoless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
it cannot be done. humanity's been looking for solid proof and evidence of his existence for quite a while. all we have are scriptures (gospels) and rumors. but i'll tell you the solemn Truth. before abraham came into existence, i am the way and the truth and the life. be still and know. -

you're still pretty lost. enlightenment is not the result of something specific like a particular technique or event. enlightenment is the result of a LONG process of existential inquiry and contemplation. eckhard tolle, for instance, woke up enlightened after an episode of deep awakening during the night. but his enlightenment was a result of DECADES of suffering and depressing existential crisis. don't meditate? what a terrible advice. the life of an enlightened master IS meditation. -
your motivation to start this thread was suffering. you suffer because you don't feel motivated enough to become enlightened. how deep can it go? maybe enlightenment isn't for you. even reading what i write may cause suffering to you. why do you suffer? why can't you be content right now?

@Ilya thirst for Truth comes from becoming conscious of the latent suffering that's caused by ignorance.
-
@krazzer don't worry too much about that. instead, observe your bodily consciousness expanding and becoming more accurate as you practice. you can study about the asanas and it will enhance your practice. but practicing is the most important part.

@egoless notice the I that became egoless. when we say I, we think that we're pointing to a limited fragment of Reality like a body or a thought. but what we REALLY mean by I is the existence as a whole. the Universe says I through each of us.

@Shakazulu hi. we're growing up. becoming a man can hurt. -
ajasatya replied to Adam M's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
it's because only now you're really interested in learning. the humble attitude is the key. even University can be wonderful. it depends on your thirst to practice what you learn. -
@eduardo ceccarelli yes, but how can you integrate the intellectual knowledge with your day to day experience in order to create a rich and profound life?
-
@IAmJohn welcome! since you asked, i recommend this book. prem baba is a brazilian guru who has suffered from issues related to intimate relationships in the past as well. we share a common background. i hope you can channel your suffering to skyrocket out of the mud of spiritual poverty. i'll give you a hint. every woman is woman and man. every man is man and woman. let your heart bloom like a huge flower. discover your female nature and find your balance. draining female energy from women is harmful for them. and so is it when they drain masculine energy from us.

@kieranperez if you like to read academic articles as well, i recommend using mendeley.

this is lovely. contemplate how you can actually implement it. in my experience, the best way to free mankind is freeing myself first. people start to notice and ask. they feel inspired and encouraged. "dude, you're walking differently. your eyes are different! what the hell is happening to you?" "hey, what do you do to be so serene? do you meditate or something? would you teach me?" "what do you eat and how do you organize yourself do maintain a healthy diet? your skin looks so soft" Truth attract Truth seekers. i don't even do anything to them directly. i just live well. -
@Alexo45 i'd stay away from artificial methods to sustain addiction to masturbation. that's not freedom. that's more bondage. human beings have anxious desires to masturbate because we create physical/mental/emotional blockages. sexual energy accumulates very quickly instead of flowing gracefully throughout the multidimensional body. as a consequence, the energy that should nourish our creativity, compassion, willpower and intuition causes anxiety and sexual possessiveness instead. in my opinion (and experience, of course), the best method to solve this is intensive practice of yoga. hatha yoga, kundalini yoga, bhakti yoga, raja yoga, karma yoga. all of that. becoming an yogi was the solution for me.

ajasatya replied to egoless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@egoless no teaching is absolute. no set of words are unconditionally welcome. what good does it do to shout repeatedly "you don't exist" to someone who comes here with deep emotional difficulties? teachings to enlightenment are very specific. traditionally, teachings are given by a master to his disciple after days living together because the master has to know his disciple well. enlightenment is very peculiar and counterintuitive. we're not trying to guide mankind here. we're trying to attain spiritual liberation. if you want to play the role of the messiah, that's your bondage. if you want ultimate freedom, drop all the roles altogether. the process of dropping the roles may require monastic confinement for some people. but in the end, detachment is a mental phenomenon so it's possible to do it in the midst of chaos. it depends on the strength of your Practice. in conclusion, letting go of "good" and "evil" is a teaching for you. it's about your freedom. -

you have no choice! consciousness expansion is something the the Universe does spontaneously, whether you like it or not. what did you do in order to come to be? -
no, you cannot take it home with you. it's not yours only! it belongs to the society. but we have the right to drink it twice in a month (socially again, not alone).
-
that's what i did. and that's how i was able to find a calm, humble and healthy yogini to walk with me.

in my experience, i just felt retarded. meditation is not relaxed retardment. meditation is relaxed alertness. wake up!
