Also interesting to (learn to) notice, the first few dreams after deepsleep, everything goes automatically, sense of do-er ship only arises later. -

But choice > action > choice > action, implies time and separation -

Agree with the sentiment, I feel, as long as I am not enlightened, to just be, without thought or belief, is best, any thought of 'I [have free will] or [no free will]', is just self-centered bs thinking, never the less it's very interesting to observe this sense of do-er ship and see it's happening even without my will, if that will could be real ^^ -
The teachings which got me into this, had me convinced we have free will, Bashar/Neale Walsch. Though Walsch was a bit paradoxical, and Bashar also mentioned the ego's sense of control is like a steering wheel not attached to anything. Anyways, I am not enlightened, from what I belief, like, I have a sense of me, that can disappear completely afaik, and be seen even that it never was. Listening to Jim Newman recently, quite a fascinating guy whom speaks of his awakening, only he is big on the idea of you can't do anything, it's hopeless, I think as a specific teaching of him that he got from Tony Parsons, which brought about his awakening, though he talked positively about meditation as well ['what is always available, it seems to be easier for people to realize in meditation'], something along those lines. Personally I've found 'do-nothing'meditation especially incredibly powerful, also self-enquiry, and can recommended it strongly. It's gotten to the point where I get glimpses regularly at night, that I can't remember now, what ever. FREE WILL. Lately pondering this has been quite profound, as I said, I was a strong believer at first, in we have a soul, that can choose 'good' options. But what are good options really (I do feel an inherent tendency to doing good, compassion, like all humans have, albeit expressed differently)? And can I choose my next thought? No, it just arises. Can I choose my actions? Well, we all already do our best to our knowledge, through our input and conditioning, and thoughts/mental processes just happen, don't they? - This helps in reducing the sense of separate me I belief, because, if there's no free will, you can't really hate anyone, you will love everyone, and yourself, and there is no real room for guilt ! Really diligently investigate this sense of do-er-sense, from where does it arise, is it really under your control? Really? And control for what? Do you need anything really?

Yeah, if you have a wife and kids, don't you dare.. Family obligations. If you are healthy and young, what the hell?? If you are old, broke, sick, don't have the guts or discipline to life a God infused life of goodness, and find a strong need to end it, maybe, what ever, bless you, life won't hate you for it anyways. But life also didn't gave you this life by mistake in the first place, you know..

The very thought 'I am not grounded' is what makes you ungrounded. Who is not grounded? What is being grounded and and what is not grounded? Don't even bother. -
Happy explosion brother. I mean, you don't have to do it, it comes down to stillness, in mind and body, or love, but what ever you do is fine. I would write a carefully written suicide note to your past loved one's, and be as honest as you can, don't leave them in unanswered questions. And don't beat yourself up over it if you don't decide to do it. But the point is, it's accessible here and now!

Someone came up with the idea of ELEMENTS, elements dude -

Just depends, in my experience, disciplined action simply yields result, some need it more than others, but ultimately it comes down to doing nothing so yeah, no requirements there -

Can you source these claims? Seems to be contradictory from what I've read. We're dealing with different interpretations and his words were written down 500 years after his death as well.. -

Idk, I'm a noob, but ye, beginning - end - beginning. But there is an end to any perceivable form of you, and there also is an end to state of minds, and there are ends to appearances, worlds. So whether or not 'you come back', afaik, liberation is about realizing you were never in it to begin with. - Also it seems to imply life can't be inherently good, if that's the experience, then that's a pity, but you can feel good and be happy as well, without thoughts of.. what ever. -

No, the first noble truth is 'there is dukkha' [which can mean suffering or dissatisfaction], not that all life is suffering [and the 4th noble truth is there is an end to dukkha]. Don't carelessly twist the teaching. Kind of hate it when people do that. The reason I hate it is because, well, a, it's false, b, it's a quote of a great and the most famous yogi, c, it's an enormous claim, d, a negative mind can actually taint all of external life gruesome. -

Slander and then making such a claim, right, who told you that? I am not saying it's impossible, but the wise can surrender themselves beyond it, or may even appreciate it if it can help serve others in an empathic connection. -

You can destroy your life, hurt your family, friends, throw away your life. But you don't need to, nor is there certainty in that to stop the negative momentum of your mind. But yes, the point is to give up neurotic searching/doing, and learn how to rest in God, which is beyond life and death. -

With regards to 'all these guru's, all these scandals', how many teachers are there whom you don't hear about, the one's that shy away from praise or drama, but these are often also the one's whom you don't tend to hear about nor become very popular. -

No, it's true, it refers to the first period after his breakthrough. OT: Ramana: 'Reincarnation exists only so long as there is ignorance. There is really no reincarnation at all, either now or before. Nor will there be any hereafter. This is the truth.' So you are done, but you might not know it. Yet speaking of being done for external admiration, is the opposite of being done. -

Also, I think he shared an interesting experience, but he must be careful with his assumptions that doing nothing, and thinking you're done, leads to de-evolution into random bits... Ramana Maharshi sat like 16 years in mostly silence, immersed in doing nothing deeply, for long periods of time completely unconscious of the world. -
AlwaysBeNice replied to legendary's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
You can be done with suffering, the fact that you can feel good sometimes, means that this is always possible. If you remain focused either on loving and serving reality, or in humble meditative death. And breakthroughs can be made. These are the ways to avoid the suffering mind of worrying, pettiness, fighting, attention seeking, despair. -

I wasn't shocked when I read it. Do I think there is some truth to him being a bit of an ass at times? Probably, that's like, what 99% of humans do, me too, isn't that normal in relationships? Of course there's a fine line yet clear line I think between some tough love and abuse, and should be used very carefully. But especially being constantly surrounded by people who put you on a pedestal, that's not an easy task to be 'very proper' all the time, .. but we don't know do we? Just as I think there's some truth to him being a bit of a jerk at times, I also know there's plenty of bitter people out there that don't like success, or spirituality, and will try to smear it. But it doesn't really matter all too much unless you live there I guess, his teachings are good and have always been pointed only to self-empowerment. -

You can do japa/self-enquiry when working or even studying(?) right? You can do lying in bed/sitting, doing tantra, chanting, etc. in your free time? That should get you the hours quick, though it's not about time, it's about how much you can handle, which is equivalent to how well you can be still. And
