Ahah, my mind use the excuse "but you're present all the time, why meditate, it's the same thing !". It's so funny to hear its justifications, it's like a child who refuses to wash its teeths @Sevi No, because it was a trick obviously. Even if it's the same, sitted meditation is really nice to relax you even more, and to be even more aware of what you are. I even sensed for a brief moment a fraction of Kundalini awakening, I may be able to trigger one I focus on that specifically. I really want to see if I can surrender to it, now that I know what it is. Makes me remember that this afternoon, while doing my job at the hypermarket, I had an experience of no self, like everything was pure energy, and I was just a point of view of it. And it's not an experience, because you know at that point that it's always there, except you can't see it all the time. This is happening more and more, and I think it's because I stopped seeking and thinking it's something I need. Why would you need something you already are all the time anyway ? It does not make sense @Sevi No, it only happened once, It happened in my legs, and after that everywhere, it wasn't that amazing, but I sensed all my body like I never did. This wasn't what I'm reffering too though. What I'm seeking is the experience where an infinite void spring from inside out, and your mind is in such a fear state, that it instantly refuse to experience it any further.

Stop fucking seeking for a fucking experience. Pretty sure there is people who realize themselves without any spiritual knowledge. Enlightenement is just being present by stopping the identification with the mind, there is no need to practice a meditation or to read scriptures/books about it. -

Face your fears, that's the only way anything can be transcended, everything else is pure delusions. -
1st problem: You asked online. 2nd problem: You think she rejected you while she gave you a reasonable reason, so your self-esteem must be very low, which is not a state to engage a relationship anyway. So, next time, take some balls and ask face to face, but you should rather work on your self-esteem and your humor (if you're not funny), because a woman will never stay with a guy with low self esteem with no humor anyway (except maybe a really fat and or ugly girl).

The fact that thoughts appear less and less are nice, but this isn't really that important. What is important is your capacity to not get lost in them and to know (for real) they aren't really you, that they are nothing more than an appearance in your awareness, just like anything else.

We don't know much about the brain, and scientist still don't understand what consciousness is and how it impact the brain. You never feel your brain except when you have a headache, and when that happen you feel the brain just like any other part of the body. Now it SEEMS that the brain is what we are because when a headache happens, it impact our thoughts one way or another, and since most people think they are their thoughts, they feel threatened ... One of the reason we think we are the brain is that it is very close to where we perceive the world, the eyes. Have you ever wondered why thoughts seems to appear in our brain ? Why not somewhere else ? And if you are the brain, why not the entirety of the body ? How could you be "just the brain" ? That doesn't even make sense, either you are the body, or you don't. Still, most of us don't think we are the feets, the fingers, or the chest, it is seen as personal objects, not what we are ... If you are the brain, how come do you exist when you don't think at all, not even inconsciously in the background ? What are you in this kind of moments ? Do you die ? It feels like you're dead, but you aren't, so what is there ? What can experience life without thinking at all ? So what are you ? HINT: It's something very obvious, so obvious that you've overlooked it your all life. It isn't something spectacular nor that it will change your overall experience at first. It is extremely subtile and just right in front of your face, many seekers don't even realize it before their first awakening, some even still seek something else after ... If you "find" it, the only thing you have to do, is to realize it again and again, and it will go deeper and deeper. It will go so deep, that in fact, it will change your overall experience, but don't wait an experience to start doing that. This is the number 1 trap, that and the fact that most people only work on it during sitted meditation (and are still very inconscious during their daily routine ...) @Max_V No, not before your birth. How do you know for sure you've started somewhere ? Think of what you are now, never put time, either past or future to discover what you are. This can only be done now, there is nothing else than now. @abrakamowse Being mindful is already it ... Why do you think no teacher ever says they are enlightened ? Because they were long before their overall experience shifted drastically, they know that very well. We're all enlightened, right now, even if you're inconscious as fucked and totally immerged in your thoughts, it does not matter at all, the only difference is that you're not aware of it. So, whenever you're mindful, you're already the truth, except that you don't realize everything of it, yet, that's all. Now we shoudn't use this to slack off and skip our sitted meditations schedule, or stopped being mindful/present whenever we can, that would be foolish, and that's not what I am saying at all. Yes, technically you'll still be enlightened even if you don't do these things, but in you stop being present and don't do your meditation everyday, chances are that you'll go full inconscious again, and the experience of life will become again painful. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad about being inconscious, simply because you can't be conscious all the time, you're a human being, you're not designed to be 101% conscious ALL THE TIME. Just use your inconsciousness to realize things you didn't solved yet, but don't judge yourself, that's also a big trap, and the other one is to not take notes of what you've failed to do and say "oh well, no judgment right ? Then why the fuck should I try to better myself ?".

That's a long phrase to say, I hope your spouse already know you're kind of crazy, otherwise she might ask divorce (if you don't die on the road by saying that everytime a dick cut you off)

How many minutes do you meditate, and how many minutes do you think you're aware of your thoughts everyday ? @Preetom No, dysfunction is brought to you from your increasing awareness, it has always been there. This is why so many people after picking up meditation, declare an increase of dysfunctional behavior/thoughts after a certain time. The thing is, nothing really changes the first weeks/months, after a certain point you suddenly can see all your bullshit, and THEN you start to really act towards them. You can't act on something you don't even know it's there

First you think it's a concept to grasp Then you think it's an experience Then you think it's a state of mind Then you think it's the "meditation state after XX time" Then you realize this "state" is always there Then you deepen it whenever you do nothing Then you deepen it whenever you do something Then you deepen it whenever you talk to people Then you deepen it whenever a critical situation comes into your life ... PROFIT !!! -

@Afonso You don't identify with it, but the emotions are still there, so technically he could still be a pussy. It's not because you don't identify with a certain emotions/thoughts that it doesn't scare you, you just know it's not you talking to yourself. It doesn't really change anything to your life (practically I mean), if you were a pussy, you'll still be a pussy, that's something you'll have to work on enlightened or not. -
This morning, when I awoke, I was just starring at my window, fully present. At some moment I woke up and touched the thing to open the window shutter (don't know how it's called in my own language ). I saw that thing rising itself, knowing that I was rising it, without actually doing it physically. I was seeing the scene from my bed, as if I was still laying down, but I could feel that I was doing it, that my "body" was there too ... At first I thought I was in some sort of partial dreaming, but when I finally could rise from my bed (I've tried many times), I didn't wake up again ... Don't know if it may be related or not, but before that I had a huge burst of energy in my heart, it wasn't physical pain, something different. What was that ? Astral Projection ? MAGIC ?! :TLDR:

Oh boy, here we go -
Bentinho Massaro Thoughts will stop, in the sense that you realize there is no point to think most of the time. Past/future and judgments thoughts will be perceived as irrelevants, and since those thoughts consist of 90% of our thoughts, in a way, we can say thoughts stops. I guess it is possible to only have insights and no traditional thoughts at all when you're really really deep into this. There is no necessity to that though, even if you're full of thoughts, if you can be aware of them instead of being inconsciously identify to them, no problem.

I'm starting to get very interested to try shrooms and other substances now. It would be cool to mess up my mind even more about what reality is or isn't I've realize that if you take this all thing less seriously, by just being curious about it (doesn't mean you stop being disciplined, that's different), it's way smoother and you get better results @Nahm Care to explain more plz ?

The first 5 minutes are enough.

But "all the baggage you're still carrying around" are thoughts too ... Yes, be patient and don't skip your meditation, and be more present whenever you can, and it will all be very clear. You don't need the ""ultra orgasmic "rare and difficult" enlightenment shift"" to realize this. It's way simpler and easy to feel than that.

First, pursue a girl you're really attract to, and not just physically. You need to like most of her personality, and sensing that you have some kind of chemistry between you two. If you can feel a girl makes you feel this way, then it will happen one way or another, don't overthink what you need to do, just go closer and closer to her, both mentally and physically. Ask her more personal questions, be more intimate with her in that way, and don't hesitate to touch and play/flirt with her too. It will happen organically if you do all this, she may even do it herself based on her personality

Do you realize that the statement "life is meaningless" Is just a thought ?

That looks like way too much theorizing, do your homework, OR I WILL SLAP YOUR FINE ASS ! "Fine, enough cuddle, go back to the kitchen female !" @electroBeam LoL no, not gonna waste years just to be rich, I already know it's an illusion ^^ If it's not concepts in your mind, then it's just a phase that will pass, nothing to worry about -
I don't think you're more depressed than before, It's just that you cannot hide these feelings with porn and self-pleasuring anymore (which clouds the mind a lot). That's actually a good thing, inquire on why you do have these emotions
