First thing first, call a mental health team like Visitor mentioned. After that talk to your father about this in depth, don't let him change the subject, you need to make him cry in order to be vulnerable. Why I say that is because if he's vulnerable if will be more receptive to your love, and if you can make him understand that none of what he thinks is true, he could change his mind, at least temporarily. Some other obvious stuff: Don't let your father alone, not even for a second (call some friend of him, or member of the family), take coffee or energy drink if necessary. Find all the alcohol you can if someone watches him, and put them in a trash far from your home. Act now, you can't let that slide, otherwise you might regret it your all life.

That makes me wonder how dreams can seems that real, if day to day thoughts are that fake, even when we're totally in them. Would it be possible that when we dream, it's not happening in the brain at all, but we experience an another part of reality ? Interesting ! -

Find out for yourself, you can ask how much question you want, it's not gonna solve or do anything. @Joseph Maynor And you still keep asking, as if it would unlock some mystical insight that will make your realize your enlightenment. At the beginning it can be useful, but from what I see you writting, you clearly don't need it anymore. -
- The ego needs to be dissolved Calling it ego in the first place is in itself a trap, because it's how it's maintained and recreated every single second. The ego isn't a real entity, it is an illusion created and sustained by all your beliefs and concepts. - A lot of spiritual practice is required At the beginning, when you can't see the "ego" for what it is, and can't be mindful all the time, meditation and self-inquiry are extremely important. Without them you would never transcend your mind and finally face your fears. It is your fears that doesn't let you just be in the present moment, it is your fear of being alone with them that makes you do all those activities in your life to avoid the confrontation. Until you can face your fears, and actually do it, you'll never be in a place to just being able of just "being", because your mind will associate this with boredom or sadness. When you actually faced your fears, by transcending your mind and do real shit in the world, then it will be easy, to just sit somewhere, and "being" what you really, deeply are, which is a meditation and a self-inquiry at the same time. - You need to be gifted or lucky No, enlightenment is extremely simple, yet extremely hard since you have to face all your fears, even your fear of death (especially your fear of death). Anyone can do it. Now why so few people actually have realized it ? Because of cultural and religions dogmas about reality. So in a sense, yes, if you're introvert, you have more alone time by default to reflect on those issues, so the starting phase is easier to go through, And of course, you have less social influence, since you socialize less, but these are just perks that introvert have, and I'm pretty sure extrovert have others. - I can't be enlightened until I am able to be thoughtless Wrong, thoughts will always be there, yes you can enter those states if you meditate a lot everyday, but this isn't necessary. In fact, thoughts are usefull, because you can train your mindfulness on them, and if you do it everytime, every day, every seconds, it is one of the most powerful tool to increase your consciousness. All your problems in life are thoughts, so being the knower behind them and realizing they are just thoughts, will drastically lessen all your negative emotions (which also are just thoughts in an another forms), since you won't believe what they tells you anymore. - It takes time to be enlightened No it doesn't, at least not how you think about it. It needs time in the sense that untill you are able to distance yourself from your thoughts and emotion and are able to just be without any distraction, it is very unlikely that you will realize your true self. Even then, it is still a possibility, it is just more prone to happen the more conscious you are. When you are conscious, it can happen anytime. The entry point is in the present moment, and this isn't somewhere in the future, it is right now.

Hi everyone, I would like to know if some of you are doing this, and if it's effective. Right now I work from 4:00AM to 11:30PM everyday, and despite going to sleep everyday at 8:00PM, my mind refuse to sleep at this hour. So I was wondering, could I split my sleep into 2 or 3 sessions of 1.5 to 2 hours, with 2 hours of meditation per day on top of that. I know there is people who sleep 30 minutes every 2/3 hours, but considering that I have to stay awake for 10 hours straight everyday that's not possible for me. Thank you in advance

Someday along the path, all of this will be irrelevant. You won't be able to be triggered, because you'll really know and feel why those people act this way.

That's not an illusion, you're talking to yourself. You are in whatever you do. Every single thing that happens to you is yourself talking to you. There is no randomness about what you call your life. You're testing yourself all the time. -

I made the decision to go to college next year, I'm 28. Pretty sure I would do the same at 48, it all depends and your current mindset and objectives

It don't take anything from what he did. We're talking about sex here, not murder or torture/rape. Maybe in India it is seen as a devil act, but in the rest of the world, it's a basic human need.

You didn't because you didn't change your psychology and habits/interests enough to frequent different kind of people. I'm not saying that on a negative note, that means there is room to grow and that it will happen when it will and should happen.

Talking about living true to your values, today was a good day. I finally know my job decently enough to guide customer, and even if it's just basic guidance (working in a hypermarket) the egoless state and bliss that appears just after is amazing. Know imagine this feeling, and multiply it by 100, this is how it probably feels to live according to your deepest values.

What he doesn't say in the video, is that you have to commit 100% of your time to your vision, otherwise, you'll backslide again, and again, and again, to finally never reach even the starting point of what you dream every night. There is no place for pleasure or distraction, no time to waste, you either commit 100% to your dream and actually do it, or you don't. Sure, you can still be somewhat successfull by doing it with just most of your time, but you'll never be one of the best. Being one of the best isn't in order to be more important than other, it is because you want to excel at what you love to do, and to do that, you can't aim low, you have to aim even higher than what you think is possible. If you actually find your life purpose and live your life accordings to your personal strenghts, then there is no reason to do anything else. Nothing else will make you fulfilled except that anyway, not even your dream partner. So you gotta really ask the question why you aren't doing it ? Why don't you go all the way ? Well the reason is simple, it's because deep down, you know you can.

As long as you're making progress bit by bit, it's not a problem. If you backfire to the point of regressing, that's an another story.

God, can you at least give me 24 hours between every of your major test, thank you. -
Quit now. Quit and do what you feel the need to do without any things that sidetrack you. That's the only way you can do great things in life, and there is no reason why you couldn't if you actually make the decision.

Well, I promised myself I'll never tell it to anyone, not even my "soulmate" if that ever happen :3

It's not because you love someone inconditionally, that you don't make them understand that what's they are doing is stupid as fuck. You can still love intensely someone and still breaking up, because there is too much abuse (or any other reasons). It's not because you love baby Hitler inconditionally that you would let him kill millions if you have the power to resist him in some ways. If you love inconditionally, that also means you love everyone else too, and you would want to save them from the mental turmoil of loss, slavery etc..., maybe even kill Hitler if that was possible (despite you loving him).
