  1. Enlightenment. You may temporarily feel like you belong to some group or to a certain job, but ultimately the only way to belong to anything is to actually know what you are existentially.
  2. Jokes apart, it could be possible (seems to be a neurotic approach to it.) Listening too much audio/music isn't really healthy either. Cut some hours for some walking meditation with no audio.
  3. Force yourself to do it, just 20 minutes a day. You'll do self-inquiry later, but now you have to pick one habit to install. What is even more important than that is to watch your thoughts all the time, without judging them (and if you can't, not judge your own judgment), this isn't an habit per say, it's what needs to happen if you want to get unstuck. Nothing will be truly solved until you bring the light of awareness on it, you may temporarily solved your problems by achieving them, but from what I experienced (and many others can confirm), is that it never NEVER fix the core problem. You will always find another problem to complain about, that's the trick, even if you solved all your problems now, new ones will come, that's guaranteed. You don't need that, that is a trap. It's one of the favorite trap of the ego, to think the current situation doesn't allow for enligthenment work. It's an internal work, not an external one, nothing has to change. In fact, the worst your situation is, the more easy it is. Why ? Because your suffering is a catalyst for consciousness. You may think a nice life situation would help, but in reality, most people have that and that is why they aren't conscious, because they cling to their "not so bad" life. You want the perfect condition to do enlightenment work ? You already have it. Look at the past of any teacher, they all suffered greatly, this isn't a coincidence. All of this stems from too much past and futur, you always think about what happened and what may happen (or think won't happen). Of course this cannot make you happy, it's not real, and can't be, because it is either already been done, or is just a figment of your imagination. This is only an issue if you let it be an issue, in reality there is nothing wrong from your current situation, it can't be wrong because it already is, how could it be wrong if this is what is ? Could it be that a mechanism of your mind refuse to be in the present ? Could it be that this very mechanism depends of the past, the futur and the struggle that stems from it to survive ? Could it be that you think you are this very mechanism, and this is why you struggle so much to do any enlightenment work ? You're right, it isn't. It isn't a good strategy, because it implies something happening in the futur, and the futur is a pure illusion of your mind. You may think there is actually a futur, but if you look closely, the only thing that really exist is now. The futur is in your mind, and consciousness is beyond mind, beyond time. The only way you will realize what you really are, is in the present. This is literally the only thing you have to do, just be in the present. What's the present ? Ask yourself "What will be my next thought". The gap between this question and the next thought (wheter it is an image, a sound or a sentence) Is the present. You just have to cultivate that untill it naturally becomes a second nature. Don't chase an orgasmic experience of oneness, or something like else like this, it may or may not happen, this isn't important. What is important is how much in the present you are living your life, everything else you hear about is just fantasies that your mind will cling to, because the default state of it is to solves problems, not to be at peace, not to be content.

  5. I FOUND THE ANSWER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT A MINUTE ............
  6. Stop all news, it's just negativity for the most part anyway. You might want to argue, what about positive stuff ? Well the problem is, these news are always in between 10 bad news. Even if it was possible to only know about good news, it's still not in your favor, because the more stuff you "learn", the more monkeymind you will have. It is an addiction, an addiction for the mind, because it needs new stuff to complain about, stuff to start debates and doing mental masturbation, its favorite activity just after daydreaming about how much life is unfair or how much life would be better in x days/months.
  7. That only happens if you have a spontaneous enlightenment, lots of people have a gradual one, which means they have a lot of time to acclimate.
  8. Of course it can, awareness is always there, it's just not aware of itself. If you can't be aware of daydreaming, it may be because you're not conscious enough to do the do nothing meditation. I would say it's not a meditation for newbie, but I still feel newbie myself, so maybe it has more to do with understanding exactly what you have to do. After all people seek for decades, when their teachers tells them in 1000 differents ways to just be present, so everything can seem complicated I guess
  9. There is only one way to know, and it's not by asking questions.
  10. @Socrates Your situation looks like mine. The only major difference is that I'm at peace about it. You may think it's a bad thing, but actually it's this peace that allow me to take the right actions and actually change for the better. It's only been 1 year but so much has changed internally, yes from an external point of view it seems nothing has changed (except my mood), but if I had the choice to choose between all the personal developement skills in the world + 10 billions dollars, and internal peace, I would choose peace. Yes at some point you will need a better structure in your life, and you will have to drop some habits that takes too much time (maybe you need to do some of those things now) but what's more important above all is to chill your mind and starting to becoming one with life. From this state you will take the right action anyways, and even when you backslide (which almost always happen), you will just laugh at it and still keep going. Your main focus should always be to be conscious and to live in the present, it's the only way to appreciate life and doing real personal developement work. If you don't, then you'll tailchase some fake dream, learning and becoming good at something useless for what you genuinely wants to do. Or worse, not having any dream and just becoming the "perfect guy", for the sole reason to be the best and have all the success/money/girls. Most problems become non-issues when you get past the mind, so what you should do if you want real progress, is to do MORE spiritual "work", and less traditional personal developement, because not only most of them are about fixing some imaginary problems/fake goals but they just make you inconscious and way too much focused on them. If you can overcome the compulsive desire to think, then everything else becomes easy, and you will start to get some really juicy intuitions about what you really wants to do, instead of what your mind tells you to do.
  11. From my point of view, it doesn't matter what meditation you pratice. They are all about putting you in the present moment, and once you are familliar with that, you don't need a "method" anymore, you just live like that.
  12. You can be aware of daydreaming, that's the whole point of this technique. You let your mind loose, you but you stay conscious during that time.
  13. If you're lost in thoughts you're not doing the do nothing method, you're just daydreaming.
  14. The stage where you feel superior to other because you find out about spirituality will subside, so I recommand to go full meditation/awareness. All your problems stems from your psyche, and your psyche dystort everything. I wouldn't say I had it as bad as you, but I was pretty close, so it definitely work.
  15. No need to buy it untill you read the books you can see for free (from the list). Then I also recommand to read "The Power of Now" (which is either not on the list or very low in it), probably one of the best book to read nowadays.
